- From Mitski: So I tried something... I made my own translation of the Italian song "Bella Ciao". I posted it here, but I want to hear your version in your language how you want to make it. My version is inspired by the English version from Tom Waits and Marc Ribot with some help from Google, but I want you to bring your inspiration to it, whatever that might be.

We always sing this song during political rallies, even pride parades sometimes. I sing it with my friends when we meet up. It gives a voice to my anger towards an unjust system, towards a government that wants me dead. This version made me tear up, it's much more vulnerable and intimate than the one I usually sing. this is absolutely beautiful. as an Italian it is amusing to hear a so well done english version especially by a singer of your level, the only thing is that it doesn’t say “i don’t feel frightened anymore” but “because i feel like dying” in the original song

I think because I feel like dying is an important lyric and I would probably keep it personally. All the more, I like this very much
I took it as implication that the singer knows they might not have longer to live, so they no longer feel frightened knowing they tried their best; i.e. they know their passing has meaning
