Did you guys know that Switzerland is declared to be the happiest place in the world, according to The World Happiness Report issued by Sustainable Development Solutions Network for United Nations? And to top it all Zurich is the city with the best quality of life in the world.
It’s the largest city in Switzerland but on a world scale it’s rather small. With only about 400,000 inhabitants, Zurich is not even the capital. The capital is Bern. The Swiss have deliberately avoided naming a capital city in order to keep the power of each canton (federal state) in balance. This is because the cantons were originally sovereign states and they were united as equals when Switzerland was constituted and they still have a strong degree of independence. The cantons are governed at the federal level, but also have their own constitutions, parliament, government, and courts.
Another interesting thing about Zurich is that only two thirds of its residents are actually Swiss citizens. Germans and Italians make up the next largest population groups, which is part of the reason why the city, as almost all Switzerland speaks four languages: German, Italian, English, and French

I must say I have taken the time to watch two videos of Growing Up Without Boarders. I say travel is my class room. I love how she has her girls learn through this. I didn't even know about the 10 hour watch. I learned something new tonight. LOVE. This is why I totally started my foundation of building mztravelinghips, so my kids could have, and know something. Thank you.
Living in California have been in a few earthquakes. I owned a Foster's Freeze (soft serve ice cream and food) when we had a bad quake one time no one had electricity so we put up a earthquake menu! Sold everything that did not require cooking. All other places closed up (Jack in the box, McDonalds, etc) We sold out of every thing we were so busy. Enjoy your videos. Very educational.
Luke family i ❤ so much may god bless all of your family .from 🇱🇰
Thank you for another great travel experience with your family! Switzerland is so pretty.
Ah...great! I'm so glad you enjoyed traveling with us!!!
Hello, Hello i am getting to know this place by hard, and the more i watch it the more i like, and Kinder city, means children city and really beautiful for the kids and i don't think you can ever be bored in Switzerland so much to see and do, and i am so anxious to see you all and i am so happy to see your videos as you all light up my day and thank you so much for these beautiful videos Jerome from Florida
I just started today watching your videos today. This is the third one I have seen on Switzerland my favorite dream country I wish to see. Because of my handicap and use of walker I will never get to see it. So I live in Kansas City Kansas so I watch all the Switzerland and different videos on many countries daily on CZcams.com. Switzerland is my favorite and then Norway. Thank you for sharing your videos and the exciting things you have seen and done. Your girls are beautiful and its good to see how they enjoy making the videos as much as the traveling and learning of the different things they have seen. I will try to see all the ones on Switzerland first then view the rest. God bless and keep you all always.
Cant wait to return. Will be there this Nov-Dec and my first time in Zurich. Thanks for this great video . To travel is to live and is the best education that we can have
The stairs on the Uetliberg tower used to be free. But when the hotel owner extended his hotel without a license and had to take it down again and pay a fine, he started charging for climbing the stairs.
The Lindt place you visited in Klichberg wasn't just a shop but the actual factory. The whole street sometimes smells like chocolate. Lindt chocolate bought abroad is usually also made in a factory abroad and tastes noticeably different (not as good).
That was fun to watch even though I live there!
That’s interesting what you say about the taste being different. We noticed that especially in the US. They don’t use the same ingredients. I’m just imagining right now what it would be like to smell chocolate when you’re walking outside 🤩😋 Glad you enjoyed the tour of your hometown!
Her darling girls will be superstars in the near future. Great video, I am on my way summer 2020.
Wonderful videos I enjoy watching all of them!!!
Thanks so much! You're so sweet!
Welcome to Switzerland ♥️🇨🇭
🙌👍
Watching from Tennessee. Love your channel and videos. Keep on traveling and sharing.
Thanks for the comment Sherry! We love to know where everyone is watching from. It makes us feel more connected.
We drove many time through those Tennessee mountains. It’s beautiful!
What a gem thank you
Thanks!
Thank you so much for this wonderful video and you make me feel i'm already there and i can hardly wait as i sit on pins and needles, and each passing day I've grown so attach to all of you as my family, you all have a great day, bye bye Jerome from Florida
I stayed in the Dolder Grand once.It was very nice!. There were double doors back to back at the entry for each room. I haven't seen that before. I think it is done that way to make the rooms more sound-proof. I asked for and bought one of their old room keys.It is an enormous heavy key.
I watch again as i enjoy so much and something worthwhile to see many times again as you have so much to see and do in such a small place called Switzerland, with somebody you love so much to do all this with, and i'll see you all pretty soon now Jerome from Florida
Great Video! It’s really cool how you talk to your daughters and how you show them different places. They definitely make a smart impression to me, all of them.
Thanks! They're seeing so many fantastic places and really discovering the world.
Loved this video, very natural and informative 👍
Thanks Mike!
Hi Chantelle, i am going to wait till i get settle in, and it would be such a pleasure to be able to see all of this with Marina, and i would let her decide what to see and make all the plans as i would just be happy just being there, and thank you so much for this upload, Jerome from Florida.
Excellent video with lots of joy and useful information, thank you from Oslo.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Wonderful family.Love to watch your travel videos
Thanks! I’m so glad you’re enjoying the videos!
I like this video and swizalend from India
Don't forget to visit the Technorama (Winterthur) and the Verkehrshaus (Luzern). You will like both of them :)
Yes we need to come back again to visit it since we ran out of time. I'll look up Verkehrshaus since I have not heard of it yet.
Both are worth a single day. At the Verkehrshaus, just for example, you could also visit an IMAX-cinema.

