Whatâs up, everyone? For my latest massive eating day, Iâm going with one of my favorite foods in the world, sushi! Come along with me as I eat sushi for 24 hours straight!
For this video, I teamed up with my friends at Tippsy, who offer a convenient sake subscription service. Itâs the perfect thing for anyone who loves good, premium-quality sake. Each Tippsy box contains six bottles of sake, and you can get one, two, or four boxes per year.
If youâd like to try it for yourself, just head to their website and use my discount code DAVID to get 20% off your order before February 7, 2021! Of course, please do not drink underage or drink irresponsibly.
My box also contained a Tippsy Sake Guide, which explains all about this delicious, fermented rice wine. Thereâs even a map of Japan, explaining the different types of sake you can find throughout the country. You also get info on the sakes in the box, including the best serving temperature and more!
For my first sushi of the day, I headed to a nearby grocery store, bought some Sushi Maki sushi there, and took it back to enjoy it in my office. I paired it with the Kudoki Jozu sake, which comes from a brewery that was founded in 1875!
I had the Surfside Combo, which contains sticky rice, sashimi, and eight rolls. I used my own bowls and chopsticks that I bought in Japan, mixed some soy sauce and wasabi, added some ginger, and dug into my rolls and sushi. The wasabi was really hot and the tuna was super fresh! The Kudoki Jozu sake was really enjoyable and smooth! I was excited to share the rest with my dad!
From there, I headed to a local sushi restaurant called Sushi Runner in Sunset Place mall. There, I met Melissa and ordered the Shrimp Killer Roll. They have tons of rolls and poke bowls. I watched them make the rolls with rice and seaweed, and add asparagus, avocado, and shrimp tempura. Then, they battered and fried it! Then, they top it with the ahi, Peruvian sauce, and shrimp. Itâs super elaborate and saucy! The tempura was so good, and having the roll fried was so different.
I paired this roll with the Nanbu-Bijin sake, which is light and dry, and can be served cold or room temperature. It was clear and almost had a creamy texture. It pairs best with meat, sashimi, or fish and comes from the Iwate prefecture.
The roll was fantastic with the soy sauce and wasabi combination. Itâs the way Iâve eaten it my entire life! This elaborate roll was so huge! It really is a meal on its own. The crispy onions, rice, and tempura combination was full of incredible textures. You have to try it!
I walked back to my office with a few hours to kill before it was time to grab some dinner. My wife Ana and I headed to Matsuri, our favorite sushi restaurant in Miami. We decided to do takeout to pair it with our sake!
Our dinner consisted of a Matsa Special, Crunch Hip-Hop Roll, an eel roll, spicy tuna roll, and sashimi. I paired it with Dassai 45 from the Yamaguchi Prefecture. Itâs 60% alcohol and pairs with meat, sashimi, and fish. Ana paired hers with Jozen âAgedâ sake from the Niigata prefecture. Itâs made using melted snow.
The Dassai was really smooth, while the Jozen was really nice as well. This sushi is our Friday-night go-to. I loved the caramelized eel. The crunchy hip-hop roll was nice and crunchy.
What an awesome day of eating sushi (and drinking sake) for 24 hours!

@@Davidsbeenhere are you going back Japan sometime in the future?
Good to see you with your wife. You both are awesome together.
I dont like Sushi but I watch because of David.
We've never had tempura sushi before. That looks amazing - especially with the shrimp on top đ

Hi David, we just love that you are making video together with your wife đ„°
Waked up and seeing this video feeling hungryđ€Ș
My son and I love sushi. He is 13 and has been eating sushi since he was 3...we love it. If I could afford it, I would eat sushi for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I have started making my own and I have gotten pretty good at it...so says my son; and he would know, because he has eaten it with me all over the US.
Yes, but actually 36 hours. I treated myself to 4 meals worth. Fabulous!
Dude, my family's Japanese, and I wouldn't be able to do this! Hahahaha! Craft beer, though? I'm in! LOL
đ yea I loved it! You should try
@@Davidsbeenhere I shamefully admit that -- as a home brewer -- I have done the, "let's see if we can make it to 24!" challenge with the beer half of the equation. The sushi, though...I know for a fact that I would tap out after a certain point. You are a REAL man! Mucho respect! =)
Sushi runners at sunset mall is the best Friendly great customer service good is always fresh highly recommended guys wonât you wonât regret it
I like seeing your wife with you almost as much as your Dad!
From seeing travel craze to food craze, this channel has really grown up.

