Fun fact about Jimin is that he didn’t receive any vocal training whatsoever pre-debut, he used to watch his teammates lesson and then go and train by himself, he really built himself from the ground up and as a fan it has been beyond heartwarming seeing him understand what works better for his voice and seeing him improve with every performance

The blond singer on the far right with the red shirt is Jimin! It's funny you compare him to Michael Jackson cause he's widely considered one of the best dancers in Korea just like Michael 😊 he's the lead vocalist and main dancer for BTS and very very talented
Not only with dancing. It's the way Jimin sings. Many vocal coaches and critics (one is part of committee of Korean Music Awards) likened him to Michael Jackson. I guess his whole vibe just emits Michael Jacksw. His stage presence is compared to MJ, Prince, and even Queen 😂. So it's really fun to see fresh eyes and ears saying the same thing.
Exactly and for him it must be an honor to be compared to him, he has been inspired by MJ but Jimin I think he has surpassed it.

The first time I heard a BTS song was 6 months ago and the first thing I said was 'oh wow, there's someone in there who sounded like a young Michael Jackson!' And then I went ahead and saw him dance and was amazed at how his body just flows so well. And since then I have become a huge fan of this young amazing man, Park Jimin. These guys are TALENTED TALENTED. The one you compared to Michael Jackson is Jimin. It's funny because even his dancing reminds me of Michael Jackson. He is actually one of the main dancers of the group (One of the best dancers in South Korea I would say). He was a top student in contemporary dance. He also learnt other types of dance as well as martial arts...and of course, his voice is unreal! They're all talented to be honest. It's like a group with 7 members and each one of them has the it factor. Much love from Spain!

Yesss another vocal coach falling for jimin's angelic voice💜 I recommend you watch the entire npr tiny desk concert, they sing 2 other korean songs that also showcase their vocals. As for live performances, I recommend the truth untold and house of cards (sung by the 4 vocalists), and I have a feeling you will enjoy their japanese songs ( your eyes tell, let go, stay gold). They all have live performances. BTS members also release solo songs so you can check out the live performances of:
Jimin - lie, filter, serendipity

Jin- awake, Epiphany (try to find live performance with lyrics because that song is our anthem really💜)

My Jiminie is really awesome. He is not just a good singer, he’s also a great dancer. They all are. They are the sweetest and funny boys you can find but also work hard to perfect their craft. I’m 46 years old and I can tell you, they are the best example for today’s youth.
I love your analysis and comments. And yes, Jimin has been mentioned numerous times about being alike to MJ in both dance and vocals. Jimin is really amazing and always impresses and captives audiences in every performance. His live vocals is superb! Suggest to also react to Jimin’s lie, serendipity and filter. You can see how he manages his vocals perfectly even while dancing. He always gives more than 100%. He is amazing.

When I listen/watch orig BTS vids, his voice was naturally already amazing +sang more in his lower range. It's interesting how concerned he's always been about his voice and after only *6* mos.training w/the boiiiz he constantly "felt" he might get cut (he felt it 8x he said), working crazy hard to catch up to years of training, he didn't just "slide" by, or "barely" make the cut, he became Main Dancer + LEAD singer! 💜

And Jimin is yet again snatching another vocal coach, are we surprised he's snatching literally every human regardless of age, gender,sexuality, etc? His voice is very beautiful and unique with an amazing range, believe it or not he had no vocal training until he joined the group and only had a few months to train before he debuted as the lead singer ( main> lead> sub) and he was actually very insecure about his voice in the past and often was hard on himself because he wasn't satisfied with his voice. Now he's confident and truly learned to love himself. The other members are equally as good and have multiple talents. All of them have solos I believe you'd love.🥰
P.S. If i had a dollar for everytime someone compared Jimin to MJ I'd be rich.
You should listen to Jimin's Filter or even better watch the live. He definately has a Michael Jackson video in that as well. I love their BTS songs as well as their solo projects 💜💜💜

They are all so, so talented and they work very hard for it. Jimin, the one you kept noticing, has been very insecure about his voice in the past, but has worked diligently to become the kind of singer he wants to be. He's very MJ not only in voice but also in dance style. V (the one with the darker tone) has an amazing range that you can hear better in other songs. All of the guys (from left to right: J-Hope, Suga, Jungkook, V, Jin, RM, and Jimin) are incredible.
I would love to see your reaction to the rest of Tiny Desk, and would also say check out a live performance of "Your Eyes Tell," one of their Japanese songs. The MTV Unplugged performances are great too but they often get copyrighted.

