I had an aunt who became deaf in her adulthood but she knew how to read lips. as children we learn to face people eye to eye because of her handicap and talk to them. My mom was a cafeteria lady when I was a kid, and I still get DMs on Facebook from random people I haven’t talked to in decades that want to know how she’s doing. This woman is making that kind of impact on these kids and Vice versa. It’s so beautiful.

My son was taught sign language around 2. He was regressing at speech & we found out years later he has Asperger’s is dyslexic & has dysgraphia. He’s on the autism spectrum & sign language helped him out so much to express to me what he wanted. It helped sooooo much. I’ll be forever grateful❤

My son just started high school and a boy in his class is deaf, my son befriended him even learned sign language. ❤❤ they are friends now!! My son loves learning new things to sign to him...awesome to see

All the person meant was that she's a great teacher, and what she did to make the school environment more inclusive was wonderful. there's no need to complicate it 😅

This type of teaching gives children a love to learn something new. Some of them will make others smile because they can communicate with the deaf, even if just a little bit. ❤

She gave them a valuable life skill and taught them empathy at the same time. That’s pure wholesomeness right there
When you learn another language, you're closer to another soul.
My son was taught sign language around 2. He was regressing at speech & we found out years later he has Asperger’s is dyslexic & has dysgraphia. He’s on the autism spectrum & sign language helped him out so much to express to me what he wanted. It helped sooooo much. I’ll be forever grateful❤
It's things like this that really give me hope that there is still some humanity left in the world.
This even made the kids feel good because kids usually love helping. Thank you for the teacher that inspired it all. ❤️🍀

She worked there for a reason. It's awesome to be accepted by the individuals that n effort is made for. It's more than any of us, as good hearted human beings or even animals, could ever ask for. Acceptance.
What a fabulous teacher give that teacher a raise
Real education. Not learning about the powerhouse of a cell, but learning actual life skills and things they can actually use in their adult hood, I hope this teacher continues to help teach them sign language because this just so sweet
