Souness is mental. He thinks its the 80s where the manager turns up to training, knods his head and stands there for a bit with his arms crossed. Then on match day says ‘lads win your individual duels and go out there and express yourself’ and thats it. What klopp does day to day im sure is incredible, multi faceted - and cannot be mimicked by someone just by maintaining ‘business as usual’
    Ridiculous

De Zerbi is onto something with his tactics I'll admit but he's not ready to manage a team with serious expectations and I'm not even talking about the top teams, he's not even ready for teams like Villa or Spurs. He's okay where he is and a few more seasons to fully develop his style and maybe get more than a 6th place finish will help his stock.

3:20 Shankly, paisley, dalglish.....Simon was alluding to the boot room as a previous method of succession planning.
Souness reponds that it was the senior players who brought continuity, to keep the next crop of players in check especially when the new coach comes in.
    Fast forward to today's situation:
Does the next liverpool manager have to keep the senior players on board like salah and van dyjk, and then everything falls into place?
The paradox here is that souness was a senior player himself and also a manager that perpetuated the boot room tradition.
So why isn't he advocating that Pep Lynders is a valid candidate to succeed klopp? Why isn't this being discussed as a valid succession plan?
Maybe he sees a bit of himself in Alonso, being a former player who had leadership on the pitch and maybe that translates well for the modern footballer.
