- Jordan Bardella took over as leader of France's far-right National Rally party from Marine LePen, and is the party's lead candidate in next month's European elections. Speaking at a campaign event this week, the 28-year-old urged supporters to turn out in large numbers.
National Rally has been leading in the polls, ahead of the EU-wide vote - and Bardella wants the election to be seen as a mid-term referendum on the government of President Emmanuel Macron.

The media love a far right slur lol
To the news, anything not communist is Far Right.
For the far right, anything democratic, center-left or center-right is communist!
I don't think the reason why young people wants to vote for this guy is they don't know the history, the reason is many young people is tired of immigrants, tired of subsidies for criminals, tired of the increase of violence and wokeness in french government.
🙄
Same happening around Europe, look at Sweden and Netherlands 😂😂😂
Its time global south shows the west their place. Russia has already started kicking out west from aftrica. BRI from China will only get that accelerate
I’d agree, I really think the moderate liberal types have to close the borders (controlled and slower immigration) and start taking care of their citizens and get tough on criminals, or the far right will. Plain and simple. Inflation/cost of living/lowered wages will correct itself if we take these steps.
This probably goes for most of the west. Especially in europe
Liberals blaming “misinformation” is to ignore reality
Sounds like typical fearmongering and moral panic to me. No different from anti-immigration sentiment that has dominated the history of numerous societies in the past.
Far right. Honestly the lazy media labelling doesn’t stop. You couldn’t find one thing that Jordan Bardella has said during this whole campaign that constitutes a far right statement. Clearly wanting to reduce immigration, tackle insecurity and denouncing harmful bureaucratic mechanisms within the EU are just such far right policies…
DW is a puppet of the german gov.
Sure, if he said what le pen dictated, he woukd end up at the same place. They evolved. Sweet talking now.
i am french living in Australia since 2005 and i will vote for Bardella
I’m French living in Gran Canaria and I’m voting for Jordan Bardella.
One of the worst things about media coverage of European politics: labelling all conservatives "far right", perpetual ad hominem slander: Le Pen, Merloni, CDU in Germany, OVP in Austria... Is it not possible to thoughtfully disagree without labelling your opponents with inflammatory rhetoric?
Media coverage has been is and always will be biased and use whatever words it deems necessary to garner more watches and likes. Your point isn’t without it merits but imagining a place where the media goes out of there way to NOT use incendiary language is a fools errand.
How would you describe an isolationist, nationalist party with pro-Authoritarian leanings in geopoliticals and an economic policy that is somewhere between economic nationalist and protectionist?
If your political platform is far-right, maybe instead of crying about being labelled far-right, you should ask yourself why you're so offended by an accurate description of your beliefs.
@@2639theboss Please enlighten me. Authoritarian how exactly? As opposed to the pro surveillance, anti free speech European left?
I think you mean Meloni, not Merloni
CDU in Germany is not comparable to Le Pen, AfD is.
I'm French, I have lived in America for 17 years and I will vote for BARDELLA.
I wish in the US there was someone at least under 40 wanting to make a change lol
@@96cespinoza Yes, I wish there was someone like him in the UK too.

@@bushmonster1702 that reminds me of a quote from Andor… 😂
Me , a coloured indian descent wants these connservatives (so called far rights by the liberal communists woke media) to preside all over Europe, including France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Hungary, Chekoslovakia, Britain, Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, Danemark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Romania, Belgium etc..
The morals, cultural values brought back.
I will visit these countries to back their conservative policies.
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 well said.
Imagine complaining about conservatives being mislabeled as far right and than call the mostly neo liberal media communist.
I 100% agree with you.
Immigration. Period.
I love this presenter he always looks so puzzled by whatever he's readin in the teleprompter
very interesting to see how scared people become of democracy as soon as it doesn't agree with them. democracy is rule by the people for the people. The people do not want immigration. The governments therefore should have already stopped it. their failure means others will step in and do it for them.
As a French citizen who has spent the last 14 years living in the UK, I've seen firsthand the importance of strong national leadership. That's why I'm excited to vote for Jordan Bardella, the next President of France. He's a dynamic young leader with real experience as a Member of the European Parliament, known for his clear, truthful communication. Bardella's clarity of speech and commitment to speaking the truth, coupled with a clear vision for France's future, sets him apart. His focus on tackling key issues like immigration, national sovereignty, and economic growth really resonates with me. I believe he has what it takes to bring fresh energy and positive change to our country.
Did this guy just say he has an antisemitic background? He should sue him for defamation
He should have little trouble getting the top job, as the French have had enough of this so-called multiculturalism, inclusion, and globalism rubbish. Observing their heritage and culture being fast eroded by Islam is reason enough.
Amen
2 nd Amen
Then you don't know France it's colonial past. Multiculturalism and globalism are their bread and butter. equality is even in their national motto.
buddy, if random countries in sub saharan africa are rushing to erode their own french culture, I doubt people in france have little problem with that.

