Last night [Friday April 19th 1996] was an exceptional night as the Bay got treated to an interview of a lifetime. KMEL's Westside Radio program played host to Tupac Shakur in what may be best described as a home coming interview.

I was a teenager in this era living in South Florida and Tupac was like our superhero like a street version of MLK, Malcom X, Muhammad Ali, and Paul Robeson all in one!! For anyone that's too young to understand the massive impact this man had on the culture in such a short period of time just know it will never be duplicated again. Look how he's still being revered 27 years later and counting. Rest up King your legacy will live forever!! You died in 1996 and your tribute will outlast any rapper that ever touched the mic!

This has to be the most insightful interview I have heard about the W vs. E issues of the era. Now, I can see why there was beef between the coasts. I know why Puffy is being quite. If it was me, when the Bad Boy tour comes to the Bay, I would boycott it based on what I heard from Tupac.
Glad to see this up. I knew a guy, back then, who got me a tape of this a month after it dropped. It was deep AF and crazy the way everything after unfolded.
