Android had an Android Beam feature to share files with a tap but that was discontinued and it wasn't as intuitive as this new iOS feature. Do you guys want this feature in Android back? 🤔
Any Android device with NFC capabilities can use Android beam today as well😊😊
Yes
Yes. I was going to say Android beam used to provide some of these features in the past. I remembered sharing the CZcams video I was watching in my phone to my friend by tapping, sharing pictures also through tapping, but didn't use it regularly.
Android should bring it back bigger and better
Man why is Android/Google so shit at marketing
They have so many cool features but cannot market them at all. They literally needed apple to bring this feature back again.
No matter how you feel about apple they are the best at marketing and product design.
@@N-methyl1phenylpropan-2-aminedesign....😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

That animation is everything

Nokia Slam?
Wait so is this why my old latitude d520 has an IR sensor?? To share files?
But thats damn slow
Nokia and Sony Erricson : we made that 1.5 decades ago
Whatever they will be earning millions to let Apple use it
Including samsung. Samsung s3 has a thing that can be shared if they are touched together.
@@Amorousstake4lol no. Apple just made their own, better version. They don’t have to pay Nokia for it.
Who tf still calls it Sony Ericsson
exactly
Android already had something similar like sharing data over NFC.
Doesn't work this seemlessly tho
Also android copied airdrop 😂
Called Beam

Remembering me of Infrared Sharing Method in symbian ancient phone 😂
Getting a MP3 song into iPhone is an adventure by itself
Weird, I’ve actually found it too easy at times. If I just open an mp3 file on my Mac in the Music app it automatically gets added to my library and syncs to all my devices instantly without me even asking.
Lol what bro. There’s literally apps in the App Store that have a search bar tja searched CZcams. You can either use the video URL or title and it will find it instantly and ask if you want to download the video or the audio, and in what quality. I have like 20gb of music on my iphone that I got this way. I also download any video I want and I don’t have CZcams premium😁

People need to understand it's not just about the functionality or the technical aspect of it. Apple as a brand doesn't implement a lot of new things themselves but take already implemented stuff and make it look better and feel better.
That's why whenever Apple comes up with a new feature it doesn't have a lot of bugs since it has already been tested on the android masses years ago and they've taken all that feedback and incorporated it with their Apple UX
wt happened to his eyesight?
@@TARROO99seema weird lmao
Mention one feature in the last five years that android has introduced and had bugs
iOS 16 launched last year and still to this day there are so many bugs in it (almost everyone is saying it).
Apple is definitely good at marketing and branding and iOS is smooth but saying iOS doesn't have bugs is just a cliche that doesn't have any truth to it
Smoothness and being bug free are two totally different things
@@poopsickle2411 means?
@@ifrankenstein7455using I phone for 3 years I didn’t face any irritating bugs sometimes it feels battery draining fast anyway now i get average of 6 hour screen time, Till now I didn’t face any lag or stuck in phone while gaming also still butter smooth
Reminds IR feature in my old Sony erricson ❤
Obviously Everyone forgot, the same feature was first introduced by Nokia Lumia phones, 'Slam to share'😢
Being an Android fanboy i can say, this is just amazing
I had this feature in my Nokia 603 on Symbian S60 10 years ago. Although not the same animations😅
Man that animation's smooth as butter....
Not looking so good animation , apple will most probably replace it with a better one
This is really smart. I can see many people switching to iphones just to try this with their friends. Kinda like the blue and green bubbles. Apple really knows how to convince people to buy their products even if it's not really the best option, imo.
Android Beam, NFC shares lacked 2 things - quality/physical-chip consistency; and a default action (contact share). You need to trigger the share first, THEN tap/connect.
I rememebr to share a contact you juat have to open the page of the required contact and bring the phones together then an animation will show and when you tap the screen the contact will be shared.
It's Great, But IDK if this trend will work in India :) WhatsApp BAST lol
It will. It works literally anywhere. Apple features literally have nothing to do about the country unless it has to do with like maps or gps
Simply amazing!
Why

Andorid used to have that. Everything is about that animation, graphic and mainly that visual satisfaction. Android had Name Drop, Screensaver, those widgets and all, but iOS regined it so much, that it looked like a completely new feature.
Nfc, ar blaster, infrared light. This feature has always been around since the days of flip phones.
They are not the same???
Just wait for a bit and some solo developer will pop out with a app that does the same as what happened when they introduced floating island

which is considerably worse than airdrop
@@dread8900false,
it can transfer 1gb in 5 seconds or less
just by making the phones close
simply back to infrared era
I think samsung tried something similar back in 2012-ish called samsung beem or something… so I am pretty sure sure there are multiple ways to do this .. using wifi proximity, nfc etc
Apps for this are already under development and they might require shizuku

NFC with animations 🫠🗿
But its cool
Can anyone tell me how to use this or activate this
you need iOS 17
This like feature i have used with Nokia feature phones back 2003-04
Android had this long ago except without the animations
That's NFC with extra steps
Yes but it's hilarious
Nah, nfc doesn't have a proprietary chip and have enough bandwidth, sharing media like video especially is exponentially faster on iphones, I've been an android user in the past. Honestly airdrop is extremely reliable and much superior.
Also an extra bonus, if you have the ecosystem sharing files is as simple as pressing copy on one device and paste in the other, nearly instant photo sharing for quick edits.
@@prathavjuloori78761st: airdrop or similiar, dont use nfc, they hse bluethoot, wifi and wifi direct
2. In the past year both nearby share and quick share got way faster and less buggy than airdrop (i have both recent androids and iphones)
3. Tried sharing a 1gb video with Android beam (nfc) and in about 5 seconds it transferred it successfully
No, it’s NFC with less steps

