In foods it's more important to notice or know about 1: total carbohydrate content ( not sugar, as the term sugar is complex it can be a monosaccharide, oligosaccharide , polysaccharides )
Plus protein and fat and other nutrients
Because Glycemic index ( how fast those sugars are released into blood from food when consumed) and glycemic load ( how much carbohydrate load does 100 gm of that food contains) is what matters most
In that regard potato has more glycemic index and glycemic load compared to all other vegetables and most of the fruits ( among vegetables potato is not advisable for diabetic patients) other vegetables can be consumed with out any doubt
