- Apple's watchOS 5 update, coming this fall to all Apple Watch models with the exception of the original Apple Watch, introduces a fun new feature that mimics old school walkie talkies. With Walkie-Talkie, you can connect to your friends and family and have push-to-talk conversations right on your wrist.
This video will demonstrate Walkie-Talkie in action and give you a better idea of what you can expect this fall. - Věda a technologie
Walkie Talkie has saved me when it comes to communicating with my elderly mother as texting was difficult for her
how to use walkie talkie -
Step 01 - YOU NEED A FRIEND
I really like this feature.
I see me in a meeting and my friends keep sending me cringy stuff
A. Zingg turn on DND
I love this channel so much
Keep up the great work
No longer having to yell at my wife from across the house will be freakin awesome! “Huh, what was that, can’t hear you through the walls! Just come here!” Now it’s just a quick and quiet talk to the wrist!
Joey Lopez we will both be using it for the same reasons!
My Walkie Talkie App looks nothing like this.. it just has a list of everyone from my phone book regardless if they have a watch or not. None of the names are in card form. And I also don’t have the option to toggle if I’m available or not.
Would this work between a series 2 and a series 3?
Is it available on GPS only watch series 4?
How do I get the icon to stay lit on my watch face? When I move my hand to look at it Icon lights up and then goes out
I can not find it. Not in the app store. All i could find was Voxer.
Yes I can see myself using this and I have a couple friends with Apple Watch and a couple more who will be getting one
So why didn’t you try it outside if your worried about how it sounds outside in packed places
Dose it work on WiFi and 4g. Will it work On WiFi without internet if all contact are on the same WiFi.
Mohammed Al-Saie “WiFi without internet”
What
The icon blinks when raising then turns off
So this is essentially a Nextel reboot...
bretwashere yep
Will it use your data pack or what?
Everything involving internet (like this tech) uses data...
Wondering if it will be a battery hog.
I will probably barely use battery. It makes the celular feature more useful since calls drain the battery.
3rd comment!
also CANT WAIT TO INSTALL WatchOS 5 ON MY APPLE WATCH
Osquel Parra why
The problem is, if I have toggled the Walkie Talkie Available Bar and if someone sends me a message which I dont wanna reply. That is a very awkward situation.
The way I see it, if you're switched to available then you're wanting to talk. If you don't want people sending you anything then go unavailable. If you want to talk to others but not a certain person, just delete them from the list and they won't be able to reach you unless you add them back.
👍👍
Gimmick, defining gimmick. And it’s a good thing it is, other wise a voice blaring in at the most inopportune time can get annoying. Yes, you can set the Not Avaiable, but you would have to remember to do so.
If you receive a message, and miss it, can you replay it?
You cannot. It essentially uses FaceTime audio to use the feature, which is how it is able to deliver messages instantly. After about 5 minutes of being inactive you'll have to connect back to the person you would like to talk to but that doesn't take long.
"My worry is... at a theme park and its very loud, this app might essentially be useless" OMG! All source of communication would be useless at loud places, the app has nothing to do with it. Oh and regarding "messages going unnoticed", what do you expect? is a walkie talkie! sometimes people listen, sometimes they don't. End of story.
.
This is so dumb. This is the same as the audio sending in iMessage.
Marc Reinecker I feel this way as well. I want to know how is it different from the iMessage audio messages.
Dan’s speaking cadence is still horrible. Talk like more naturally like you’re speaking to a familiar individual. You sound like you’re reading from a paragraph full of commas.
