It's likely that any form of halogenated carboxylic acids are problematic for eukaryotic organisms.
As with those containing trans pi bonds resulting from partial hydrogenation, they will cause serious problems if incorporated into cell membranes.
These could, additionally, be troublesome for mitochondria to process.
I understood five of the words in your post. Top of the list is 'problems'. I know EXACTLY what that is.

SunDrop and other citrus sodas used to use a type of Pine sap instead of BVO. I never thought that the Pine sap was bad in the first place. Lots of people thought it was a subpar food additive. Maple syrup comes from Maple sap. Most tree saps aren't that big of a deal, unless they are from poisonous trees.

I STOPPED DRINKING SUN DROP soda pop because when I do it makes me feel bad. I live in Ohio, but visit family in North Carolina, and I would get a case of Sun Drop while I was down there. It would be years in between the times I would be drinking it. But now, after many years of a healthy diet, when I drink Sun Drop it bothers my stomach, and I don't feel good for a few hours. I WON'T DRINK IT ANYMORE, and now I believe I know why. I had noticed it had brominated vegetable oil.
Giving up MTN Dew is hard too.
I am a vegetable farmer to make vegetables into a oil to me seems to be impossible in a natural form. Thank you for info on this. I haven't eaten vegetable oil for years after i got really sick. There is truth in what say. God bless you cant wait for your need topic.
Yet you still grow the stuff? Why not switch to a different crop?
