Oh I wish! Little romantic comedy ghost, it sounds so cute. This one was partly inspired by the Amazon original “Ghosts” so there’s something sorta similar out there!! Thanks for listening
See, even tho this scene was so adorable, I can’t stop thinking about the tragedy of it all. I can’t imagine living through months of people coming and going while being in a state of loneliness and confusion. It’s basically quarantine but turned up to 11, because nobody sees you. And nobody even knows you’re there. So I’m glad ghostie got a companion of some sort. :)
Tho I can’t help but imagining other scenarios with these two.
Like him trying to wake the listener up during an emergency or maybe for an important appointment.
Not being able to move things at the beginning, but he keeps on trying until he accidentally throws - idk maybe a cup of water? - onto the listener, before realising that he shouldn’t be able to do that in the first place?
Or the listener trying to conduct a conversation on the phone or zoom - or maybe even in person with a date? - while he interjects with random sarcastic side comments until the listener cracks up. And the person on the other side is thoroughly confused bc they don’t know what was said.
Though granted, I think it could be tricky to turn that one into a script with the ghost as the one talking - but in my imagination that situation sounds hilarious.
I think a romance in that constellation would be … wildly difficult to say the least. Just imagine ghostie developing feelings, but he tries to hide them for obvious reasons - being deceased & a ghost, right?
And the listener developing feelings would be teetering on the edge of insanity. Is ghostie just a product of their imagination? And if not - the realisation that they just fell for a dead person must be something.
Okay at this point I’m rambling - but see? Small story seed and a plethora of options to go from there.
The point is: Part 2, please? :D
Shhhh don't spoil the surprises hehehe! It makes me so happy that I could get your imagination going because that's something all my favorite stories have in common. I accidentally gave myself plenty of breathing room for what could come next so I might be most excited for a part two on this one above all my others. You're giving me ideassss
I suppose it is pretty tragic in an existential way. I didn't want to emphasize that part of the story because it's a bit of a bummer but it's hard to get around the inherent bleakness of being stuck in the same apartment for presumably an eternity. With a new friend though, it's hopefully a little more bearable. A part two would shine a little hope on the situation I think. And a romance may not be the most likely or plausible outcome of this buuuut it would probably be the most fun to record ;)
There's so many stories I could tell with the character! Side note, this audio was loosely inspired by the Amazon original series I watched recently just called Ghosts. If you liked the idea in the audio I'd highly recommend it as a light comedy (:

Casper (1995) exposed me to a ghost/human romance very early on in my life and coincidentally kickstarted my sexual awakening (thank you very much Devon Sawa, I still remember my jaw dropping when I first saw him) so I 100% want to date this ghost I don't give a DAMN

Sequel where it’s much later down the line the two know each other really well but then listener has this really good job offer that’ll have them move away. They refuse to leave until they figure out what our ghost friend’s unfinished business is.
If you wanted to make it really sad, they figure it out which means the ghost moved on to the afterlife, but then the job offer got taken by someone else so listener isn’t actually moving. Now they’re alone.
Ouch that last bit hurt me...but I do like that first part! That actually sounds really sweet!! If this becomes a series, I feel like that could definitely find a spot somewhere down the line. Thanks for listening

yoooo the thing about talking to yourself like youre talking to characters in a tv show as if they're real at 17:46 is legit me. from what I've heard it's a symptom of inattentive ADHD (which I've been diagnosed with). I also love this little dude so much he seems so nervous at first makes me wanna give him a kiss on the forehead to reassure him that he'll be ok with me as a roommate
Growing up I saw a variety of ghosts and demons and other types of spirits/creatures, being that I was raised in a religious household I always thought that they were bad. But then one day, I met one who didn't want to hurt me. She was really nice and very much so a motherly figure, and she introduced me to two other spirits who called themselves The Beings Of Sound. After those three I met one I called Top Hat, twin wendigos which I called Charcole and Snow, a hellhound named Shuck, and my demonic twin Beatrice. Now don't get me wrong there were practically hundreds of demons and spirits who wanted to hurt or kill me, but after I met the good ones I decided I'd give all the spirits I'd meet in the future a chance to explain. Since then I've figured out how to talk the ones who want to kill me out of wanting to kill me, and I kinda look forward to meeting new spirits.
This was so smooth😭 like I could kinda tell the emotions tanuki had. This was so interesting! Keep up the amazing work! (If you want to ofc!)

I know I'm super late, but now I have a theory... Since he said that the first time he was heard was after he got scared because of the film etcetera, and now he was seen by the listener after they told him they wouldn't mind or anything, maybe when he feels strong emotions, he becomes more and more "real", more and more "visible" or something similar-
By the way, I really loved this, it's really cute and fun, I giggled a lot and had a great time listening to this, I didn't even realize how long it was, it was so entertaining-

Also, I wonder, what *is* he tied to? If the listener ever had to move out, could they, say, take an old nail or something with them and he'd be able to come with? Or a handful of them in case any get lost. Maybe fashion one into a necklace so they can go and walk around together 💜