Eating 3 spicy tuna rolls right now while watching this
Can you give us a tour of your home? and tell us the stories behind the decorations.
I love sushi and sashimi, and can eat them 3 x 7. The winner of this episode has got to be the Shrimp Killer Roll at Sushi Runner 10:19, quite an innovative dish.
16:45 he hopped out the bitch like he was about to rob the place! đđđ
Great video David! Ever been to Vancouver, Canada? We have the best sushi outside of Japan...look it up! That and we have amazing Indian food!
People think that Japanese eat sushi often or everyday but that's not true. đ
Tight! Keep it up!
You can also use "Ponzu" sauce. Kind of like soy sauce but it has lemon or lime ( 2 kinds). Kikoman makes it and you can find it at an Asian store. I love it with sushi!
I just woke up here from Switzerland feeling hungry already lol
You know David is the dad of little ones the way he read the sake brochure to the camera, Kawaiiđ€đ€đ€
Fish side is suppose to be dipped in the soy not the rice side and turned to the side so the fish can be tasted first cleanse the palate with ginger
Yo David I just moved to Miami and have been trouble finding a good sushi spot, I'll definitely be checking out Matsuri!
Oh you will love it! Best sushi spot in Miami for sure đ

Craving tuna nigiri in a huge way!! David - not supposed to pour your own saki bowl/cup my friend!
The more I watch this, the more I feel like heading to the nearest sushi placeđ đ

David you need to write Indian before sushi to get more views
Rogaine doesn't work?
Sake... Likeee đ
It is NOT sticky rice it is sushi rice, japanese rice with vinegar. Sticky rice is a different variety from Thailand. 2 Completely different things.
Haven't seen no sushi roll look like that and pink ginger which causes cancer read the back of the jar haven't seen raw fish there. Answers. Although white ginger and red (or pink) ginger do exist, the different colors in sushi ginger are from a dye. The color in white sushi ginger comes from the pickling process and the red/pink color in ink sushi ginger comes from an artificial dye (usually E124 -cochineal red- or in other brands beet extract).
It's more like beef of the sea
David do you mis rakija from kosovo
I am Japanese. You put too much soy sauce and wasabi on your sushi.
Japanese people don't do that. They put them in more small amounts. Be careful with high blood pressure!
Namaste đ good morning everyone đđ#lilliput cooking show đ
Where are you now
Wish I had his job...
đđđ#lilliput cooking show đ
Dude Sake is not Albanian Raki, nice video
I agree totally with your lovely wife that eels gross me out as well, cause they look like a wriggling snake lol đ
David.... was wondering whist in Japan and wondering what you think... if I/we were to open a sushi establishment in Tokyo selling American sushi, do you think it will take off and be a absolute seller? I would think yes! There is (as far as Iâm aware) nothing like it in Japan and I truly think the Japanese would go for it big time
Ciao David""Con un po di Raki:::: Come sarebbe il sushi??đŠđ±đŠđ±đŠđ±đșđžđșđžđșđžTi
Aspettiamo in Albania per nuove esperienze
David, your windshield washer fluid is low.
Bold look is really really strange.
As a Miamian I can say Sushi Runner ... SUCKS!!! I honestly thought you had a more refined palette đ€
When ever you eat my eyesđ

Itâs not sticky rice brother, itâs just sushi rice, totally different!
This is true. ÂŻ\_(ă)_/ÂŻ

No one is going to Japan for a long time. Miami is Covid central its awful. You have to be crazy to eat out that's why he got take out.
Better do a cleanse! Lol bunch of parasites in them delicious things.
You'd think someone that's been to Japan and is sponsored by a sake sub company would be able to pronounce it properly
The epitome of selfishness.
Donât ever pour your own sake!
