its all bs. fins, rail shape, concave or vee. how about rail bumps or wings. we need to pay attention to rocker. the average surfer on average waves won't feel the difference. Then what about an asymetric tail? So much going on. just find one that feels okay and go from there.

Yeah I think as you advance, you notice these things more. When you’re still learning the nuance of all this just doesn’t add up during the activity itself.
Great points - I think it all matters, just to what degree.
