    I just want to thank you and your wife for sharing all the things you do. I have become disabled over the last few years and I can no longer go to shows. I wanted to see this one and I was thrilled to watch every video. Some of us cant do it anymore and we are very grateful. God bless.

    Excellent content. I’ve watched your 2023 and 2024 Rockville videos. It was my first time to go to this fest and I camped for 3 days and 3 nights. I had a blast. I saw lots of bands for the first time as well as some that I really enjoy. Totally worth it and hopefully I get to run into you at a future festival. Cheers from Central Florida!

    Rockville was great. My first time in VIP and I had an absolute blast. I did it because I saw your VIP walkthrough last year and loved it. Thank you for always putting out awesome content. I will say to those who complain about pricing at these kind of events, you should always think about bringing additional money or saving it before hand because it'll increase your enjoyment. Cheers!

    Thank you for everything you do. I get to live vicariously through you since unfortunately I don’t ever have the money to do these extra things. I am a plumber with a wife and for kids, which makes it really tough to get to go out and do these kind of things with the prices these days. But at least to watch you do it I get to dream for a moment…lol. I know it sounds sad but I really wanted to go so bad this year. I will start saving for next year I guess. Either way thank you for everything. You just continue keeping it real like you always do.

    Thanks for your uploads and views of Rockville over the years! I've been watching yours and @ConnerFL vlogs and videos on Rockville and this year I ended up going for the first time with friend's and it was the best time I've had in years! Seen so many of my favorite bands and seen some bands my friend's listen to that I haven't heard of before. Some of my favorite sets are Starset, Electric Callboy, Wage War, Code Orange, Fire From The Gods and Slipknot, honorable mentions Drowning Pool, Nonpoint ,Nita Strauss, Saliva and August Burns Red. I like your view on how pricing was on things like food and merch, my only complaint about merch was the quality of the Rockville shirt I got the print of the bands and I get it there was a lot of them but the print makes the band names almost unreadable. Other than that thanks again on the uploads on the festival and your thoughts and tips before Rockville. Can't wait to see what they plan for next years lineup!

    Thanks for doing all of these videos. It really does help inform us on things we wouldn't otherwise know about. I agree with the sacrificing of one band to see another. I love Godsmack and have seen them a bunch but last year when they were coming on, I was already on the rail, albeit far from the middle, at the stage Pantera was going to play on so I chose to stay there, having only seen Pantera one other time. You gotta pick your battles. WTR is totally worth the price. \m/ \m/

    • @ViewFromTheCheapSeats
      @ViewFromTheCheapSeats  Před 2 měsíci +1

      We stayed at the Pantera stage last year as well. It's a tough call at times with bands playing at the same time or right before each other on different stages. We end up with a large group each year and we're constantly splitting apart from each other to run to different stages.

    Love your Rockville videos. I’ve been watching since last year last year was my first Rockville the two years I’ve been going I’ve had a blast. I love all your points that you made in the video regarding the pricing, the bands and everything that you were talking about this year Rockville was amazing me and my friend Jose we had a blast, I’m planning on going every year as long as they have it. This year we bought VIP for four days and it was worth it to me clean the bathroom shade and the food was better. I recommended if anyone can afford it my only complaint for this year has nothing to do with Rockville just with Airbnb. I reserved an Airbnb as soon as they announce the bands last year one day before my check-in they canceled it and I was so angry. I was dealing with Airbnb all day that day. I was looking forward to staying in Daytona Beach Airbnb was right across the beach and about 20 minutes from the venue, Daytona Speedway. Airbnb offer me $120 to rebook and I rebooked in Orlando almost an hour away from Daytona Beach Speedway besides that my whole experience was amazing all four days. You and your wife great keep up the good work, F the haters they can go to hell. lol jk. I was hoping to meet you guys and have a beer with you. Maybe next year I can run into you and your wife

    Thank you for recording some of your Rockville experience. It was nice to see a lot of people gather to enjoy live heavier music. As you said you have been doing this for 10yrs so you know what works, but just a mention. Having longer segments of bands playing would be cool. Again not complaining. I think the ticket pricing is fair for four days of music, but the concession pricing is expensive. Prices me right out. Hey if you have the financial means , more power to you? Maybe bad choice of words. Anyways thank you for your uploads, I vicariously experience festivals like these because I can't afford to go to these.

    • @ViewFromTheCheapSeats
      @ViewFromTheCheapSeats  Před 2 měsíci +1

      2 things with the longer clips - we end up with hour long videos and bands generally seem ok with the shorter clips v having complete songs uploaded.

      @@ViewFromTheCheapSeats like I said you've been doing this for ten years and you know what works. I wouldnt think having a complete songs would be a good idea, but just longer clips would be cool. You seemed to know the layout of Daytona International Speedway pretty well, is your other content NASCAR related? If I remember correctly you said in this video you also do other stuff to upload on CZcams. Might be interested in revisiting your channel.

    Like you and Mary, my wife and I always get tickets as soon as they become available even before the line up is announced. We also get parking and reserve a campsite at one of the nearby state parks as soon as they announce the date. If you don’t have the money to pay for everything right away they have a great layaway plan that we’ve used in the past.
    We know we’re going so for us it’s a matter of getting the tickets at the lowest possible price and they can tell us who is playing later.

It is nearly impossible to see any of my favorite bands perform in my home state, but Rockville made it possible for me to see them all. People will complain regardless of what someone does. Its human nature. If people think its too much then dont go its that simple. But as you mentioned to see just ONE band and an opening band now a days it costs more thhan $200. Especially here in Canada. The last band i saw was Def Leppard in 2019. (my favourite band since i was 11 or 12) i paid $140 back then and they werent that great of seats. So paying over $200 to see as many bands as you can out of 150 is an amazing price really!!! Sadly my body couldnt handle all those days but i love living it through you and Mary! So once again i thank you so much for bringng Rockville into my life and so many other venue's you guys post.

