Have you even eaten meat grilled on a wood grill of this nature? Trust me, something about blackened char whether it be on proteins or vegetables when cooked over fire does NOT taste burnt. Char from a fire is far different than something that gets blackened in an oven or a cast iron pan. ....Trust me, I cook over a fire I have in my home pizza oven and its pretty much how they're cooking in the video, and it is SO much better than a stove and an electric oven.
ya well, most chef is like cook it like this like that. but shes basically trying to make up for her insecurities trying to over explain things so there you go
She burnt it, I love when chefs dont hide it and are like it fuck it I have 50 steaks in the back I'll throw another on and perfect it. She decided to power through like a true grill dad would do Haha.
The cook is so articulate about firing up the foods...terrific concept. Meat and fire hearkens back to early man...skillets, ovens a poor second. The only thing I carp about is precutting the meat for patrons. Parents cut the meat for toddlers...you've butchered it as a chop...why deny the eating of it? Hand them suitable cutlery (if necessary) and a durable napkin and let them enjoy the experience.
Pork chops and pizza?! Now I am in heaven. I just bought two huge pork tenderloins, BOGO. I saved over $11! Now I have an open flame recipe to work with.:)
The liquid/liquor that comes off of the mushrooms is great reduced. I added it to the roast mushrooms for a place i worked with with a fungi pizza in the past.
It's the flavor of the oven cooked chop that matters. You could take charcoal or charred flavor alone and make a sauce from it and create a totally different taste experience. Awesome ladies. In the end it's all about the ideas that comes from it.
No offense, but just wondering, if she seared that pork chop too much since it actually looks black and burned. And when she cutting off the bone, did she find out that the pork is still pink even though she said: it's perfect. then she put it back to the grill?
Oh all those pro chefs here who grew up with overcooked USDA standard pork.. This chop comes from a pig that had a better life than you. It can be served medium and will be delicious. It's pink, because it's supposed to be. Plus, the meat is brined, which brings out the color. Next: look at the slices of the meat. They're BIG! How much char are you getting per piece? It's not burnt! Look at the final chop with the dressing and tell me there is too much char on it. 🤦♂️🤦♂️
Cara Nicolette and frank should do a show together .. put them in a car with a camera crew .. it food heaven and great show is ready ! Let's promote this idea !
So now im really curious about whether or not its ok to leave pork pink. Because we've always been told not to, but if you cooked it till its dead it tastes tough.
Cooking, just like any art, is very subjective. All of you arguing are both correct and incorrect. My personal advice is don't discount things you haven't tried, experiment and take risks, you'd be surprised in what you like. I'm an amateur cook and because I have no concept of "the box" I'm always thinking outside of it. I've cooked for pros who discount my choices before they try my meal only to ask for a second serving. Passion, my friends, should burn as brightly and freely as the sun.
@@marksman24444 You must work for them to be so sensitive about it. I agree the inside looked great and juicy but that outside was burned. Maybe it was the pepper or maybe not. And no pizza should have black spots on it, like that crust had
@@davidt5646 I didnt realize I was being sensitive? I agree the outside of the pork is a little charred but the pizza looks like pretty much any other wood fired pizza.
I thought all of munchies best videos were in the past but they have been popping recently. Great hosts, great chefs and great food!
these are not chefs LOL. It's a host and a butcher. NOT CHEF.
Not chefs. And WTF does "popping" even mean?
I couldn't stop imagining them going at it with each other. I'll admin, not my proudest one yet.
The pork is cooked perfectly on the inside but i got to admit the outside looks really burnt.
All depends on how thick the cut is. It's thick cut. It can handle the burnt outside for sure.
no it wasn't perfectly cooked. that shit had a shine to it meaning it was still RAW
@@TheIdiotChallenege no it wasnt it was atleast medium, food borne illnesses from raw prok atleast in the US and countries with food standards have been eliminated. Only CHicken shouldnt be eaten raw
pretty sure me and you aren't grilling anything that thick (what up cara). That cut can handle it just fine.

2:36 well, some black burned spots are alright, but thats definetly too much.
True that. That thing is burnt.
completely agree, burnt far too much, even the onions
And now I saw the bottom of that "Pizza", must taste like coal....
fuck me thats black
hubbusubbu same thing I was thinking. She fucked it up, I’d be pissed. The burnt taste would be overwhelming
Love both of these ladies! Cara is such a great host and I think Lena has done this once or twice!
Wow this chef is really one of the best talkers out of all the regular chefs I've seen in CZcams videos like this
ya well, most chef is like cook it like this like that. but shes basically trying to make up for her insecurities trying to over explain things so there you go

Grilled lettuce and grilled cesar? Gordan ramsay made fun of some gun who did this same thing
i've been doing that for awhile, gordans a fool it makes crunchy water so much better with a cesar.

I'm actually pretty sure he has a grilled lettuce salad at his own restaurant.

The guy who grilled the lettuce didn't use a wood or charcoal fire, instead using a gas grill. And yes, it makes a big difference.

Wow this chef knows her fire and how to use it, great personality and cute major respect and crush material lol
