This blows the OG Leader class starscream outta the water and that transformation is just amazing.
I still believe when jet mode is concerned the former leader is much more sleeker tho

Oh wow, nice grab. I've considered getting this, I have the similar Hunt for the Decepticons toy, but this is definitely one of the best looking movie Starscream figures it seems. Plus, I've actually always like the design and prefer the simpler, non stripe version of the character.

Looks good, REALLY good, but suffers from the same problem as Lord Megatron: has a more toyetic appearance than being an actually well-painted robot
MPM Meg’s paintjob was such a disappointment.

I wish Unique toys would make their version of this figure. Just like they did with R-03 Dragoon. This figure deserves the same justice.

Yeah they need to at least round off the whole first movie cast
I'd say they're actually pretty balanced, 3v3 until Ratchet arrives and makes it 4v3

THANK YOU for showing us a good view of the jet mode without the weapons stored. Personally I really don't care about weapon storage since most of the time they make the alt mode look stupid. The jet mode looks a lot more streamlined and tolerable now compared to what I've been seeing. Keep up the good reviews!

The lack of a waste swivel could have something to do with the design itself and the fact that it transforms
I haven't seen the movies for a few years so correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think he actually did swivel in any of the movies

I may not be a fan of the Bay designs but I can't deny that this is an amazing figure nonetheless. Hasbro is really steping their game up in this category.
Interestingly in the launch video for this figure, they did show him brings his hands close together and doing that “scheming finger” thing, they mistransformed the arms a little bit but not as extreme as you showed here, so it is possible to do without looking too wacky

Heads up , the ankles are not supposed to move forward and back. They lock in place, it's a strong lock, so you need to push a bit harder than you might think. Makes him extreme stable.
Yeah I thought mine was broken or just loose but I kept looking to see and yes it does lock in. Stand much better.
Hope we get MPM Bonecrusher and ROTF Sideswipe next year.

While that one is a nice mold. It’s not completely movie accurate and doesn’t fit in well with Hasbro’s MPM scale. That’s one of reasons why MPM Bonecrusher should be next year.
Ball joints loosen up quicker than hinges or swiv- rotations, so thats why they aren't used on masterpiece figures.

I don’t mind the plastic on this MPM Starscream. Doesn’t seem to be shitty plastic. I only dislike the rubber parts on him and his weapons and the inaccurate colors.

That is one sexy F-22 Raptor. Leader class Starscream is still the best looking one, but this one gives it some serious competition.
I still love this design for Starscream.
I don't understand why they Fu ked the F-22 mode so much: no tail marks, two USAF emblems instead of one and exaggerated coloring for the cammo and grey parts.

I don’t know if you have figured this out yet. But I was handling my MPM Starscream today and if you plug the ankles in all the way in he will be WAY easier to stand.

I really liked how you pointed out the lacking joints. On looks alone, the figure is amazing but there’s still room for improvement. I hope KO companies would listen to those complaints and make a better version.

Hmmm...I actually want a slight upscale now... and better paint obviously. I want his legs fully bent, but want him a head shorter than MPM Megs. So I think an upscale will do that, plus make his Jet mode much larger as well.
No bicep swivel is a major disappointment
got to panel line it and black wash with thin acrylic black layer for cinematic look. Very quick and easy too, I do it all the time with gunpla or mechs, even action figures , it makes a great difference in tone and shading- even simulated burn marks. Black washes dont need fine detailing, the inertia of the water does most of the work.

I bought mine and it's so great a great figure.
The camo low key looks like wet pants, but it is not bad enough to warrant a pre-order cancellation.

Even though this is my least favorite design, and since I’m a teenager the most I can afford is a leader class figure, this looks really good! Honestly, I probably wouldn’t like it as much had it been anyone else reviewing it other than PvP. I’m going to get SS Blitzwing as my StarScream though! Awesome review Prime vs Prime!
I'm going to buy MPM 10 Starscream to repaint Starscream to G1 version of Starscream many Seekers such as Thundercracker Skywrap that look like Starscream only but not the Coneheads. I'm also going to make a Starscream from the Bumblebee movie with that looks like Blitzwing from Bumblebee Movie 2018

Just got this at Target yesterday, thanks for the video. Only complaints...no display base so if anyone knows one that would support his weight please let me know, not a big fan of the size of the buzzsaw and missile pod, and they could have had a bit more paint on the gatling gun.

I do really like these transformers and I do like you can transform them. But like you said, overtime if you transform them the taps can overtime break or getting lose. That’s why I am scared to touch my transformers to break them or something.. I don’t have the money to buy two of them. So I keep them in robot mode for my collection

beast machine version concealed all the bottom in jet mode.Most seamless jet transformation, even had two of them.
I personally am not a fan of the paint scheme for the jet. The MPM-01 did it better.

I'd be down for a G1 colors redeco of this figure.
For transformers that have a plane mode and transforming from the plane I recommend always starting with the wings especially for this and it should prevent that fin popping off
I actually just bought this figure at target and love transforming it and playing with it. Online, it says it has light up eyes, it this true
I think what ultimately hurts this figure the most for me is that all the problems with it accumulate into a bigger problem, despite none of them really being huge dealbreakers by themselves.
-Bad color scheme
-Lack of bicep swivel/lack of ball jointed head/lack of waist swivel
-Poor feet stability
-Unsightly buttflap
-Unsightly robot mode kibble in jet mode
None of these on their own would've dissuaded me much from buying this, but together, I'm starting to reconsider. No denying that sculpt wise it looks incredible but I can't help feeling that they could've done a lot better in certain areas.

I can kinda forgive the waist joint, the design is really complex, but no bicep swivels? on a character known for his exaggerated body language it hurts WAY more, what's the point of the superb hand articulation if he can't intertwine his fingers maliciously?

19:04 actually there’s a tie in comic to the first film called the Reign of Starscream, in it he actually transforms his arm to elongate itself so he can reach some humans in a space he can’t fit and this looks very similar haha! Prob not intended but still cool I think

Absolutely loved the toy, but is there any way to insert a pilot in the cockpit? Did anyone try to unscrew or remove the canopy? Kida scared to try it...
I hope the major articulation problems, paint & ass-flap is sorted out in the upscale KO.
This is easily one've the few MPM figures i feel Takara has put alot of effort into, but the oversights really screw this guy over for me.

Haha... Same! This figure looks like crap in jet mode with all the kibble, and this Bay design of Scream has always looked terrible! Imo
At least we can have Starscream flipping the bird.
He doesn't have a lot of die-cast because it's heavy and he's a jet. It would be too much for his payload capacity. 😅