    People are so angry nowadays. We’re into different types of music, but we enjoy watching your videos on Rockville. We’re both 52 and you do what you wanna do. This life is short. You wanna use your money, use it. We go to a ton of concerts, buy Lego, have a APs to the parks here, and other stuff. It’s what’s important to you and what you like that you spend your money on. It’s also just the experiences and memories you have from doing stuff like this. I really don’t get people. We’re not rich, but what money we do have we use on stuff that makes us happy. This world sucks real bad so do stuff that makes you happy.

    Literally the only gripe I had was there just wasn’t enough Shade… Thursday and Friday was absolutely brutal… and maybe Premium Parking being such a mess but that was more on the track people misinforming folks about it being full when in reality it wasn’t… but that’s not DWP’s issue…

    • @ViewFromTheCheapSeats

      The shade has been tough outside of the Jack Daniel's tent. They let people into the grandstands area this year, but I don't think many people knew about it.

    @DavieRockit13 Před 2 měsíci +1

    Yeah, the internet crybabies are terrifically entertaining to read. This was my 7th Welcome to Rockville, and DWP constantly thrive to listen, improve, and upgrade the experience every year. I just finished an hour long survey they release every year post festival, and they have legit upgrade questions within it.
    Weather issues? They do their best to navigate and move sets around to make up for whatever sets get pushed during inclement weather.
    Price of water? Who buys water inside the festival? Just bring in a bottle of water, which they allow, and then proceed to fill it up in the free refill stations.
    Hot asphalt near stages? Nope, now "astroturf" has been added.
    Cost of entrance? The average headline band solo concert is roughly $70 per ticket. There were 8 headline level bands on the festival. That alone makes up the price of the ticket, let alone the 142+ other bands you'll see.
    I actually met Danny Hayes and Ashley for the first time this year and praised how well they've pushed Welcome to Rockville, listened to improvements, and maintained when things don't go as planned.
    I'm glad these people just sit behind their keyboards and cry because we don't want that energy at the show anyways, everyone I met was having the time of their lives. So while they continue to rant on your comments, I was living it up catching Electric Callboy, Shadows Fall, Gatecreeper, Dying Wish, Wage War, Terror, among the who's who of other artist from the comfort of simply walking from my campsite, with good company and enjoying the entire weekend.

    • @ViewFromTheCheapSeats
      @ViewFromTheCheapSeats  Před 2 měsíci

      I think ever since DWP had issues with Rockville during the year with Def Lep headlining, they've done an amazing job year over year listening to feedback and making improvements. I love seeing the variety of different bands that everyone went to check out.

    1. Foo Fighters
    There are way too many honorable mentions to list.
    Worst band: Greta Van Zepplein Wannabes
    I haven’t seen AC/DC since the 1980 Back in Black tour so it would be pretty cool to see them again. Hope your hunch is right and DWP can make it happen.

    Blabbermouth, I had to chuckle at that one. I hear ya. You're right, there really was something for everyone. Was recently thinking would I'd pay money to go see live. There really aren't many. Want to see Slash really bad with the Conspirators. I've seen all of the 80's bands. I'd like to find some bands that are just now starting out & need support to go see. I'm just thankful you took the time to share with us. I haven't been to a festival in a few years but I went to a few in the past. Yes, I'm an alumni of the Monsters of Rock in Cleveland, Ohio. Yes, I was really young ;).
    Thanks, for taking the time to break down the cost. It helps make it all make a lot more sense. Was thinking, I bet you buy your tickets really early for a better price. Yep! & that's what I would do. @ 8:50 there ya go! I've thought about that quite a bit. It's nothing like it used to be. To make money, bands have to tour & sell merch. They almost give their music away for free hoping people will come & see them live. It's not an easy gig to live by. I really like Texas Hippie Coalition. They've been touring a lot & were just in FL. They aren't packing stadiums but they're doing pretty good at the club scene. Just priced a ticket in Columbus, Ohio. It's $22.50 + $5.53 = $28.03 & there's 5 opening bands. Heck yeah, I'm going! I recommend THC, the band is young & they're really good. The lead guitar player is incredible. The bass & rhythm guitar are brothers. They're tight & good. Remember many moons ago when Blackberry Smoke traveled by van. They sold merch for gas money. If you want to support your favorite band, then go see them & buy some merch. I completely agree. Thanks, for sharing! Heck yeah, Mary. I'm a Judas Priest fan too & Anthrax!

    Based on some of the comments, I sure some people either didn't take Economics in school, or slept through it. It's basic "supply and demand" 💸

    idk man I usually go to So What and the food vendors were very cheap and affordable, I honestly thought 1,300 would be enough for WTR and ooooooooh boy and the charging stations? never seen a festival that would charge you for charging your phone.

      We usually try to eat before the show to avoid the food prices once inside. We get stuck time to time with having to eat stuff inside and usually split it between us. They also have free charging within the lockers (if you rent one). I think this is the first year that I saw paid charging stations outside of the lockers.

      @@ViewFromTheCheapSeats Oh man and that daily parking fee though! should've got the parking pass but wasn't thinking. I loved WTR the drive to Florida for the first time was truly the best part. Next year the goal is to go with camping and more than 1,300 lol

    You are 100% correct! Rockville is a HUGE bang for your buck for music SUPPORTERS! Aside from your ticket, you choose how much you can afford to spend on the other amenities. Festivals offer more diversity in all areas.

      They had some wash stations outside of the portas, but they usually run out of water quickly.
