So yes, she’s certainly not ‘Down t’mine’ but don’t underestimate the drip-drip-drip psychological effect on one’s confidence and self-worth - it can (rather cruelly and perversely) undermine your ability to carry on innovating and create fresh, new work that you’re proud of (in colloquial terms, losing your mojo), any creative person’s life blood.
The best way to tell that a looper is live and not prerecorded is when they make a mistake. The mistake gets into the loop, and then you hear it over and over and over during the song. That makes looping really risky, so you have to be pretty good to pull it off.

She's not lip syncing, she always sings live (you can also hear it in her voice that it's not pre-recorded) The problem is that the person who uploaded this to youtube didn't do a very good job, and so the audio is completely out of sync (watch her hit the tamberine at the beginning, and the clapping etc).
To all please note that the sound is confirm out of sync. Obvious when you what the host talk at almost the end of the video. KT Tunstall is a great performer. You can watch many of her youtube video to realize it. Hope all have your doubt cleared and don't criticize her being lip singing just because you are not observance.

The audio and the video are out of sync by a fraction of a second. KT's doing it all live, it's not prerecorded. I've seen Phil Keaggy doing it dozens of times, he's a master at making loops on the fly. In fact, I'd bet that KT's probably seen Keaggy and worked some of his ideas into her performance.
