    This is how you depict your enemy being defeated in a way that glorifies you but also pay respect to your enemy. The Germans were killing the Russians in hand to hand and with guns too even if not as much, as opposed to the pure propaganda piece where your soldiers are superman and you never lose a man and 3 would take on an army like this.
    This is the way a lot of American movies do aswell(We were Soldiers, Wind talkers, American soldiers get killed in those movies even if they usually win the battle), as opposed to the pure propaganda piece, like something you'd see in a Chinese anti-Japanese propaganda film of today.
    With that said, Yes, this movie is pro-Russian propaganda as many have said, but it also pays respect to the Germans better than most films that caricaturize them as demons, also as many have said.

      Didn't fight for freedom. Communist are not free! So, Starlingrad, was taking over 90% by the Germans. The Russians lost the city, but not entirely. Winter set in, cold bad.. and they ( because of Stalin went to RFK American bombers cut off the Germans supply line) Starlin took 80,000 Siberian prisoners to fight the Germans and if they turned around they were shot dead by the Red Army. The red army shot anyone of their own if they did not advance and attack the heavily armed Germans; with sticks, only 1 out of 4-5 Russians had guns. Fucking crazy. Hell is War.

    • @jakenshake7998
      @jakenshake7998 Před 5 lety +3

      big p neither were poor fighters just soviets were extremely under supplied. If you watch the movie “Enemy at the Gates” it’s super realistic based on a small fraction of the russians having a rifle or handgun while everybody else had to resort to knives, shovels, or anything they could find

    • @radioactivemanonfire
      @radioactivemanonfire Před 5 lety +1

      @@jakenshake7998 that is not actually true. The commissars, contrary to popular belief, did not send soldiers to the front unarmed. The Soviets were being armed by the United States with nearly $1 trillion in food, weapons, vechiles, loans, raw materials, anything and everything that helped the war effort (1940s currency, so well over trillions today. ) The German supply lines were stretched thin, so they had less food, ammo, tanks, weapons, and winter clothing compared to their Soviet counterparts.

    • @keithmiller8210
      @keithmiller8210 Před 4 lety

      It is totally true, the russians supplies were fucked in stalingrad because they were surrounded on three sides and under luftwaffe fire and barrages constantly. Stalingrad literally had to be brought back from the dead, and the only way that could have been done was troop numbers, massive numbers, so much so that in circumstances where Aid, food, and weapons were caught at most of the ports by the Germans, or involved German air power destroying the means in which the Soviets would transport this Aid to the Frontline at Stalingrad, (these means were usually US Trucks and vehicle) the Red Army would result in deploying waves of troops (men women young children and even the elderly)to recapture Stalingrad and push back the invaders. Often troops would be lacking rations, having very little ammo if any before he was even deployed. They were able to give PPSH s to like 90% of there men later on in 44 and 45 due to russias new interna l industrial triumph that was rapid nationwide once they had finally made The nazis fallback. But recapturing stalingrad was key-the key to eventually Berlin and fucking everything east of it lol hitlers lebensraum was mostly inherited by another dictator.
