Geoff slaying yet another arrangement as well as an iconic bass line! How he manages to incorporate EDM, rock and pop in to one song coherently will always blow my mind. Layne is just an alien, I’m convinced now 😂 Cesar’s sultry voice, Anthony’s riffs and Eli’s rock tenor notes are all just perfection!
They're all aliens.👽
favorite lines.
"dude turned into a velociraptor"
"he's a synthesizer, sound designers beware"
"he just had to add the reverb on it..." *casually being murdered.*
Layne turned into a velociraptor 😂 love that. They totally killed this, such a good job.
Great version. The part that really kills me is towards the end when Geoff pulls out the finger pistol and you can hear a cartridge ejecting.
Geoff keeps absorbing Dragon Souls, that's how he keeps getting octaves, and sounds. he's unlocking new shouts.
Layne turned into a velociraptor!! Best comment ever!!! I won’t be able to hear some of his sounds again without thinking of that!!😅
I'm rapidly coming to the conclusion that VoicePlay are aliens, especially Layne and Geoff - how can the sounds they make possibly come from humans? They don't need a seven nation army behind them to destroy people - they're quite capable of doing it without any help!
Never got into The White Stripes but this was amazing from VoicePlay! Geoff's bassline is so beefy and bone meltingly good; Layne's beatboxing/vocal percussion/alien-speak is mind boggling; Eli's rock-god screams are incredible and Anthony and Cesar's runs and harmonies just perfect. I don't know how they manage to keep exceeding themselves but they do! Love it!
geoff is an alien i agree. but laynes vocal chords i can actually understand within the beatboxing techniques. @ 6:26 which is the best sound he does is a heavy synthesised edit from layne doing something called "Inward Bass" and its so surprising to see layne do both inward and vibration bass!!!
@@R3dBrickStudi0s Thanks for that 👍 I have no idea how Layne does it but guessed there had to be some kind of effects added to the sounds he produced. I have heard of the inward bass technique but didn't realise he could do it - am I right that I heard somewhere he can also do throat bass, or am I thinking of someone else?
There's one specific part I'm waiting to see if you caught....
Towards the end Anthony starts a riff and Eli finishes it. The exchange was flawless and beautiful!!!
They nailed it. No army could have held them back!
Layne definitely stole the show for me musically in this one. From that inhaled, breathy "velociraptor" beat 🤣 to the water droplet sound, he did so much in this piece...absolutely killed it.
The more I listen to this, the more I am amazed… Geoff and Layne just take something awesome and pour gasoline on it… and then to have Cesar, Eli, and Anthony doing vocal acrobatics along the way… my brain can’t compute this shit 😆😆😆😆
Don't ever stop reacting to Voiceplay!! You're one of the best!
Layne is a velociraptor? LOL No wonder I love your reactions!
What has happened is simple. They are finally accepting they have made it. Their Patreon is sufficient that they can take the extra time and cost to make songs they once would have considered out of their range. I honestly hope they eventually go back and do songs from their earlier years, as well as ones they left aside as too complex. And I love to see every song now.
You are my favorite voiceplay reactor!❤ They actually killed it 🔥 FIRE!!!!!!!
I just wanted to say you have a very smooth and soothing tone in your voice. I could listen to you even read the dictionary. Also you are so knowledgeable about music which make it much more intestinal reaction
Have to agree, listening a work with a "mild" migraine, and Dave's voice helped for a bit
VoicePlay continues to break reactors with this cover. 🙌 I love Anthony's appearances, he's one of my favorite guests.❤
that really highly compressed section of bass that led you to call geoff a synthesizer early in the song, that was actually Layne. Layne Popped off this time around, seriously.
The “chipmunk” vocal chops at 6:20 were actually not voiced by any of the vp members. It’s a sample that can actually be found as a loop in Garageband. Great reaction as always, Dave! 👍
Awesome reaction as always Dave 😊.
I absolutely love this song and video. And you're right. They keep one upping themselves. And I'm here for it.
The graffiti and vandalisms are real. They had to cover some of it up before filming the video.
This is an abandoned department store in the Oviedo Mall in Orlando Florida where Pattycake Productions is located and Voiceplay lives. Pattycake is where Voiceplay and Geoff usually films most of their videos.
This is one of my favorites of Voiceplay. They just knock it out of the park. And of course watching you react to it makes it even better
There is so much I love in this cover. I like your point about Geoff's 'plucking' the bass, but also that slight buzz/drone he added that makes it specifically not just electric bass, but that way of playing that kind of bass that is almost like slapping a stand-up bass. And then the way they did an 'instrumental' section with just their voices. Not just instrument 'parts' playing along, but a whole section. And I want to know how they did those higher pitch techno sounds in that section! I have no doubt that they did them (not after some of their previous synth sounds in other songs) but those were new! And Layne! Just wild on a drum part that I find very repetitive in the original.
And this comment doesn't even cover the quality in their voices during the lyrics! For such nice guys, they sure play menacing well.
I’m pretty sure there’s some electronic trickery going on in the mixing room.
Or, as some other commenters have said, they’re all aliens.
The high pitched vocal chops were actually not made by them. The same sample can actually be found as a loop in the app Garageband.
@@strombonintime2239 I'm surprised if so - they usually make sure it is known if they use something from outside their voices. The only sample I've heard they've used (the goat scream in Bruno) they were very upfront about in their BTS. That's why I question what it might be.
I really thing their goal is producing videos that leave you almost out of breath when the song is over. This song definitely did that. Nothing Else Matters, as well. Voiceplay and Anthony are incredible.
Your reactions to Geoff's bass drops are always amusing.
