- Seven more alleged victims have been identified in the three weeks since a Palmetto man was arrested for luring a 5-year-old from a birthday party and then forcing the victim to watch child pornography and engage in sex acts, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

In my neighborhood in the 80s it was a firefighter/ambulance driver that gain the trust of people in the neighborhood. He was anything but a good person
I was molested by two uncle's at age 6 and 8. Also raped three times at age ten by a so called family friend. I told my aunt sis . She asked him did he rape . Of course he said no. He never came to our house again nor did I go to his house. He also had a wife. The wife asked why I didn't come over anymore. She would watch me when I came out of school. Second grade. . He would rape me when she had to work . She was surprised when my aunt sis told her. I asked my aunt to call the police but she didn't. I never forgave her for that. They are all dead now. I still remember the pain. IAM now 64. It never goes away.

As someone who was abused at a young age, the mental pain of abuse never leaves you…. I get flashbacks and have to take mental breaks sometimes. Hearing that he scarred so many kids makes me sad, they’re going to carry that weight with them for many decades.

Unfortunately, many of these predators get released from jail after serving a couple months, that's if they get any jail time at all! They register them as sex offenders and put them on probation and back on our streets. They really need to make a tougher law on them, like putting them away for life or sending them to an isolated islands away from society. What they do to a victim is very traumatic. It really does ruin lives.

If that isn’t the case, all they have to do is give the guy’s name to a family member on the outside to look up. It won’t be hard, everything is public record!! They’ll find out. I'm the oldest of six kids and helped to raise my siblings. As a childhood SA victim of multiple predators, this type of thing is derailing. I luckily graduated still after ending up in all kinds of therapy and even a residential program for a year but my life has been hard ever since. I'm 28 and just now finding a career, something that I have a passion for, something that excites me. I only wish for these children to get the help, time, and attention they need to rise above and be successful after such trauma!

Kathy, I can't stand to imagine it. A creep exposed himself to my daughter so I called the police. We all went to his house. He opened the door just across from his car parked in the complex parking lot with the windows rolled down. The officer knocked and asked the man if he exposed himself to my daughter, and the guy said, "I've been sleeping all afternoon." The cop said "okay, thank you". Then looked at my daughter (age 11) and said, "It's his word against yours."

That’s the thing - the denial that “it never happens to us” is a big problem. But also can some children even explain it when they never learned anything about sex?? Many think it’s the norm with other kids, nothing unusual is going on. Until when they get older and know more, then they understood this was not normal. It can happen for years. Kids say nothing.

Child predators, child abusers have been let go, not even arrested when they admit their crimes because state attorneys will not pick up the cases. It happens all over the US. There are now groups of private citizens out there catching these creeps and exposing them to the public. And turning the information over to the police in hope for an arrest. Some areas will arrest some won't!
It's up to Us the citizens to continue to make enough noise and to fight for our children and to vote in officials that will change the laws to protect our kids and take theses POS off the streets and away from our kid.
He'll get life in prison. It won't be a long one.

This is why I never relax. If I’m out in public, regardless of if it’s a friends, I’m watching my kid like a hawk.
