  • Jordan Bardella took over as leader of France's far-right National Rally party from Marine LePen, and is the party's lead candidate in next month's European elections. Speaking at a campaign event this week, the 28-year-old urged supporters to turn out in large numbers.
National Rally has been leading in the polls, ahead of the EU-wide vote - and Bardella wants the election to be seen as a mid-term referendum on the government of President Emmanuel Macron.

I’d agree, I really think the moderate liberal types have to close the borders (controlled and slower immigration) and start taking care of their citizens and get tough on criminals, or the far right will. Plain and simple. Inflation/cost of living/lowered wages will correct itself if we take these steps.
This probably goes for most of the west. Especially in europe
Liberals blaming “misinformation” is to ignore reality

Far right. Honestly the lazy media labelling doesn’t stop. You couldn’t find one thing that Jordan Bardella has said during this whole campaign that constitutes a far right statement. Clearly wanting to reduce immigration, tackle insecurity and denouncing harmful bureaucratic mechanisms within the EU are just such far right policies…

One of the worst things about media coverage of European politics: labelling all conservatives "far right", perpetual ad hominem slander: Le Pen, Merloni, CDU in Germany, OVP in Austria... Is it not possible to thoughtfully disagree without labelling your opponents with inflammatory rhetoric?

Media coverage has been is and always will be biased and use whatever words it deems necessary to garner more watches and likes. Your point isn’t without it merits but imagining a place where the media goes out of there way to NOT use incendiary language is a fools errand.

The governments therefore should have already stopped it. their failure means others will step in and do it for them.

As a French citizen who has spent the last 14 years living in the UK, I've seen firsthand the importance of strong national leadership. That's why I'm excited to vote for Jordan Bardella, the next President of France. He's a dynamic young leader with real experience as a Member of the European Parliament, known for his clear, truthful communication. Bardella's clarity of speech and commitment to speaking the truth, coupled with a clear vision for France's future, sets him apart. His focus on tackling key issues like immigration, national sovereignty, and economic growth really resonates with me. I believe he has what it takes to bring fresh energy and positive change to our country.

Young people do have fresh perspectives .. that is a fact. It is wise for the governments to listen to youth and involve them in relevant decisions making.
But the decisions that a government make is not only about on "fresh perspectives" ..
The government is not a "test bed" for experimenting new ideas in abstract (like in academia, workshop or socital organizations). If it will be like so it will definitely compromise the rights of a significant layers of its society and population (with respect to issues like pension or healthcare programs or employment and expenditures .. etc)
The future French president will be entrusted with the nuclear arsenal, economic decision, foreign diplomacy and strategic relations all of which are quite complex decisions that require at first a mentality of making decision, prioritizing and managing through constraints, communicating effectively, strategic vision and analytics within uncertainty and balancing trade offs and isolating the biases of subjective perspective from objective decisions.
When reading the profile of 28 years old French presidential candidates that he lived in shadow of drugs, poverty and immigration issue that developed his aspirations for far right policies, it is expected that France will jump into quite risky slop of uncertainties if he is elected.
Actually I think the future of liberal democracies will be heavily driven on simulation decision making and programs. by which the two candidates form their team before being elected and face long hypothetical but realistically assessed scenario they deal with over months show the public their programs and the decisions they will make and it projected consequences.. so who elect them elect them based on that.
Sometime leaders sound like they are the least tested product of liberal democracies.
