Some rich college kid threw a purple 3 queen next to dumpster after his first semester …it was brand new looking …greatest bed i have ever had
Same bro some guy wanted 100 bucks for a twin purple that he only used it for a semester 😂 best mattress in the world
My Purple failed after 2-3 years of use. It left me with lower back pain. It is good if it is free but not worth the $3,400 that I spent. Now I am searching for a replacement.
@@mocheen4837 my mom had a purple plus which is supposed to be softer that thing made her back hurt for sure but she exchanged it for a regular purple let me tell ya she was very satisfied with the mattress thats for sure
He must’ve been really strong.
holy cow dude thats like a 2000$ mattress good for you.
I wish there was a store that I could go to and test all of these in store
We had a bad experience with Nectar and have found others with the same issue. The "Lifetime Guarantee" is totally at their whim. You take photos and they said "no material defect" and denied any compensation. With memory foam, it's really hard to capture the sag when you aren't in the bed, but we had, visually, a measured 2" sag they ignored. Then they said there was a stain on the mattress (from a soda spill on the side) and they said the spill voided the warranty. That is NOT stated in the warranty info we received when we bought the mattress. My complaint extends beyond the Nectar mattress, it is the company. They have been involved (and lost) a class action suit where they dishonestly listed their regular prices as discounted prices. There are other issues you can find online, but what is really tricky is when a company has friendly, helpful, attentive service until you hit a meaningful snag and then you are out of luck. Happy bed hunting to all of you. My quality of sleep really suffered after about 4 years with Nectar and my frustration level at their friendly, "I'm sorry"s is through the roof.
Just for the record on your warranty issues. I had a job doing warranty repair/inspection for a certain set of very large stores. For the mattresses I would have to inspect (dogshit job to be clear, tried to be as giving as I could) we were to run a straight line across the sag and measure with a ruler. There’s a certain metric depending on the brand as to where it is a warranty issue. It was also universal that any stains or dirtiness would void the warranty.
Maybe Nectar doesn’t include that somewhere in the warranty, but it is standard if that’s any comfort
I know everyone reviews beds on how they sleep. But how are they for fking? I'm serious do you sink to much? Can you maintain a correct angle for missionary? Do you feel like your moving in the mud when you switch to doggie etc.
These are legit questions no one talks about lol 😂
Lol, we've had the purple for about 5 years now, and I definitely don't have any complaints. We've never had any trouble. 😜
if the foam mattress is too soft, you and your partner will sink deep into the bed and there will basically be no rebound when you're trying to get a rhythm while being rougher. A hybrid foam/spring mattress is the best of both worlds
Had the memory foam, sunk too much for doggy. Purple is the best soft top bed I've had for sexy time, and it's quieter than a normal spring mattress especially if u don't have a head board. Mine is the purple 1 idk about the newer models
@WATTSTHESAFEWORD on CZcams does! BUT FOR REAL I NEED MORE PPL TALKING ABOUT WHAT FUCKING IS LIKE ON THESE, THATS A HUGE FACTOR FOR ME!!! 😭😭😭 I feel like this isn't unreasonable to ask!!
My pick is the Puffy Lux or Royal Hybrid with the airy feel and washable cover. Thank you for the great video!
I've been sleeping on a sleep number for several years, support is fantastic but... The surface is not soft enough. So today I started looking at options and am considering the Puffy hybrid ...
5 years on my orginal purple mattress. I weigh 210 and am a very hot sleeper, thats why I bought it. I'm still happy with it. My wife is cold sleeper and with good blanket, she loves it too.
Definitely going with Casper but in the hybrid option. This one is offering that zone support I would need!
i dont know aboutb that man ive seen too many negative reviews on casper
I love my Casper. I wouldn't sleep on anything else!
I think it is great that ya'll do all these reviews so we cn make good choices!!
