How interesting. I thought that the cross was lost to time. I knew that there were some ancient Pontius Pilatus coins. But this is on another level. God bless, and thanks for doing this.

Go go go! Yes! I was so happy to know THE cross is still with us. The cross, every cross and the sign of the cross is the invincible weapon of peace that conquers all evil forever. Sooo yeah that’s kind of a big deal. :)

My parish has a small shard of the True Cross. It's amazing. I've heard the one on Mt Athos is a bigger piece.

If I remember correctly, it was Theodosius and not Constantine that made Christianity the official language, though Constantine made it legal

Wasn't it Constantine's successor (Theodosius) who made Christianity the official religion of the Roman Empire? I thought Constantine just made the practice of Christianity legal.

We live in Australia, but we grew up in a few other countries including England. Hence the accents are a little unpredictable. Aussies don't tend to think I'm Australian either.

Been to the Holy Sepulchre and I’m sure the tomb wasn’t there. The park the Anglicans have has a tomb that matches the dimensions/description with a stone rolled open. Also next to Golgotha. But may not be the case. Pretty sure Ctesiphon was historically supposed to have the cross. Doubt it. I actually think the cross beam was hammered into an actual tree like an acacia on top of Golgotha/skull hill

I’ve been to Jerusalem and both supposed places the tomb was this summer. And this is the scientific consensus among scholars and archeologists about this issue. Even the archeologist of Jerusalem -at the time- (I think it’s a few years ago) admitted that the Holy Sepulcher Church is by far the best candidate to be the place the tomb. Even National Geographic did an article about this and came to the same conclusion. The fact that the tomb was outside the city walls doesn’t change anything, since the city walls of Jerusalem have been re-located.☦️

Why would there still be a stone rolled away after 2000 years? And how can you be sure the tomb is not where the Holy Sepulchre is?

Golgotha was named not because it resembled a skull but it was traditionally at the time believed the place where Adam's skull was buried. The rock formation that protestants call golgotha and the garden tomb was never considered anything by the indigenous Christians. General Gordon, who fancied himself a archeologist, decided on his own while walking around Jerusalem that those were the "true" places. He based it not on any historical understanding but on a very flawed protestant but anti catholic/Orthodox viewpoint.

@@brammetselaar7027 National Geographic has a reputation of trying to disprove mainstream Christianity, the fact that National Geographic agrees with the Holy Spulchure being the Tomb of Christ is testament to is authenticity.
