I was in a marriage for 24 years and 4 months. I couldn't be myself and couldn't do anything right in the sight of my ex wife. I was 22 and she was 20 when we got married. She was born into an Apostolic Church and I got saved at 21. We couldn't go to the beach, the movies, skating, etc because they preached that it was worldly and she did too. I wanted to go to football games and got crucified for doing so. I had to hide and suppress my emotions, gifts, hopes and dreams. We divorced in 2009. I had to go to therapy and be placed on medication. Since then, my life has taken a 180 degree turn. I've been on 4 cruises, wrote and produced 7 songs and have 2 books on Amazon. All that hiding is finally over🙌

Thank you for sharing. My divorce was final in 2021 after 27 years. I thought it was the end of my life. We raised our kid, sent them through college, have grandkids and now I find myself alone and really don’t know where do I go from here. I tried holding on to my marriage but I was fighting by myself so I had to let go.. I can say so much, but thank you for your testimony which gives me hope for tomorrow and my future.

Jesus said to Peter Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat. A pastor has alerted me to a certain level of truth about this verse that i never considered in the past. And to your point the true self that we hide from the world is where we are most broken and love is required. We need to acknowledge broken parts of ourlives and take them to Jesus and not hide them from the world, i believe it will take away the opportunity for Satan to sift any of us like wheat.