If you ever would like to visit Basel and have a private tour guide (without mention or shown at the video itself), I would be pleased to help :)
Really liked the museum.
This seems to be a very charming place, I hope I can visit sometime in the future when all this is over. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much! And please keep up the great job! Subscribed!!
I’m sure you’d enjoy it. Thanks for the sub! 🙏🏻🤩
nice video indeed thanks
Thanks! 🙌🤩
I got interested with the Strassebourg video. I used to live across the river from there and went to Mamuth (mammoth) food store there in the late 1970's. The cheese aisle was the largest i have ever seen in my life. Durinrel looks like it has expanded a lot too , another awesome video. This video is cool too. Mounds of all of the Lindor chocolates , wow i would have spent money there. I would love to have seen a look inside the boat with the sewing machines myself. I have 22 machines all over 100 years old. There is a museum of sewing machines in Switzerland in i would love to go to in Durten, just south of Zurich. I am subscribing!!! such fun. I am from Canada.
That’s amazing! Wasn’t that neat that boat with sewing machines on it? I think it was a special “event” that you can tour the lake while learning to sew. We’re originally from ON, Canada.
Thanks for subscribing!
Is there much to do in Basel if spending a couple of nights ? Thanks for the vlog 👏🏻👏🏻
Was fun to see my hometown with you guys😎
Glad we could bring you on a tour of your hometown. I’m curious if we were able to show you anything new? 🤷♀️
@@GrowingUpWithoutBorders no not really. But it was fun nevertheless 😀
So much Nice
Good Job girls
Keeb doing the nice video..🇧🇷
Thanks so much! 🤩💕
Interesting that Angelique loves fashion because she looks like a little model and always so photogenic in the pictures you put in the videos.
Aw..I’ll let her know that you said that.
How long will you be traveling abroad and where are you originally from? Enjoying your videos so much and learning so much from your charming family.
Thanks! We're originally from Canada but living in Switzerland now. We'll continue to travel as much as possible!!!
Does Zurich Switzerland have any amusement parks? I'm watching from Los Angeles California!!!
Not really an amusement park. The closest real park would be in Rust Germany...not too far away and it's called Europapark. czcams.com/video/V9xtEzt3STU/video.html
Hello,Hello Hello again, the more i see this place the more i love you all so much, and that walk and i try to do my best i could, never keep up with you, and i don't know if you would want to keep up with me, as i have been trapped down here in Florida to long meaning sitting to much as they have a heat wave everyday, from May and still pending in almost October next week, when i see the Doc. on Monday the 1st to tell me about my blood test., anyway my beautiful family i can hardly wait to see you all as you brighten my day up bye bye Jerome from Florida
Yeah. The Florida heat can get to you I’m sure. I’m glad you’re still enjoying all of our videos.
Oh it got cooler and i'm doing much better walking, and i think i'll do even better in your weather and you got the best videos, and my doc say i got a young body, and don't even mention my blood test, but i really feel good, but i'm anxious to meet you all bye bye anyway you mention Lindt chocolate and lindor, and i love those little bits thats my desert.
Hows switzerland in the winter to live? Do you still go out and do activities or is it too cold?
Many people spend time in the Alps and enjoy skiing and all the other winter sports. They have outdoor and indoor skating rinks in different cities.
There are still outdoor markets and during Christmas time the Christmas markets of course.
The temperature all depends on where you visit some areas of the country don’t go much below 0°C Zurich however would be colder.
Don't know why I've taken so long to watch these videos! very interesting and informative. If it's 2018, I'm trying to figure out what ages the girls would have been?
Glad you’re enjoying them. The girls would have been 10, 12 and 14.
Zurich seems nice, and calm. It seems like 'you can swing a cat- even if, he, reluctantly only agrees.
Watching your videos from Roy Washington. I enjoy them very much.
Wish i was there.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The tower used to be free for ever they only started charging recently.
I guess it’s a great way to raise money since everyone want to see the view at the top.
haha it's like I'm already traveling but u haven't left Canada yet !
That’s awesome! We hope you feel like you’re coming along with us on the journey. 😉
hehe I do ! ;) Thanks for the awesome videos , they are really educational too!

Very good guy. I would gain a 100 lbs with all the chocolate there. Terry
"Look at this viewpoint these people get when they are sleeping in there", she said. I'll bet you they don't see anything when they are sleeping in there.
Hi
Hi!😁
