  • Here is a few of the pan from SS 803 at the Illinois Railway Museum, heading east from Spaulding Tower to somewhere around signal 251.The purpose was to see how many more places we need to adjust the wire to make it better for pan use. We found a few trees to trim too.

    2:19 Whoa, that was close! I thought for sure the pan was gonna foul the wire, you dropped it just in time!

    Did the pan drop automatically, or was it commanded down? In one case, it appeared to be dropped to avoid fouling some wire frogs (coasting thru?), later when the wire got onto the ears and started arcing.

    Should add, really enjoy your stuff. We visited Union 30 or more years ago, looks like it's doing well.
