Gear Review - JOYTUTS SUV Tent - Total Fail

Although I was not able to make this tent work, the company, JOYTUTUS, have had great communication and this tent does have many positive reviews. I will see what they say, and maybe it is something I was doing.

Scott, I followed the instructions sent by the company and had my JoyTutus tent up and attached in just under 15 minutes. I think you should have followed the instructions, I believe that's why they're shipped with the tent.

Middle pole goes in first according to the instructions included with my JOYTUTUS SUV Tent.

I'm just wondering if you got the poles mixed up? You should have been using one of the shorter poles. Now my question to you is where the poles all the same length? If not then you could have switched it out to one of the shorter poles.

Thanks for posting this video! I only found it after failing too. Now I'm wondering if I ended up with this same tent 🤔 You got further in the setup than I did, as I wasn't able to make the first/center pole fit. I am using your video to communicate this issue with the company. Glad to know I'm not alone in the struggle! I'd be interested in knowing if the company provided a reasonable solution, or if you were able to find a good alternative to this tent, as I like the concept.

Just purchased this tent and took 30 min one person. I put side poles in first and then center pole. I then tensioned both sides and center pole was last. I took my time slowly pushing the poles through the sleeves to avoid snags.

Literally a car camping rig... Damn that looks like a fun system if you can get it set.. Some really stout poles, really STOUT, maybe too stout. Looks like a learning curve on that setup. Yeah, two persons would be good.

Why didn't you lay those poles out to make sure that they were all the same length?

My friend and I had same cross pole issue!!!! We are both 75yo and it took 90 minutes to erect on a trial run. We are looking for hacks or solutions to handle that cross pole. Should we hack saw one section shorter by couple inches??? Help!!!

I just recently purchased the same tent and set it up for the first time on a camping trip this weekend .. the center (top) pole was certainly a struggle, I didn't struggle as much as you did though. The side poles went in to the knotches on the bottom just fine. I'm curiuos if you got the wrong sized poles, that's the only thing I can think to explain it.

I would think and first of all you should have laid the poles out and made sure each pole was matched up to where it was supposed to go through the tent

Went cheap and bought this tent. Big mistake. Miserable to put up. Returned for refund. I will spend up for a better engineered tent.
