NEW* 2024 gameplay guides! Not for complete beginners, but instead new/less experienced players who want to stay on track towards victory even when a Probe, Mutas or Battlecruisers show up. I could prepare a standard build order guide with timings & supply counts to copy down into a notebook, but I find those things are quickly forgotten when faced with an actual opponent. I like to focus on the universal basics like worker production, upgrades, unit composition and complaining about Protoss. Thanks for watching, would be awesome if you like & subscribe! I read all the comments & suggestions (even if Jimmy doesn't respond) and will try to answer any FAQs in future guides or streams.

As a long term metal league player i have won countless more games just A moving and focusing on building more units behind. Majority of my matches are won this way. I’d say I’m high plat low diamond the seasons I do play. Love this kind of video winter I feel most people don’t play because they think they need to play fast when it’s more about being efficient with the actions you do use. Look forward to protoss video!
Hi Winter I've been playing for about 2 months and I'm currently silver 1 with Terrans. Thank you so much for this and all your other videos that make me feel a little bit better and if you could make even a short guide on how to control different spell casters (in my case ghosts and ravens) well in a Fight since they can do it for you pour over. And he also thanks Jimmy for his job of watching PvP which is no small feat
For using spell casters i recommend small steps: Get your standard army control and macro 2nd nature so you can have a little free attention. If you rely on f2 a lot. Consider switching "add to control group" to "remove from other and add to control group" this let's you get army on 1 hotkey and casters on another quick if you have not kept up with forming groups. Have 1 specific goal at a time for the unit. The first time I started getting value from ghosts they had 1 job. EMP protoss shields. They got lost in the army after that. Build from there, EMP and keep them alive. Throw turret down, split and cloak nuke a 2nd location.
If you are still in silver then you should not use ghost and raven. They are always prioritized in control groups, which will messed up your stim if you F2. You should focus more on producing units and make buildings in time. Ghosts and Ravens aren’t gonna be useful for you in any time soon until you learn to control unit with different control group and use tab to switch to different unit. So my advice is learn one build order and stick with it until you reach lower diamond (diamond 3)
As a diamond 3 (3.4k Zerg) that started a year ago, I gotta tell you I have yet to see anyone use spell casters well in any of my games. In my experience, people at these levels are either significantly better at eco or aggression/timing executions. After those they almost always exclusively rely on one of the following play styles: 1: opening cheeses (eg reaper, cannon or dt rushes) 2: focus on fundamentals (eg. constant unit movement/pivots on map, occasional base denial or highly defensive play waiting for better eco or specific tech) 3: attention stealing with low cost harassment. (Eg libs, hellions, zealots) 4: game awareness (the ability to make big inferences and consequent playstyle and unit comp changes from minimal information -I didn’t really start seeing and understanding this one until I broke into diamond.) Strong spell caster control and consistently appropriate scouting at these levels are myths imo (since they all require higher level understanding to gain meaningful returns from) Strong eco, sharp aggression/production timings and a skilled playstyle from the ones I mentioned should easily get you to diamond with enough practice.
@@DawrinChawesexcept it isn’t. It’s very easily defeated as you saw, if you’re over gold rank. I guess according to you, it’s only NOT boring when the cannon rush works?
Longtime SC2 watcher here! (WoL diamond no longer play) It would be really cool to see a guide on how higher level players manage/micro their armies (hotkeys, positioning, splitting, microing tips/techniques, etc) which was my main downfall when I played better opponents (muta ling bling a-move back in the day vs marine tank medivac)
Just yesterday I decided to get back to sc2 and restarted the 2022 low APM vids to learn from and now this. I swear on me mom Winter is in my walls listening.
I tend to take advices from my driving lessons while playing SC2. My monitor teached me to circle through my mirrors every 10s or so, so I *try* to do the same with production > supply > combat/scouting. I must say it was funny to see you getting supply block multiple times, to remind everyone that it can happen at every level of play x'D
This is exactly what i needed and wanted to see! I’ve watched Pig, uThermal, beastyqtSC2, HeroMarine, Clem, Loko, and other on twitch play Terran. The explanation and thought process of why and how you respond is what makes sense! Def looking forward to more videos with this type of commentary! 👏👏👏👏👏
I rarely like videos but I had to like this one. I really needed a video like this to help me clean up my messy game play. I really need to work on my presets and early game build timing.
I'm a Protoss player, but this feels so helpful Winter, I thank you so much!! I've been watching your casts for a long time, and I'd like to get back, and this video kinda encourages me to. Keep it like this you're doing gods work Winter!! :) Love the way you explain your thought process, so helpful, to remember in game. 16:15 LOOOL!
Hi Winter, I notice in the 2022 Low APM guide you always say to get to 200 supply and then A-Move across the map. I noticed in some games you moved out earlier this video. Why? Is this now not a good strategy anymore?
Your Apm is 'low', but your knowledge of the game is high. Why do many clicks when few clicks do trick. Joking aside though, understanding what the response is to what the other player is doing is the hard part. Not sure how many openinga there are for each race, say 15?, so thats at least 45 responses?

