Finally, Oregon has a few Niros for sale. Because of you and other Niro advocates, I bought one. Im so happy. Thank you so much for all the videos and feedback about the Niro. Kia did not sell me on this car, people like you did. Peace Bjorn. Stuart
I Have the Kia Niro PHEV and I consistently get better than the 26 miles EV range and have been getting 135 MPG in the last 5 months and 9000 miles I have driven with it. I love my Niro and am totally impressed with all the features it came with that many other PHEV charge way to much to add-on but mine came standard with them all. Could not recommend my car enough to other people. I am pretty sure when I trade this in I will go to the Kia Niro EV.
Thanks Bjorn quite enjoyed that one ,good to get a perspective on another country .Great to see your wife enjoying the trip as well . Over all the kia niro seems to be a well appointed car .Also good work hitting 100 000 subs .Always look forward to your content , please keep up the great work .
As always, love your video reviews Bjorn, so natural human presentation. They are long and so detailed, hardly get bored. Great job!! Waiting for Kia Niro EV to arrive in Canada. Looks like Kia hit the sweet spot with this perfect size CUV for a family of 4, not too small (like Kona, may be okay for couples). Cancelled apt. to test drive (regular) Kona before booking for the Kona EV (after seeing your Kona video reviews, had made the apt.) And with 400-500km range in a single charge, it can be the primary family car, even for long distance traveling. And saw your interior review (sleep test :) - that was cool/practical. Looking forward for your next reviews of Niro (charge speed ...).
I'm also in Canada with a family of 4 looking forward to the Niro to replace our Leaf. What a well thought out car from the looks of it! I sat in the hybrid version and found it much more comfortable with adjustable seats for my tall frame.
Also from Canada, Ottawa vicinity (Gatineau, Québec). Currently driving a 2015 Sorento and am waiting for the arrival of the Niro EV at my Kia dealer at the turn of 2019. Will definitely book a test drive and hopefully my expectations will be met and I can negotiate a trade-in. I am more than satisfied with the Niro's specs and stats :)
Trying to get an estimate from Kia Sweden on the delivery time as my current lease is up and i liked the PHEV. But this sold me on the BEV model... Great review! Thanks and keep it up! 👍

14:40 In Germany it is called "Raststätte" on each autobahn.... There are tesla superchargers as well as common electric chargers, with restaurats and so on... And it's morr and more common to build up these solar-trees as sun-protection, but it is't as needed as in mediteran countries like spain or italy.
100k Congrats man! I remember you at 30k and look at you now, its amazing! I also want to thank you for providing this channel to the people and educating people on making the switch to electric. Good luck and hope you reach your next milestone real quick!
A very strong contender as a game changer. The key is economies of scale. In the next two years, with better battery and battery production technology cars like this will become commonplace.
Littering is definitely about education and cultural attitude. We have fines for littering in the UK but they're widely ignored, so many of our roads and even countryside/nature areas are always covered in litter. Really sad but people just don't seem to care.

Littering 1st shows a lack of respect to others & 2ndly shows a self-centered attitude! Also a lack of kindness & empathy... It's a Big Red Flag when dating another - lack of class / refinement & intelligence.
Good video. This is looking like the EV to get in europe on the "affordable" price range. Good looking, good quality, good equipment, good range and the usual kia warranty. Thanks.
Excellent real life type driving over distance . It will be good to see the 120kmh test for comparison and also what charging speeds are available on fast charging after running down the battery so far. The Ionic, Kona and the Niro seem to be filling the market space that GM tried to own but it's marketing blunders in Europe seem to have lost it it's lead. The Ampera seems to be almost non existent (in the UK) and the Bolt is nowhere to be seen. In this segment of the market the smart choice is therefore between the Kona and the Nero . Nissan better sit up and take notice also.
Thanks for the info which is very interesting and pretty much what I was hoping for and this makes it extremely usable as a day to day and holidays car for me - anything over 200 miles is as much as I can tolerate these days in one stint without a comfort break and stop for refreshments so as long as fast charging is not impeded by extreme rapidgate the spec is a good replacement for an ICE as far as I'm concerned.
congratulations on the 100k 11:19 that is averaging speed limit there is one section in that road (Seoul - Yangyang expressway) where the speed is averaged over around 12 km (mostly inside Korea's longest motorway tunnel -> with a length of 11 km) all navigators in Korea do that i.e. indicate average speed, remaining distance, etc. cameras get your plate number upon entrance and exit of the section and if you exceed the speed limit, you get a ticket in the mail. other speed limit enforcers are overhead and roadside instantaneous speed cameras... you can actually go over the speed limit -> as long as there is no camera the navigator tells you that you are overspeeding only when there is a camera nearby

Congratulations 101,407 subs, exponential growth will now occur for you as more EV's are coming to the marketplace!!! TY for the video! Tesla needs to move the Model Y release forward to ASAP! I know they can't for many reasons, but I can dream about it... 👍 Thank You Bjorn!
You had your wife with you too, that is more load on the heavier than Kona car. That would make it on par with each other . I don't know how much of a factor the weather will be too. Loved your long distance range test as always . Kona vs Nero RACE next ;)
Like with the Hyundai Kona, this Kia Nero EV seems to check all the boxes. Excellent all round and very desirable. Like with the Kona, my only anxiety is about Kia being able to keep up with demand. I sure hope that both these companies get super-organized with huge battery production. With so many other auto makers stalling in this area the South Koreans have a great opportunity right now. By the time the competition get properly going on EVs (maybe 2020...) Kia and Hyundai can have moved a lot of electric cars. They have 2 great cars for mass consumption. Go go go!
It's the charger limited, it's because the last 5-6% is painfully slow and so they limit it so that hopefully drivers free up the space. It's the same in our country.
Wauv, I did not see that comming. Since it´s bigger and have more weight, I have guessed 450 like you. This is really great news. And gz on the silver button :D
I’ve seen a similar solar setup in France in a supermarket car park, no chargers though, I believe they use the solar power to keep the refrigerators in the supermarket running and have substantially reduce their electric bill.
@12:14 It's because that feature is specifically built for only that tunnel. I bet that navigation did not show Average Speed until you got into that tunnel. That tunnel has CCTV with License plate capture before entering the tunnel and after exiting tunnel. It calculates the average speed based on time stamp from point of enter to point of exit. And if the average speed is over the limit, they send speeding ticket. Because of that, Korean navigation companies built such function for "point to point speed checking section" to inform/warn drivers what their estimated average speed is.
when testing, if you are departing from Seoul, during weekends, the expressways are going to be jampacked (out of Seoul -> Saturdays, in to Seoul -> Sundays) the Seoul capital region has 25 million people...
Wow > 100 k followers, gratulation 👍👍👍👍👍 I tested today a Niro fossil or hybrid. The room space is really good, much better as in Kona, i totally agree with you.
The average speed thing is for a speed camera. It means if you faster than 100 at a certain road, you'll get speeding ticket. 88 means your average speed between first camera to your current location.