Another great reaction. I was not a massive fan of this song & I'm always biassed towards Voiceplay/Geoff covers so I shared this with two friends who love the original. One thought it was as good as & the other thought it was a lot better than the original! Geoff is killing these type of arrangements. Everyone is brilliant of course & love when they get all menacing lol.
Couldn't have that better myself. I feel the same way about these guys. My daughter gets tired of me talking about them all the time. She tries to keep talking so I don't talk about them as much 😂.
She once asked me why I talk about them so much. I told her because I love these guys. They make me happy. The same way Buddy (the skunk in my profile picture) made me happy. He's another one I talk about a lot too.
I discovered the original last night and honestly, they went WAY harder with this than they had to. This was a straight gift to us. 😁🤘🤘
When you spend enough time in jail, you don't have instruments, you just have voices...the human "gift" to the rhythm of life essence.
Believe it or not, this was the first song/cover I've listened from VoicePlay and I first knew them from TikTok! LOL
Always look forward to your reactions. Love you and VoicePlay.
Update...
Voiceplay released their new video on their patreon a week ago. It should be on CZcams next Friday. J None is back in this one.
Geoff Castelucci will premiering his new video on CZcams this friday, June 9th.
He is bringing back the 4 dwarf characters he was in his Misty Mountains Cold video.
Both are absolutely beautiful.
I always wait impatiently for your reactions esp to Voiceplay!!!!
Your reactio9ns are always wonderful I look forward to your posting. You keep me from missing stuff. This time I even heard Geoff pull the slide in the inaginary gun and expel the brass that then hit the floor - Thanks
I think we should all be proud of them. VoicePlay is having a banner year so far! _(Knocks on wood)_ I've seen several reactors now make remarks to the effect that they're 'coming into their own' or 'no longer lagging behind' as well as comments that their current lineup is their 'dream team,' and I think all of that is spot-on.
Wasn’t that Awesome…You have absolutely the best reactions and a joy to watch. Thank you for being you. Much love and happiness.
Enjoyed your reaction. VP has done it again with an amazing, complex production. Beautiful!
FYI- 3:17 in your video - that bassline is Geoff - but Layne is doubling it in ingressive phonation.
I’m pretty sure that’s throat bass actually.
@@strombonintime2239 as far as I know and have heard, neither Geoff nor Layne do throat bass.
@@karenponchak5304 Layne has definitely done throat bass many times.
Got to turn that volume up to 85.
Always enjoy you enjoying some VoicePlay magic, Dave!
I just love the way they build it and build it.. Then ease us into the ending
I like how you can show your joy 🤩😃
Yes me too ! Dave is the best passionate reactor 😉Thank you Dave 🥰
I very deliberately waited for your reaction to this before even listening to it...
Love your reactions and comments to acapella. But most of all to VP.
Thank you, dont stop please! ❤❤
I will never stop Voiceplay reactions 🙏🏽
Loved the reaction as always! I was very surprised that song vaulted to my fav, but it's grabbed me and will not let go. ❤🔥
Loved your reaction- thanks!
Great reaction, Dave!! This is just amazing!!
Omg I just love Voiceplay ❤️
This was an amazing cover of Seven nation army 💜 😊
I just love Geoff's base line it was just shaking my core 😮
lol I was just lookin up your socials to tell ya about this one rofl and by the time the song was done it was in the recommended end panel of thumnails love your reactions Dave! @ 5:46 love the reaction, got that deep shock there had to run it back lol
Thank you Dave when Anthony gargiula is with them. Then they deliver every song that is amazing , from nothing else that matters to the sound of silence to Valhalla calling this song. I don't know what to say. Keep doing voiceplay but spread them out i will keep with up to date on geoff castellucci can you do a bobby bass reaction to the sound of silence next Jericho - Bass Singer Cover - Iniko | Tomi P
Absolutely great reaction. I always look forward to Dave's astute remarks. Seven Nation Army is in my top twenty (I have a lot of faves.) VP killed!! This is so good.
I've been watching you for a while, and you're always more and more awesome! I subscribe! greetings from France🥰 Thank you Dave
Great reaction, Dave! ❤😊
I love your VoicePlay reactions!
Oh yes I love drum and bass, whether real or this way. It's the basis of everything for rhythm. Some very odd effects in this have lead some to suggest they are using instruments but personally I would doubt that. It's probably voice distortion. But I can't sweat to it.
Actually that distorted bass line I believe was actually done by Layne via inhale bass
just amazing as usual ❤🏴
"VoicePlay"....."Voice"...."Play"....."Play with the Voice".......they DO have FUN!....don't they?.......>^^
first, also this is straight 🔥
Enjoyed 😊
Layne went totally crazy on this. I think it’s Geoff’s way of getting back at him. Layne’s arrangement made Geoff murder his voice for Valhalla calling. So Geoff really put Layne through it on this one and it was awesome. Velociraptor indeed🦖
Great cover. If I remember correctly, the "bass" line in the original was actually done on an acoustic-electric guitar and not a bass.
Liliac is a great band and deserves more attention, and voice play always kills: Geoff's ultra low bass is terrifying... Even as a bass singer myself😊
W song and reaction
Layne just doing Layne things......all we gotta do is just enjoy the show. And of course Geoff going crazy....again, par for the course of this awesome group
Great reaction. I especially like that on can always learn something about what is going on within the music in the songs you react to. Please, keep it up! :)
Like I said God has spoken just like mosses n guess what ur mosses lol
Layne might have actually won the battle in this one!
Interestingly, I've already had a version of this song that I liked better than the original - namely The Glitch Mob's remix of Seven Nation Army.
gg bro im italian
only italian will understeand
I didn’t know this song so after I heard theirs I tried listening to the original, but I didn’t like it, I’m not sure if it’s because I heard VP first or not.