WTF does a lady in Stanford know about what a country of 60 million is thinking? WHat a joke the media is sad that I gave this a click.
I'd be very surprised if Jordan won, far too early into his career in politics. The age as well might put people off, maybe in the long future.
Pure chancer. If you cannot spot that, you deserve him
Someone help this presenter, I think he is very, very constipated!
As a far left news organization do you feel qualified to determine who and who isn’t ’far right’?
Woke is a much better term than far left
how are they far left and why is it that you brand them this and yet complain about them using “far right”? Why is it fine for you to call them far left but not fine for them to use the term “far right”?
As much qualification as a right-wing commenter can define what is "woke", I guess?
You don't know what far-left is lol
We everybody at one of your rallies is the same shade of pink...
They wanted to close Europe but they travelled here in Asia in millions. 😂
Young people do have fresh perspectives .. that is a fact. It is wise for the governments to listen to youth and involve them in relevant decisions making.
But the decisions that a government make is not only about on "fresh perspectives" ..
The government is not a "test bed" for experimenting new ideas in abstract (like in academia, workshop or socital organizations). If it will be like so it will definitely compromise the rights of a significant layers of its society and population (with respect to issues like pension or healthcare programs or employment and expenditures .. etc)
The future French president will be entrusted with the nuclear arsenal, economic decision, foreign diplomacy and strategic relations all of which are quite complex decisions that require at first a mentality of making decision, prioritizing and managing through constraints, communicating effectively, strategic vision and analytics within uncertainty and balancing trade offs and isolating the biases of subjective perspective from objective decisions.
When reading the profile of 28 years old French presidential candidates that he lived in shadow of drugs, poverty and immigration issue that developed his aspirations for far right policies, it is expected that France will jump into quite risky slop of uncertainties if he is elected.
Actually I think the future of liberal democracies will be heavily driven on simulation decision making and programs. by which the two candidates form their team before being elected and face long hypothetical but realistically assessed scenario they deal with over months show the public their programs and the decisions they will make and it projected consequences.. so who elect them elect them based on that.
Sometime leaders sound like they are the least tested product of liberal democracies.
make la Nation Grande again?
Far right? 🤦♂️ lol
The statistics show the rich of the suburbs where they live in villas vote for National Rally not the working class! The majority of the working class does not vote at all!
It's just untrue.
"Despite the Nupes competition, the RN maintained a strong popular base by winning the workers' vote by a wide margin (45%). RN candidates also came out on top in the 50-59 age group (30%), among those without a baccalaureate (28%) and voters who say they come from a "disadvantaged" social background (31%)."
IPSOS 2022
Lmao what a liar..I don’t know what statistics your talking about but official statistics clearly show that the middle class and the working class, in their majority, vote for Rassemblement National (and not Front National)
Im from La Réunion, an overseas territories of France, we did vote for Lepen and not for the left (Nupes/lfi) and Im not sure we are very rich here :)
Same for the others overseas territories.. all did vote for Lepen (except one territory), again, Im not sure they are rich and live in villas there.
The rich vote Macron. Come on.
DW why didn’t you ask about the obvious Russian support? Not all far right support Russia but this group does, this is the actual problem
@lod...- Does he support Russia, who wants the war to end and the warring parties to make peace? What kind of people are those who profit from the war and want to prove their power against Russia, that they spend their citizens' money on weapons, which they give to Ukraine to kill as many people as possible, instead of advocating for peace talks? Would you willingly go to fight for Ukraine?
THe Le Pen family should rule France not Bardella
Far right 😂😂😂
He’s a mouthpiece. La pen is the true power behind him. Get a young handsome guy. Make him seem like one of the people. Send him into the media spotlight. La Pen is great at spin and people fall for it the whole time.