They obviously can all sing and their live performances are superior to studio versions IMO.
U are right, this is a fun song. they made this song during the pandemic to be light and uplifting to lift everyone’s spirits during such a hard year but the majority of their songs are quite deep, lyric wise. 💜💜💜

Jimin has such a unique, angelic and aesthetically pleasing voice. It's one of the reasons he was the first member that like spoke out to me and ever since that day he has never disappointed. He has always been my bias since the very first day that i found out about BTS and it will probably remain that way until i die. Like he has always been my one and only bias. I'm so loyal ;) He is so pretty as well, like i get goosebumps whenever i see a picture of him or just see him in general. I love him so much you wouldn't even believe.

Ahhh thank you so much for reacting to bts!! They are all amazing singers, and i swear you’ve never seen 7 voices as different as theirs who compliment eachother so perfectly! I was shocked when i was first getting into them bc theu are all sooo different yet they sound heavenly together. As for my favorite performance it’s really hard to tell, but for signing at least i think it’s best to react to their MTV Unplugged performances! They covered Coldplay’s ‘Fix you’ so that’s perfect for starters if you don’t know them still! Oh and just a heads up: there are 3 rappers in the group, so you’ll see them singing less than the vocalists, but they are very good at it nonetheless! I’m so excited to watch more of your BTS reactions, you are so professional and fun to watch💜💜

Can I just say what a frickin delight this video was. First off, I love it when someone just cusses naturally (but not gratuitously). Second, first exposure to BTS is my favourite type of reaction video (along with first penatonix). Finally, aside from Park Ji-Min, what I loved the most was that you really did talk about the hows and whys of the voices. Like the teachers in my family or friend group, you just drop into coach mode in the blink of an eye and then blink again and you're enjoying the performance. To me that's a hallmark of true teacher motivated by their students accomplishments, not a singer who teaches to bridge the gap. Which is not to say singers who teach can't be good teachers. I just suspect your a natural at it.
As for fav BTS song, I'm not sure I can choose just one, but I don't think i've ever seen a vocal coach react to Microkosmos. It's an under appreciated track IMHO. It has less vocal acrobatics but provides a good opportunity to hear each members more natural voice. - OK now i'm off to check out some more of your videos.

Love this! My favorite live performance by BTS is So What cuz they are having so much fun on stage. Sometimes they can get a bit pitchy cuz they just doing all kind of crazy stuff but it really shows their energy on stage. And it's interesting to see how much messing around it takes for them to lose some of the control over their voices.

You should watch the rest of this Tiny Desk concert. The one you like, Jimin, opens the next song and it is gorgeous. The 2019 MMA performance is one of my favorites, but it is 37 minutes long. (Yes, an awards show performance 37 minutes long). It is worth the time, believe me.

loved this video! i love watching ppl reacting to bts, so i found you through that, but i’m so glad i did bc you are pretty amazing, and your videos are very entertaining on top of being educational! and just one thing: it is a kpop thing to sing over a track, but IT IS NOT BTS THING. they sing everything live, even with insanely intense choreographies. sure, there’ll be some backing vocals but they never, and i mean NEVER lip sync. i can’t wait for you to discover more of bts and realize why we all love them so much💜

Loved the reaction! I will leave a little bit of information for you and also some links and suggestions for you to check out more of them.
They have a new single out called BUTTER which is actually their second official all-English single. Their other songs are either Korean or Japanese. Dynamite was their first all English. It would be cool if you could check out their Steven colbert performance of butter.
They are a group from South Korea. There are 7 of them, 3 rappers 4 vocalists. Despite the fact that they all have their expertise, they all sing and dance and they write their own lyrics and produce 90-95% of what they put out, Dynamite is one of the few songs in their discography that they didnt have a hand in writing or composing. RM the leader (blue hair) actually co-wrote and co-produced this song their new single Butter. Their lyricism is usually insane and is one of the main fan attractions. They touch on some pretty heavy subjects in their lyrics and music videos, but they also have fun songs like Butter and Dynamite that are just meant to be enjoyed for what they are. If you do end up checking out the rest of the tiny desk concert. Turn on the captions and you'll see what we mean by their lyrics are beautiful.
They don't do only one style of music, they are the definition of fusion music made well, they cover a range of style from Hip-hop, to pop, to rock, to pop-rock, to R&B, to neo-soul, to Jazz, to acoustics, to straight elevator music, to EDM, they do it all and extremely well. There's something for everyone, in every age group, or background.
They are amazing live performers and do not lipsynch (like ever, it's a running joke in the fandom how bad they are at lipsynching), although they have backing tracks (just like could hear today) because they usually dance and sing at the same time on stage and their choreographies tend to be some of the most challenging in the whole entire industry but also to help support and make the live production sound even fuller even when its a sit-down performance.
You will get requests to react to songs that don't have mvs so when reacting those songs, I recommend you read the translations from the website doolset bangtan as they have the best translations of their lyrics but if you feel more comfortable reacting to the lyric videos, Please stay away from these lyric channels (Jaeguchi and Lemoring) and use these channels instead (af taehyung, zaty farhani, Lynn eksonyeondan and Dial 6137) they have the better lyric translations in video form.