I definitely enjoyed finding your channel and subscribing. Just watching and listening to the commentary has made me a better player. These guides also have given me insight. Hope to climb out of Platinum 2 with more training
back in the BW day i had 110-135 apm but i have to say it was so stressfull, and im happy that i switched to having fun now im old and my APM is down to 65-75 and thats if im stressed out xD
is there any chance that you will play BAR again? i realise this might not be the right place to ask but during your streams im usually asleep (from EU)
Winter, every tvt I play the opponent drops my base and if I catch it I win and if I miss it I loose. It's always a 1 base all in and I'm in diamond 2. What can I do ??

Can you put a video link in the description for total beginners? I'm sure you've done one in the past

Every iteration of these apm guides of yours is just pure gold.
thank you for deciding to do this series
"boring" says the guy who was cannon rushing lol.
Cannon rushing is as intense as it gets what do you mean
low ranks = low iq projecting ragers

Im craving the Zerg version for this! :)
55:15 that one medivac just chillin. And it stays there so long! Great display of independence of the all-army hotkey.
Love these. Keep ‘em coming winter.

"I put on my robe and wizard hat"
Thanks for bringing back the high school shitposting memories
Loves of great tips here for playing methodically. Very nice.
Bro, I am a gold 2 zerg, I did my rank matches with Terran just for shits and giggles. Got placed in PLAT. HAHAHAHA Hilarious.
How many battlecruisers brother?
@@enriquegarciacota3914 The only answere for that is just YES
I really enjoyed this! I hope you do this for the other races too. :D
I'm commander Shephard and this is my favourite channel on the citadel.

As a beginner I'm always tempted to just go straight to battlecruisers and vikings. Is that not a good idea
I just made diamond for the first time, so a beginner’s guide is probably exactly what I need.
Zerg B2GM APM challenge would be nice, especially with the bane changes.
All right Billy, go see what it's like out there
I find it hard to characterize the last game as "bronze level" or "beginner level".
This is what I find in bronze - gold and diamond players mostly.
can you do a 2-1-1 build order guide . thx!
Im looking forward to this series.
YES! I was waiting for a new season :D
4:17 "boring" his salty the cheese didn't work lol
Great info ❤
you ARE using your own voice pack! You said it was the viewer you were watching!
wtf nice! im noob terran and you are my fav sc youtuber
really cool and interesting idea for a video

I need this one, but for Protoss 👋👋
Zerg Tutorial? 👉🏻👈🏻
omg! another one!
Ayy a new guide!
I need some serious help tvp my win rate is sub 20% where my tvp and tvz is around 65%,
"You Sly dog... well he failed"😅
Zerg guide please winter ! Its too complicated vs skytoss fucking Carrier +2
I’m confused is this a new player guide or a low APM challenge?
both
sdfljsdfsdf tried doing some ranking matches to start playing again, all 3 opponents were 120-150 apm 2500-3kmmr and rolled me over
YeeesSSSS!!!
is it just me or is SC2 starting to look like SC1.. ? graphics wise? or is it just sooo long ago?
DO ZERG - MAKE ME BETTER!!!
will umake a guide for protoss also?
Target APM : 60
Me laughing at my 40 APM vs AI 😂
Step-bunker lol
Just like a Terran - complain about the rules that dont fit your playstyle until the rules change to your benefit.
i thought playing this game needs u to be a keyboard master, turns out with 60 apm alot is possible.
Plz sir toss one I love u
Is it only NA where people are so vulgar when they lose lol? I never get these opponents on EU
I get about 1 in every 15 in NA that's some kind of spazzlord. I worry about my nation's future.
Cmon man! Here's the deal! Fsfrgybfsgeftfgrfbfffc. And.... apm inflation is a good thing!
Believe it Jim!
zerg have lurkers which are just cloaking better siege tanks stop gaslighting me winter
