This beautiful Piano Concerto in C sharp minor, Op. 45 by Amy Beach, was dedicated by the composer to the great Venezuelan pianist and composer Teresa Carreño, whom Amy Beach greatly admired.

I heard Ms Beach's music for the first time this morning on ABC Radio FM. Thank you for this recording. She is a terrific musician. The piano's capabilities are well demonstrated, really challenging and needing more top pianists (e.g. Yunchan Lim or Yuja Wang) to introduce it more widely into the modern day repertoire. It has impressive, melodies and harmonies and her orchestration is beautiful. I hope I can find more. Thank you.

A surprise, after listening to a number of her other works. This is in a brilliant style and expression, I love it. Not that the others are un-enjoyable or bad at all...

Удивительно красивый и виртуозный концерт. Но, влияние Чайковского слышно отовсюду.

Our area classical station drags out some of her work during Women's History Month -- but most of the time she is sadly ignored.