1) 1:39 RM(currently stands for Real Me) : He is the leader (born 1994). Real name Kim Namjoon ( Apart from being the leader he is one of the main producers/songwriters/lyricists for the group. Studio name: Rkive. The IQ on this man is crazy (148 to be exact). Fluent in English, Korean and Japanese. Currently has two solo self-produced projects out (his 2015 Self-titled mixtape RM and his 2018 solo project MONO).
2) 3:14 SUGA aka AGUST D (that's his solo name): His real name Min Yoongi (born 1993). He is one of the main producers/composers/lyricists for the group. Studio name: Genius Lab. He plays the piano and the guitar but he is an amazing pianist, that was basically his first love. Fluent in Korean and Japanese, currently learning English. Currently has two solo self-produced projects out under his alias AGUST D (His 2016 self-titled first mixtape AGUST D and his 2020 solo project D-2).
3)1:44 (black hair/red mic) J-HOPE: Real name Jung Hoseok ( Born 1994). He is their dance leader (helps with choreography and managing stage performances and dance rehearsals). His expertise is street dancing/pop-locking etc... He is also a sub-vocalist. Apart from helping with choreography, he is also a main producer/composer/lyricist for the team. Studio name: Hopeworld. Fluent in Korean and Japanese and trying to learn English as well. Currently has one self-produced solo project out (his 2018 solo project titled HOPE WORLD).

4) 4:54 JIN: Real name is Kim Seokjin (born 1992). He also is a composer and lyricist and producer for the team. The music this man writes is very melody-driven cause he has such a melodic and bright voice. He has written some great melodies for the team as well. He plays the piano and the guitar. He is fluent in both Korean and Japanese. Currently has 2 Solo self-composed and written songs out (Abyss and Tonight)
5) 2:01 JIMIN: Real name is Park Jimin (born 1995). He is also a lyricist and composer and producer for the team as well (he's written some of my favorite melodies for them).He has one of the higher singing voices in the group. He is one of the main dancers for the team, his expertise is contemporary dance as he graduated at the top of his class in Arts school.He is fluent in Korean and Japanese and also learning English. He also has two solo self-composed, written and produced songs (Promise and Christmas love).
6) 3:02 V: Real name is Kim Taehyung (Born 1995). He is also a lyricist, composer, and producer for the team and has written some great melodies for them as well. He is one of the dancers on the team too. He plays the saxophone and the piano. He has the deepest singing voice in the vocal team. He has 4 self-composed, written, and produced solo songs (Scenery, Winter bear, Sweet night, and Snow flower) and is working on a full solo project expected to drop by the end of 2021/beginning of 2022.
7) 1:32 JUNGKOOK: Real name js Jeon Jungkook ( born 1997). He is what you would call a sub-rapper on the team as he can also rap. He is also a producer, lyricist, and composer for the team. He also helps with vocal arrangements and direction on a lot of their tracks. He plays the guitar, the piano, and the drums. He is also one of the main dancers on the team after J-hope and Jimin. His style of dance is more eclectic than anything. Studio name: Golden Closet. Recently, He directed their LIFE GOES ON music video released last summer. He is fluent in Korean and Japanese and also is learning English. He has 1 self-written, self-produced solo song out (Still with you) and is also working on a full solo project which fans are also waiting on.

They are charming. And seeing them having fun adding so much to the song. BTS wear their emotion into the song, always deliver the message across. They do so much performance, but my fave will be the Armypedia songs, Mikrokosmos Jimmy Fallon's, Life Goes On on James Corden's.
Zoe, I never knew that it was possible to adjust the sound of one's voice by consciously moving the larynx up or down. Thanks so much for telling us that and for giving us a demonstration. I don't know the first thing about singing, but it's so fascinating to hear vocal coaches talk about it. There's so much more to it than meets the eye, so the more I learn about singing, the more I appreciate it a good voice when I hear it.