Troll
The video quality is top notch! Should have affiliate links for the camera set up
I've had a Purple original for 5 years. I had lower back problems and used to crawl out of bed on my stomach. After my first night on my Purple I started springing out of the bed flat on my feet! It isn't perfect. I would get the hybrid next time for more firmness. Free shipping? It's built into the price.
4:28 he really did just bust that purple mattress there, didn’t he 😂
Yup
I really enjoy the Casper like the spinal alignment is real.
Which are suitable for wall beds? Will the hybrids (with coils) work or will the coils settle when stored in vertical posistion?
The Layla bed works best for me. 4 years now and no sagging
Layla is way better than the base model casper. Have both. Casper makes it hard to roll around to seith positions layla has so much support and has double sided
Very helpful!
Purple is $3,000. For foam lol. It’s foam!!
Which one are you looking at?
I have memory foam before but time just degrade it at around 10 years period. Original I bought memory form at 1500$.
And then I try purple. It is different. I roll around every ways during the night. I also have scoliosis and constant back pain. I pretty much love purple as it relieve my back pain.
Enjoy a good night sleep will rejuvenate your day activities. I would suggest buying at 1000-2000$. 7-10 hours of sleep to revitalize the any individual. My wife love the purple as she is a side sleeper while I'm mostly a backsleeper.
My Purple fell apart and sagged after 3 years of use. They refuse to warranty the mattress and now I am searching for a new one. It was a waste of over $3,400. I cannot recommend Purple. Now I am looking at Nectar or Casper.
@@mocheen4837did you buy directly from Purple?
Does that make it not worth the price some how? You are paying for the specially patented layer and support characteristics not specifically materials
I like extra firm mattresses. My husband is a big boy 300 lbs. He suffers from chronic sciatica
Firm mattresses are terrible for sciatica
Whats best for people that wake-up with middle back pain and lower back pain. Im about 160 lbs so i assume i dont need a spring matress. And i sleep on my back stomach and side, so i was thinking maybe the Nector original might be best for me but not sure? Any help would be greatly appreciated. 🙏
I'm curious about the Dream Cloud too. Any opinions on that, if you know, would be great.
I purchased a king-size Dreamcloud mattress and base right about a year ago. I can say for my husband and self, it was amazing for the first half of the year, now it has indentions and is not as comfortable. The plus to this business is that they did offer us a 365-day warranty. I am in the process of donating and receiving a refund on the mattress. I really don't know what I will be purchasing now. 🤔
I prefer the Purple 3 or 4.
I work for Mattress Firm and most shoppers find both to be comfy.
I went to the purple store and tried the 3 and 4 and I liked the 3 more but I did not like purple enough to buy one. I LOVE and have their seat cushion though
After 2 years with the Purple Hybrid, my wife and I regret buying it. It was amazing the first year and now we both wake up with terrible back pain.
I had a Purple for a while. Didn't work for me. A waste of money in my case. Probably good for big people.
@@rorystorm4284 I recently ordered a Dreamcloud and they keep pushing my expected ship date. It’s been 3 weeks now.
I love my nectar! It’s been almost 3 years now. I have osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia and it has been incredible helping my body just relax. I spend a lot of time in it or sitting on it. Very happy with it!
Great comprehensive video.
Regardless of the manufacturer, what is the anticipated life of a memory foam mattress? Brief references to the material compacting over time; is that the Achilles heel of an industry reliant on fad shopping. Are consumers being duped by an ever increasing disposable society.
My current Serta pillow top is roughly 15 years old. I have read the average life of a mattress is 10-12 years. Unlike a memory foam, I periodically rotate and flip it.
Again, an inherent drawback with the memory foam concept.
Your feedback would be invaluable!
Hey Slumber Yard, what is the padded bed frame + headboard you've got there? I wants it.
I've owned a nectar for 4 years and love it! I also own a cocoon chill firm bed that is also excellent. Both high quality and very comfortable!