As a iphone hater,i can say Android also has a similar feature as NFC,but tbh(majority of the users don't even know such a feature exists, and also it's not so great, either). But this iPhone integration of that feature, combined with that sexiest animation,is so damn good.
This feature was in my Sony ericsson w550 we used to call it infrared
Arey Bhai, do your research first, this feature was there in Android via NFC since 2009. I know coz I worked on NFC payment system and more
Apple provides intuitive and efficient use of existing technologies and also their marketing is very well balanced.
he had mentioned that feature in the pinned comment as android beam
Everything is there in Android but not across on all Android devices with the same reliability.
NFC and this is different. And bro no one even remembered android beam until apple dropped this. Also android didn’t continue the feature , didn’t work like this , and it’s not in android phone rn.
Android beam in front of this is primitive
What about Samsung's 2012 share feature ? Kindly checkout that 😊
Takes more steps, less reliable, more of a hassle. 😊😊😊
@@evinator1612 it was 2012, even apple made fun of Tap Tap system now they are using it in their device. Apple did nothing new except the animation, even better option aa NFC or NFC tags are available, they work same as Apple's system only 1 time tap and the set task will be completed. Works on both IOS as well as Android.
It remind me when sending music file to my friend 20 years ago
Reminds me of the bump app(or feature) from 2014. You just bump your phone with another and have the file transferred.
What if someone steals someone else's contact without their permission just by tapping on their phone?
Phone needs to be unlocked bro
@shubhamnerkar7164 what if the phone is unlocked and someone taps? I am sure they will have software updates to patch up the loophole. But it is risky.
Ya..,they kinda should set a feature where it will onlh work when you give you apple id/passcode as confirmation
You need to turn on airdrop to everyone which is only limited to 10 mins once you turn it on. So only person with permission can get the contact
@@yashrajsrgm this will make the feature useless as it will be very slow and better option is to text the contact number

Anybody here remember the Bump! App ? That Google acquired ?!
Go back in 2013 when samsung galaxy s4 have already done it☕️☕️
The 'futuristic' animation looks like a glitch imo.
Nokia had something similar
Android beam was there from ages.
kids never know "S beam"‼️ our nostalgia is ur evolution 😅
This is in Japan since like a decade ago even on feature phones
The animations are insane.
That animation was cool
Nokia tap to share with their Nokia 603 phones was killer back in the days
Android already gets itc NFC
I’m an iPhone user for past ten years but this NFC feature was available much before in android. I guess people are running after animation.
That feature looks similar to nfc where we keep both phones closer to each other
But iPhone implementation is better
This is something that I saw in the flash season 1, where Linda gives her contact information to Barey. I believe they were actually able to travel to the future and extract the ideas
The delay caused by animation is too much. Should've been snappier / faster without animation
Correction It is not because of Airdrop it is done with the help of NFC
did you hear about nearby share?
I will do this all day for absolutely no reason at all
Nfc quick share is present in android form past few years . Just an animation is good to enjoy for iphone users😂
Even currently you can do that with NFC ..ITS EASY BUT yes without animation
People claiming IR did it way back, remember IR had to be in the same place till the transmission completed and with NFC it just needs a trigger and rest of the transmission doesn’t need phones to be stuck against each other!
I remember Nokia tap & share feature
Back in the day even Nokia java phones also had this feature using infrared
Seems like infrared in old phones
Nokia had this decade back
Android had it years ago called Android Beam.
Mkbhd told us that they teased this tech during iphone 11 or 12s launch. Apple waited to perfect it and launched it with ios 17. Looks fun.
Android Beam (discontinued)
Facts. I just want that feature to be universal with phones. It would be soo cool is iOS shared this feature with android
if overkill has a definition😅
Nearby share is enough for me. Does everything I need without much hassle
Apple iPhones are always legendary, that's why have such cool futures. Don't think Android will have, because Android only have nearby sharing
The new Cheers feature
Same, even better if I can get that contact info by directing the phone at someone with Phone unlocked and this feature on.
This feature was made by an app named "line" in japan unfortunately its not avail in india ot after wtsap its has got less engagement
There were Nokia Asha phones back in 2012 with some feature like this.
I have seen it in Nokia keypad mobiles 15 years back.
The animation 😮
NFC ka naam suna hain?
This guy looks like another more famous indian guy except this guy sounds authentic lol
Tbh 90% of the time u will always at a clear distance that u will procrastinate to bring each other phone near each other like that, u will be done with the airdrop only.
Android used to have that feature, but it doesn’t share the file via direct wifi. But rather using bluetooth. Also now, the iOS implementation lets you continue to share the file over cellular connection. I don’t know if it’s gonna be peer-to-peer or over apple server
For all those who says this NFC it is similar but it was too technical for common people, what special about apple is it requires zero config and it will work out of the box!
Being first is not important but how well the execution is.
Old Nokia Lumia already had this feature
Remember "Android Beam" back in the day
