My middle school doesn't have a Volleyball team so ever since 5th grade I've been practicing volleyball by my self,but I am so excited for next year so I can do the tryout and hopefully get on the team! Thanks to you I am confident that I will make the team 😊
Good luck, and same I always wanted to play volleyball in elementary, but it was only for the 7th and 8th grades at my school. But I’m in high school now and I made the freshman volleyball team!!

I like how she is a coach because now I know what they think of in players.
My #1 piece of advice would be to ask questions. When I say that I mean literally find anything to ask about. Like if you keep shanking passes ask how to fix it, even if you know what you’re doing wrong. It shows coaches that you’re responsible, that you’re coachable, and that you want to get better. This has always helped me during tryouts so it might work for u too :))

Heyy!! I am a literal beginner and have been practicing at home whenever I have the chance to. Tryouts are on Thursday and I can’t get a good set or overhand serve, but hey, practice makes perfect!!

I used to play volleyball in middle school, mainly in 8th grade.I'm now a junior and haven't played since 8th grade, so around 2-3 years. At my highschool you're automatically on the team and allowed at practice, so we don't have traditional tryouts. But today is my first day of practice since middle school and I'm really scared. You're videos have been really helpful to me this summer! I've been practicing on my own so I don't end up falling behind and I feel like I jave been doing pretty well and know what to expect now! Thank you Koko!
Update #1: First day of practice and turns out it is a tryout so not everyone there will make it on the team. I'm very proud if myself and how I did today. My sets and receives are not perfect but I can see how much I improved over the summer. When serving I made the ball go over about %50 of the time! I'm so happy to finally get back into volleyball after so long🥰
Update #2: So its been almost a week and I forgot to make an update but. I MADE THE TEAM!!!! I've only had three official practices but I feel I'm already improving so much! My coach said it was between me and one other girl for libero, which is the position I really want to play! I'll find out tomorrow!

Tryout tip! I am not super skilled,but I know what tryouts are like. Be um it’s kinda hard to say, but just make people like you. I mean, nobody really wants a super anti social teammate that can’t communicate, nobody wants a super sassy teammate or a controlling teammate or one that insults them. Like, treat peopl the way you want to be treated; with respect.the coaches will notice your teammateing skills. And for good ness sakes, CALL THE BALL

One of my neighbors used to be a volleyball coach and she is really helping me set, overhand serve, and receive. Another one of my neighbors used to play volleyball and do cheer. My mom, my sister, and my grandmother also used to play volleyball. They are all really helpful and so are you. 😊 Tryouts are over for me this school year but I’m definitely going to tryout next year and I have confidence that I’m going to do well 😊.

I used to watch these videos when I was in 4th grade saying that when I go to middle school I'd be so excited for trying out, and now I'm entering 7th grade (for me it's the 1st year of middle school) and tryouts are at the beginning of the year, and I'm still very excited 🤩

update: i would’ve made the team, but because of my grades last year, the coach wanted to let other girls with eligible grades to tryout instead of me only playing half the season which is fair

I made the team ☺️ how? I have no clue I’m not that good at all so I’m really confused and the people on my team are pretty confused too 💀 I’m mostly just good at spiking and setting my passing needs A LOT of work. My practices are usually good there’s just one girl and she’s mean she kept saying “that’s your call” I had already hit it once she should’ve came and hit it 😔😭
Played volleyball in high school and I’m thinking of rejoining in college but super scared because I hate setting (always hurt my finger) and just really scared. You have been so helpful and I subscribed so fast !
I think it’s because you’re striking at the ball when you’re volleying. I did that once and hurt my finger.

Don’t be! Today is my last day of tryouts and also the day they are choosing the teams. I never even played volleyball as a sport a day in my life, but all I gotta say is be prepared to run! When they say get on the line you are running! I have to run for 10 min thought.

I have tryouts this august and I’m literally terrified. My high school doesn’t have a boys team but I’ve been practicing with the varsity girls and I think I have a decent foundation now. My best skill by far is setting, but I’m really short. Only 5”8 (as a guy). So idk if that’s gonna be a possibility. But yk what I’m down to be a libero I guess lol.

My spandex had a neon pink stripe down the side but even if you play well and have a good mined set, taller you might not make the team aka because I didn’t. But we’re going to try aging
I tried out again and made the team, I had a lot of fun and grew a little bit during the season but after the season I did camps and open gyms with our rec department. I also play with some other girls in my pe class. I have improved way more out of the season. And it’s getting to the time of the year and I’m moving to jv hopefully

My varsity team is so so good and volleyball is my schools sport so idk if being that tall is enough to make the team (I have played before and do have experience).
