    Wow - this is awesome info Tony! We will be staying at AC hotel Atocha in January. With this, I might not need to buy the Titulo Turistico. Looks like the 001 route will cover a lot of places we want to visit in Madrid.

      @ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal  Před rokem

      If you are staying near Atocha and plan to make the most of line 001 you can certainly skip the Título Turístico.

    Love your videos! Thank you so much! Very informative. Will be in Barcelona and Madrid next week! Is this service still free? We’re staying at Hotel Riu in Madrid. Still thinking if I need to book Hop on hop off in Madrid. Booked one in Barcelona already.

      The 001 bus service is still free (but be aware you are not allowed to use it if you are carrying large suitcases). All the best!

    Free bus service ! Wow !!! That's progressive :)

    • @ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal
      @ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks Jimmy, it could be progressive if it were not for the fact that it is a gimmick more than anything else. But rather than debating the merits of the initiative, our concern here is to make sure everyone knows how to make the most of it!

    Hello Tony! Thank you so much for your informative and helpful videos! :) In your opinion, is it worth buying the Tourist Card in Madrid if this line, which looks like it gets you to the main tourist attractions, is free?

    • @ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal
      @ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal  Před 10 měsíci +1

      If you are staying near the 001 line, the tourist transport pass won't probably be a good investment.

    Very helpful videos for my upcoming trip! Can you clarify validating the ticket? If I get a paper ticket, do I still need to do something with a multi card? Or is it one or the other that gets validated? Thanks!

    • @ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal
      @ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal  Před 8 měsíci +2

      Hi Sandra, you either get a ticket from the driver, or validate your trip with your MultiCard, one or the other. Remember you cannot use Madrid city buses with suitcases, only carry-on bags.

    Is bus 001 still free and operational?

  • @ThePongsatorn
    @ThePongsatorn Před 2 měsíci

    Thank you for your recommendation. May I ask a question , for ordinary bus , how to buy the ticket, with the driver or only with ticket machine ?

    • @ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal
      @ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal  Před 2 měsíci

      The best thing is to pay with a Multi Card, explained on this video czcams.com/video/dXaVX0Pag08/video.html You can also pay the full fare with a contactless card, but in that case you will pay the full fare, more expensive. You can also buy the ticket from the driver, paying also the full fare.

    Hi Tony, is this bus 001 would allow me and my wife to board going to Atocha station with both have bag packs and carry on luggages?

    • @ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal
      @ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal  Před měsícem

      Hi, you cannot board Madrid local buses (including 001) with mid-sized or larger bags. But one carry-on piece of luggage is accepted. If you are carrying a large backpack and a carry-on the driver might not like it.
