Paragliding Dhërmi 2024

This summer, I had the incredible opportunity to go tandem paragliding in Dhërmi, Albania, with the skilled pilot Klement Doda. Nestled along the Ionian Sea, Dhërmi is known for its stunning coastline and dramatic mountainous backdrop, making it an ideal location for paragliding.
The day began with a short briefing from Klement, who explained the basics of paragliding and the safety procedures. His calm demeanor and extensive experience immediately put me at ease. We then made our way to the launch site, a picturesque spot on the hills overlooking the azure waters below.
Strapped securely into the harness, with Klement right behind me, we waited for the perfect wind conditions. With a few quick steps, we were airborne. The sensation of lifting off the ground was both exhilarating and surreal. As we soared higher, the landscape unfolded beneath us-crystal-clear waters, rugged cliffs, and the charming village of Dhërmi, nestled between the hills and the sea.
Klement expertly navigated the thermals, allowing us to gain altitude and enjoy an even more breathtaking view. He pointed out various landmarks and shared interesting facts about the area, adding an educational element to the thrilling experience. The flight was a harmonious blend of peaceful gliding and occasional bursts of excitement as we caught stronger updrafts.
The highlight of the flight was when we hovered over the pristine beaches, with their golden sands and the gentle waves lapping at the shore. From this vantage point, Dhërmi looked like a slice of paradise. The entire experience was a perfect mix of adrenaline and awe-inspiring beauty.
As we began our descent, Klement skillfully guided us back towards the landing zone. We touched down smoothly, and I couldn't help but feel a rush of accomplishment and joy. The entire flight, from takeoff to landing, was an unforgettable adventure.
