Revelation 22:18-19 (ESV) "I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book, and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book."
Proverbs 30:6 (ESV) "Do not add to his words, lest he rebuke you and you be found a liar."
    Afterthought/More Info:
The Eastern Pennsylvania Mennonites are one of the strictest Mennonites. According to a fellow Mennonite, they most likely fall between traditional and conservative. They do use cars, but most have black cars. The men black hats, white/light color blue, and black/gray pants. The women wear cape dresses, hair pulled up in a bonnet, or if younger and have yet to be accepted Christ wear their hair down in two braids. These outfits are the attire in every activity. They are allowed to use some technology but the internet and TV and those akin are prohibited. Men and women are separated in church settings. This is what I saw and learned from these people. Though they are strict with rules the women were very friendly, however, I think they have gone to the extreme in certain areas of life. If they truly desire to be separate as the Bible says that is good, but to the extent, they have taken I believe is too far. However, I do respect them for their endeavors.

I agree that doing specific dress codes etc. does not have to be legalistic but can so easily become that.

I know exactly what you mean. We attend church at an EPM church and have made relationships with some of the families, but we are certain we will never actually 'join'. Mark 7 seems relevant in relation to where communities like this can head. God is definitely not in a box. God bless you!!

Legalism can be a good thing. The internet has a lot of bad things so I can't blame them. Thanks for the video.

i think the head cover for women should be uniform , the same for all.... here in Norway back in the day when several denominations still practiced head covering then the women wore hats , and it became a fashion element to it... maybe its even abit costly , so i think womens head covering should be uniform , and cover all the hair... one of the churchfathers rebuked the roman church because the women had started just wearing a symbolic piece of cloth on their head that didnt cover the head

Yes you do have a point by how much of the head should be covered.

Im struggling to understand why God hates colors and patterns that arent plaid and minimal florals.
Like the world is just black, beige, utiliatarian and ugly and it makes me think God is just black beige utilitarian and ugly.
I dont understand how mennonites dress glorifies God

No problem. I mean I don't think those people who practice has anything to do with God's view but rather to not be a distraction to others. The idea is that only to your own husband do you then show yourself in an attractive manner.
