I have been driving with the mirror adjusted the way he explained for nearly 6 months ...at first it would feel different...but apparently you'll get used to it...believe it's the best way to adjust the mirror ...I have used this in heavy traffic to highway riding..and it has saved me from colliding with the vehicle that comes in the blind spot...come on just think yourself ..why would you need to see the back of your car while driving....this way of adjustment gives more precise results of the vehicle that's very close to you..so there's no need to adjust the mirror in a way that shows the back of your car....the only difficulty you'll face is that is while parking ..I'll adjust my mirror at that time so that I could be able to see the back of my car ..so that I could see where my car is ..it also applies for two wheelers...most of the two wheeler riders adjust the mirror to show half of their shoulders in their mirrors which is totally unnecessary..just think why would you want to see your body in the mirror...the same thing applies for car...why would you want to see the back your car...

Explained the blind spot well. Lot of drivers dont know it. But the main strategy to avoid blind spot is to look over your shoulder before changing lane. That way you dont have to rely on any mirror. It is the international safety standard.

Blind spot is important for right side mirror. Look before you change lane. Shoulder check as you generally change lane from left to right. But in India people change lane from any direction.

I think installing a blind spot mirror is still the way to go. Because lots of people still use side mirrors for parking purposes, and if the side of the car body is not visible in the mirror, then it makes it harder to park. Also adjusting the mirror back and forth depending on you're driving or parking adds another level of hassle

I think the blind spot mirrors will be a good option to remove the blind spot and the reverse parking hassles. But this is a well made video bringing out a very important point. or You can use Vicky's idea for removing the blind spots and use the adjustable blind spot mirror for reverse parking. As the full mirror is much better for removing the blind spot while normal driving (at speed). And the reverse parking, which is normally at very slow speed, we can use the blind spot mirror. This will remove the hassle of changing the mirror position again and again.

Till now I've been using ORVMs, very rarely uses IRVM. The only reason is that the rear passenger's privacy or comfort or to avoid eye contact... I found easy-to-use orvms... There's not much time to look in irvm then check orvms, whenever i need to change lane or do overtake that time first i prepare myself n then changes cars directions...
This setting is of course great for expressway where cars drives so fast....and it's really useful to avoid blind spots...
I'll surely use this on express highway

vic87m: Firstly, very well explained about BLIND SPOT as I'm very sure that many people aren't even aware of it. I'm living in Christchurch, New Zealand and it is very essential to have side mirrors with properly adjusted because the traffic rules are way different as compared to India. However, after knowing the facts of BLIND SPOTS, I am worried about those people who are BLIND with their open eyes because they are the actual cause of road accidents. You can find those idiots on the road anywhere in the world.
Secondly, I would also like to inform everyone on this page that how you resolved the BLIND SPOT with just 2 simple side mirrors as it needs at least 6-8 mirror set (generally used in cargos or long/heavy trucks) to get rid of BLIND SPOT. Keep it up and keep on sharing such informative videos via CZcams.
Finally, I just have to request everyone publicly that if everyone follows the traffic rule properly and moreover sincerely, it will not only change the intensity of the busy traffic in India but also everyone will feel SAFE on the road. I feel so safe while driving in New Zealand just because of one reason that people follow traffic rules and respect the pedestrian even if someone driving at 1-2 AM, when there is no traffic.
A simple change in yourself can change our own country...So what are you waiting for...START IT TODAY! :)

For Blind spot everyone please look over your shoulders towards the direction you want to go, even after you fit extra convex mirror. I am saying on my 15 years of experience in vehicle testing in Automobile Industry in India. i actually calculate %of blind spot (one of the test in my list) in our company vehicles during development phase (alpha beta like software development)

Theoretical u r right but practically its dangerous. Kyu ki har jagah 8 lane, 10 lane roads nahi hote. City me to chipak ke hi aate h sab. Its usable only on broad roads where u drive free mind and take some time to look centre mirror then side mirror etc. But on other roads 99% galat wala hi sahi hai.

PLZ COMMENT AFTER TRYING THIS METHOD.
It works both on highways & in city traffic.
And, Parking is NOT even 0.01% of total driving we do. So it doesnt make sense to ignore this method just because you find it difficult to Park? Are you too lazy to set your mirrors in traditional method during parking? I mean, you are OK with blindspots just coz you are too lazy to adjust mirror during Parking?
Do you guys even know that 30% of accidents are because of Blindspots? And mostly bikers are the prime victims of it? Please contribute something positive so that we can build a safer driving environment. Thanks!

It is difficult for parking and reverse.
So for both blind spots and parking we can use extra mini blind spot mirrors as well☺️
