So its strange , About 65 seconds to 60mph And 2mins and 42-45 seconds to 90mph . I find it odd how they seem to accelerate like third rail units , doesent anyone else? They arent slow , but alot slower than expected under AC power. You can hear me tapping my fingers at some points as i got sort of frustrated that the driver decided to always use notch 2 and 3 for majority of the time, when he could have blitzed it out of the station at notch 4, unless they are told not to, i dont think so but i could be wrong? Im not unfamiliar with drivers usung full power on my local line , so this was odd to me, esspeically with the appropriate distance . Again no major critisism, but i really hoped the driver would just floor it after 5 mph. But nope. He decided its soft performance day. Usually electrostars perform with about 45 to 47 seconds to 60mph on OHLE (AC power) and 63 to 70 seconds to 60mph on third rail. These trains seem to perform like its on third rail despite using AC . Im still not sure whether its the driver's using notch 3 power and not notch 4 , whether the trains are on a constant incline, or whether the trains are ACTUALLY limited to third rail levels of power intake despite being under the wires. Its odd. Ill still have to do more research in my own time, and maybe even ask drivers questions (if im feeling brave enough lol)
@@BryanZhang-td6mw it is, they are all powered. The motors just have lower power distributed among all the motors. The total power is capped that is all. A lack of addition circuitry /windings to supply AC power. So its limited to the max output of a 4 car train. I found out on rail forum
I got 377704 under the wires, and it was a massive improvement over whatever unit was in your video. Just watch - my unit was about 40-45 seconds faster up to 90mph than your unit was.
I lowkey think it was on a downhill but only slightly. It would make sense in the other direction that it was 67 seconds almost. This is why i think they are infact third rail restricted even on AC. even today. One way to tell properly is to look at how long it takes to accelerate between 40 to 50mph 50 and 60mph 60 nad 70mph The total time taken between these speeds will truly reveal if its faster on AC or not removing the gradient factors etc Ill explain why So in my other videos everytime i would go towards watford junction etc the train would take longer than the alloted time on third rail. Even when the driver seemed to go full power a bit earlier With my footage of it going towards wembley central from Harrow and wealdstone it was quicker in that direction. So its probably a slight downwards gradient out of harrow and Wealdstone. Which is okay. Also. I managed to get a driver that hit 97mph!!!!! 377s rarely ever get to achieve that!! Ill upload it later. Ill try to get a fast performance again soon. So perhaps i can make a compilation of (restricted 377/7 power to near 100mph) or something like that. I firmly believe they are roughtly the same speed on thirs rail as they are under the wires. At the moment at least. Until i get more footage in both directions

But either the drivers are slow pokes OOORRR , the trains are software limited to third rail power even using OHLE equipment. Because they are so limited. Its not slow by any means , just slower than all other electrostars on OHLE so far. I sure hope its not limited and that the drivers were resisting the use of full power. Check out my class 379 videos for a good example of acceleration power on an electro star.

I hope they run these as 10 car sets, they did that 5 years ago.
Mmhmm. Would be cool , they kind of need it tbh. When I rode them they were so packed full of people on the west London line.

They should run up to Tring soon and continue as 8 car as I think that’s more reliable
@Arbiter50productions do you know if its certain ? I think the 10 cars are better since more capacity and they also have more seats