Nectars are full of toxic chemicals and fiberglass. Cheaply made too
Hoping mine will be good for me. It's been tough searching for a bed. I went to a mattress store and tested out a coiled mattress. It felt fine in the store but hurt my hips and legs so bad once home. I'm exchanging it for a Nectar. I had never had hip pain like that from a mattress.Hopeful it will work for me as a single sleeper.
@@patricedixon2634update?
I finally went and laid on a purple mattress and loved it!! My favorite one in the whole store. Even over the tempurpedic
What store has them? I thought it was online only. I would like to try before buying.
Mattress Firm & Ashley sell them in their stores.
Only buy directly from Purple if you need to buy one. The warranty from Purple is only valid when purchased directly from them. If you buy from a store the warranty must go through the vendor. This is not posted on their website but Mattress Firm denied my warranty even though Purple was willing to replace my sagging mattress. I am in the process of taking them to small claims court. Very misleading policies. Save yourself some headache and buy direct. Call them if you do not believe me. You will thank me later.
@@mocheen4837Thanks!
Does anyone have a link for that bed frame?!?
I was maintenance in a mattress factory and I ended up getting a Cal king mattress from Casper for $50 bucks and it’s my favorite investment ever! But I will say the druggies don’t sleep so you can😉 the worst people make the best beds tbh but we used to make all of these mattresses and it’s crazy how all this works and what kinds are in each bed. Amazon even makes them for the homeless!!
what size bed are y'all testing
I’ve been looking at the Puffy Luxe Hybrid, but not sure. I have had back issues in the past, sleep mostly on my back, and tend to like a firmer bed, but my husband is a side sleeper and suffers with hip and shoulder pressure point pain. Has been impossible for both of us to be happy with a mattress in the past. If he loves it, I hate it, and vice versa. We’ve never had a memory foam bed, but have slept on one that we really sank down into. We didn’t like that and the difficulty of turning in the bed. I’m looking for a mattress with firm support, but soft enough on top to cushion the pressure points. I appreciate your reviews, but still not quite sure which would be best to try. It’s a dilemma, so thank goodness for the trial periods most of the companies give!
One of the top 10 mattresses offers two side by side mattresses that are different.
Hmmm. The one I just bought isn’t even on the list, and has been around for very long time, longer than any of those. Am tossing an old Sealy and just bought a BedStory hybrid.
Also Dormeo mattress offers 15 years warranty limited
I just got a casper bed at Costco, no hip aches. I'm planning on sleeping in since my back won't wake me up 🥳🥳🥳
How has the mattress worked long term for you?
@@johnlocke3481 I really like it and I wake up with barely any discomfort
My first memory foam was some off-brand 10 inch in a box. I purchased it from Fred Meyer for $350 plus another $100 for a foundation in queen size. I think it was straight memory foam. None of these brands popular today were around with the exception of Tempurpedic. It was fine but it made me hot so I passed it to my daughter after about 6yrs and bought a Puffy after I heard them being plugged on the Ellen show and I've been using it for 4 years now. I don't have any issues with it. I believe it was $1400, literally 4 times the cost of my first memory foam. I don't know if I would say my Puffy is better, but it's certainly not 4 times better. The point I'm making is that none of these mattresses should cost over $1k. Not for foam.
This was super helpful. I think I’m stuck between the purple and the Casper bed 😭
Did you solve your dilemma? 🙂
Which one did you choose?
I went with the purple medium firmness for my guest room. I’ve never gotten deeper sleep with anything else. And that’s that I have a $8k sleep number in my master. Regretting not going purple in my bedroom.
