Hi Cyndy! I do like a jumpsuit, although not going to the toilet in them lol! The liberty came with the elodie pattern and I won it. Don’t think I would have been able to afford it otherwise 🤩. Looking forward to sharing my makes xx
Hi Karen, I lost my Brother 4 years ago and made 3 memory bears, one for me and the other two for his children. I used the fabric from sweatshirts and a tee-shirt. I used an iron on interfacing because when you come to stuff the bear it will keep its shape. Because jersey is stretchy the stuffing can easily distort it. I think the blue and orange go well together, they are opposite on the colour wheel which makes them perfect together. Look forward to seeing all your makes as well as the bears. 😊

The coat your making would look lovely with the dress, great colour match. Love your make nine ideas, as you mentioned lots of jumpsuits & great idea to try & use two fabrics from your stash a month + patterns. I loved your pin cushions & great idea to sell them, I think they would be really popular. So sorry to hear about your brother & making a memory bear or pillow is a lovely idea - the t/shirts should be fine for this, as good quality. Really surprised that the cross stitch advised three strands, unusual as it’s normally one or two strands with all the ones I have made. Thank you Karen great video.❤
Thanks Ali, I’ve been enjoying doing the cross stitch, but yes I thought it was odd they said 3 strands! Looking forward to staying my make 9, I’ll be doing the zadie first. I’m going to make a practice bear and see how I get on. It’ll be nice to make something other than a garment too xx

Hi Karen, I recently made 3 memory bears from two skirts and an apron that was my Mum's using the same pattern you featured on your blog. They are a lovely size bear and a simple sew. One of my Mum's skirts was made from a very light weight fabric with a bit of stretch and I interfaced the fabric prior to cutting it out. This worked well and made the fabric more stable and more opaque. The only other tip I would give is when placing the safety eyes and the nose (if you aren't embroidering them) not to add them directly onto a seam because it will cause a weak point and the seam could unravel. Hi Wendy, aww thank you so much for all of your advice and tips for the memory bears, I appreciate you taking the time to let me know. I will definitely interface the jersey before cutting out in that case and great to know about the placement of the eyes as I probably would like to use safety eyes too. Good to know that the pattern is a nice sew too. I’ll hopefully be sharing one soon, a practice version at least xx
Love all your make 9 ideas. I’m an avid cross stitcher and I find that if you completely separate each strand of floss first, they don’t get as knotted up. Also the floss has a right way and a wrong way like cotton. If you run your fingers down it, one way will be smoother than the other way. Always stitch with the smooth way in 😊

Thanks Sally 😃, I’ve been sewing a bit more of my coat today. I’m finding the boiled wool thicker to work with than my previous one so think it’s going to need a lot of pressing and using the clapper! Looking forward to getting started with my make 9 and also a practice version of the memory bear xx

Hi Karen ,happy new year from Ireland 💚, can't wait to see how the coat turns out it's looking beautiful 🤩 ,I make memory bears and cushions ,if it's a jersey or knit fabric ,use a medium weight iron on interfacing to stabilise the fabric and I also sew every seam twice because jersey fabric will blow out when you go to stuff ,I always like to put a love heart on the tummy and something on the back seam to hide it ,or some embroidery , I use a jersey needle and regular guterman thread , you could use the scraps in the stuffing mixed with you stuffing ,cut them up very small ,or make little birds or love hearts to hang up at Xmas time or for other family members , I hope this helps

I make a lot of memory bears, I interface all the fabric with a medium weight woven interfacing, I use the Melody bear pattern from Funky Friends Factory. I’m planning a trip to the festival on the Thursday

Great plans, I have made a few of them. But all great patterns. I'd still like to make a Sirocco jumpsuit. ❤Sorry about your brother and grandma but a memory bear is a great idea.

Thank you!! I have had a little bit of breakage with my hair which I’m disappointed about, but hopefully it won’t get any worse. I’m enjoying sewing the coat but I’m finding the boiled wool quite thick to work with so think it’s going to need quite a bit of pressing and using my clapper! Xx

Use the high viz to make mini jaclets for the teddies you make as then it really relates to your brothers style. Yes you must make for yourself and your mum and dad, it’s so precious, to have their son and mum. I have made several and jersey worked out fine, just use the same rules as making a sweat shirt or t shirt. I made some out of polo tops and left the logos on the teddies chest. I have also used shirts and a wool jacket. All very emotional but so worth it. Xxxxxxxx❤
