Quick fact, the buddha in the middle is a doorway that was built and blocks the entry that leads to the center of the of the tower. About 90ft down, is the tomb and ashes of the king with all of his treasures. This was looted awhile back by the Siam/Thai invasion in the 12th century and is just an empty hole now. It used to be a doorway with Hindu statues, but it was knocked down and the buddha statue replaced it. If you notice the statues with missing heads and arms, is because when they invaded, as a sign of disrespect, they cut off pieces and brought it back to Thailand, along with roughly 10-15% of the Khmer population who they forced to turn into Thai nationals. Some people stayed in Siem Reap but Northeast Thailand (Former Northern Cambodia) was conquered and colonized and forced to accept Thai nationality. The rest moved to Phnom Penh to escape and rebuild. This is why both the cultures are so intertwined.

We noticed some parts missing on some of the temple guardians & we were wondering why that is.

It's difficult to put 'something' into a 15 min video. Editing is hard. Telling a story is hard. I'm impressed with how far you've come. Keep it up. Some of your b-roll was really perfectly framed. You guys had some of the best Angkor Wat shots that shows the scale of the place. So nice.....

It was absolutely amazing. Well worth visiting, we were honestly hesitant to go because it’s a “tourist attraction” but so glad we did!
Looks like you guys are having an awesome time over in the Phillipines! 🙌🏽🙌🏽
I’m excited to watch your Sinulog videos!

When I first came to Angkor Wat, I feel like it was unreal like I'm in the movie or something. Like you describe how big it actually is to see the ground, the gate, the lake around they're bigg and amazing. and ohh yeah the forest, big trees greens it gives different vibes, and a little bit cold it's just wow!! maybe only me had this feeling or maybe this is a spoil.

I had a chance to visit this historical place as a boy with my family way back in late 60s. The town was very quiet and peaceful with a few tourists and hotels so we had to stay at the Budhist temple around the area. Only memory lives on. There were mostly dirt roads around town and most of the temple complexes remained wild and natural with many forest in the surroundings . Happy travels and take care!

There's also 2000 ancient Khmer ruins/temples that are from the Khmer empire that are still in modern Thailand and those "Lego pieces" that you're talking about it's not that it hasn't been put together. Thailand tried to remove blocks from Angkor Wat to take it to Bangkok. That's reason why they tried to build replicas because they wanted to Say Cambodian culture is theirs, that's why you see Thai ppl dressed up like the sculptures and carvings that are on Cambodian Temples.

Those tattoos that you have it's Cambodian! The Khmer empire used to rule the entire southeast Asia and Thailand wasn't even a country until the 14th century Thailand stole all of Cambodian culture before they slaughtered millions of Cambodians in the 14th century. Not only Thai people looted and destroyed Cambodian ancient artifacts. The culture that people think it's Thailand. It's all from Cambodia.