Best sleep of my life - Puffy DIAMOND Mattress! A layer of alpaca wool. A layer of premium latex. 10 total layers including the hybrid coil structure, latex, and WOOL. The Puffy Diamond Mattress is VERY expensive for a 'mattress-in-a-box'. However, I have gotten incredibly good rest while sleeping in my new bed. Also, purchased the bed frame with the padded headboard and sides that prevent my Frenchie from getting underneath the bed (Angel and a PIA). The Puffy Diamond Mattress and the bedframe are a 10/10 and I would buy them again. And I couldn't forget to mention the bamboo bedsheets that are SILKY smooth and give the sleeping experience a luxurious feel. The pillows are to die for. I prefer the thinner pillow for sleeping and the thicker pillow for sitting up in bed. I genuinely love my bed now. You won't even need the complimentary mattress pad, the bed is amazing without it.
Previously, I purchased the Tempur-Cloud from Tempur-Pedic with a bedframe that has an adjustable base. The bed frame worked without many issues, but the legs are FLIMSY. Also, we lost power one time and my bed got stuck in the 'zero gravity' position and I had to spend the night folded like an accordion. The mattress itself was O.K. and I slept well but would wake up with lower back pain. I kept everything anyway because it was too much hassle to return and I liked the financing deal for 3 years with no interest.
Takeaway. WIth any 'mattress-in-a-box' you get what you paid for. I paid roughly $1500 for the Tempur-Pedic mattress(Queen size) to wake up with lower back pain for three years. The Puffy DIAMOND mattress(Cal-King size) cost around $3800 and I have LOVED it every night since the first night. If you can afford or justify paying the price I highly recommend bucking up for a good night's rest.
Go into the night and sleep well, dear reader.
I got a Leesa last year and within a month most of my back pain was gone, and it is holding up really well, And i was over 400lbs when I got it, so if you are heavier it is a good buy.
Did u buy the leesa legend?
I have used the Leesa original mattresses for around 15 years. I am now on my third mattress. It lasts longer than inner spring mattresses for me, and fails slowly as compared to the possible sudden breaking of springs.
My Leesa is still going strong , last month i bought my daughter a nectar, mostly because it came with a free adjustable frame and she loves the nectar and i love my leesa on an adjustable frame even more.@@aaronbredon2948
I loved my Leesa. But I’m looking to upgrade I think I might just buy the same Leesa matters or one of the other kind they offer.
I been struggling with very bad back pain and I know it’s because of my cheap mattress that my husband and I got years ago from ikea worst idea ever but we could afford anything else. I was looking at the purple hybrid 3 but that mattress is over 4k+ 🤦🏼♀️ there is no way I can afford that I also seen the nectar mattress which is way more cheaper but also have heard all kinds of mixed reviews. I am a side sleeper and I toss quit a lot over night. So not sure which one to pick just don’t wanna regret it later.
Layla bed saved me from shoulder neck pain! I hope you find relief
I bought a Purple 3 that sagged after 3 years. Spending more money does not mean you will avoid back pain. Now they will not warranty the mattress and I am left with a $3,400 piece of garbage.
Did you ever decide on a mattress and how is it?
I like your slumber yard jam
These mattresses are low-end. Temper Pedic Pro Breeze or Luxe Breeze hybrid
are top end..!
I have a nectar and I love it, it’s super comfortable. The only issue I have is that it doesn’t circulate body heat, so on nights when I’m hot, I’m hot. I haven’t figured out a solution for this yet.
Bro this is unbelievably relatable. I’ve had my queen size nectar mattress for about a year and there is indeed zero circulation 😂
@@decisivedolphinn we need to find a solution!
Crank up your AC and keep the bedroom door open, so the air in your bedroom doesn't get stuffy. You can also use a fan to circulate air. Sleep with no clothes on and use a lighter blanket when it's hot. I have two blankets. Thin for warm months and thicker one for cold months.
Purple is the way to go for hot sleepers
My one fear of a memory foam bed but I need it for pressure relief. I'm on a plush new bed that is hard/ keeps me hurting. I'm exchanging it for a Nectar. I'm a senior citizen and don't sleep hot so maybe that's a saving grace. I use a fan for white noise. Hoping for the best as these coils are killing my bones!
About that return policy-ive had my purple for almost 10 years if not, but no way anyone will be able to return them. Once u unroll and it becomes a mattress, forget about it. These things are HEAVY! I liked my purple the first few years but now its shagging and im 190 lbs. so here I am trying to figure out whats my next one.
You can get a couple more years out of it by - flip it over, bottom side up. And put a quality 3”-4” latex topper on it.
I need a mattress that stays as cool as possible, any suggestions?
I have had a Helix Midnight for 7 years now and it sleeps cool for me while nothing seems to sleep cool enough for my husband. Great mattress but the top layer is starting to soften a bit. Don't know if that time frame is normal to show wear on a hybrid mattress. Nobody seems to talk about normal wear time frame. For side sleepers I definitely recommend this mattress. most of my backpain is gone.
I have an older sleep number bed. That thing has got to go! Here I am…
Almost bought a tempuepedic at the Fair until I saw the price. I could almost buy a car. I've been looking at your videos for a few days now, but I'm still not clear which mattress is best for me, and which adjustable frame. I'm a 74 yo, 160 lb, side sleeper with lower back pain. Any suggestions.
Buy the car
Tempur is by far the best, as someone who used to sell mattresses, companies can't compete with them
@@jordanb8578 thanks for the reply.
I had my Helix Midnight for 7 years and it really alleviated my back pain which was pretty bad. Helix has great customer service and will donate the mattress if you have any problems with it. I highly recommend Helix Midnight for side sleepers with back pain. They also have various levels of comfort available.
Bed in a box, is something kind of cool. It sounds like something crazy. How do you get a bed in a box.
@theslumberyard - What headboard do you have I love it!
Shouldn't Layla be in this group?
Why wasn’t Brooklyn bedding involved in this comparison?
or Helix and Dream Cloud! both are great mattresses and at a good price.
For the last 10 years I’ve used a memory foam Walmart bed. At this point I wouldn’t spend more then $200 for a bed
Agreed and here we are watching reviews on these luxury beds lol
Beds are soooo damn expensive
You’re just broke
That puffy reference did not age well
Your mic is hella good lmao
How do you compress it to send it back?
You don't. Companies with give directions what to do . Most will send a co that will come and pick it up. Some with trash it while other companies will donate the returned mattress.
I just found a like new king nectar for $125 on my local classifieds. I think that beats the 15 year old POS I've been sleeping on...I'm 6'5 240lbs, we'll see how she holds up!
My son has nerve back pain what's the best?
Not a purple mattress. Mine sagged after 2 years and caused back pain by year 3. I am only 185 lbs and wish that I had never bought one now.
@@mocheen4837 you don’t have to reply to Everyone’s comment with the same thing. My medium firm mattress did the same thing and I’m 135 lbs. if you want a mattress to last you got to buy a firm one. This problem is not specific to purple everyone I know that’s had a medium of medium to soft Mattress says it “sags out” after a few years. The story is different however for firm mattresses. My parents have a condo that’s alwAys being rented out. We’ve had the same firm mattress for ten years up there and it hasn’t sagged out, it wasn’t as comfortable at first but it’s a great bed after a little bit.
What have you found about Nectar lawsuit and their use of Fiberglass on their mattresses?
It's actually a pretty unknown fact but most mattresses have fiberglass in them. From my understanding, it's to make the mattress flame retardant.
@@weewoo3889 best flame retardant bed you can own is a water bed and no fiber glass to worry about.
Question: Are these mattresses safe re toxins, etc?
Good question. He does have a video on organic mattresses.
Nectar is made of fiberglass which you DO NOT want in your home. If the mattress is to tear, the fiberglass will go everywhere and is hard to remove.
Im going purple
Buy direct from purple if you want the full warranty. Mattress Firm denied my mattress warranty when my purple sagged by year 2. I am out $3,400 now and have back pain.
