    I engaged in a major video project on the weekend and have just used Boris Primatte with Vegas Pro 21. So far the results are very impressive. I have to edit 79 video clips and 665 still photos and incorporate/edit them into my project, albeit only in HD. I am only new to Primatte so I'm still experimenting but it is a very effective keyer from what I've seen. The facilities we shot in were far from professional with 2 different shades of greenscreen but this seems to work without a hiccup. So far I have trimmed the 79 video assets and culled quite a few but am obviously looking for shortcuts to accelerate my workflow.. Without going into specifics I have a beast of a computer that will handle any editing thrown at it without ever having to do proxies so that is not a factor. Back to the grind ....

    I had a really bad green screen footage with bad lighting, wrinkled background, and these steps really helped me get an acceptable result

      @@BorisFXco honestly, a lot of times, all the options and controls in Boris FX can be overwhelming for people just starting out. This makes using Primatte Studio for green screen work much easier to get started.

    I must to have Sync Cursor on, otherwise BCC only sees the first frame at the beginning of the timeline and causes sampling problems if you're not on the first frame. It took me a while to figure it out.
    I don't know if this is a bug or if it is mentioned in the manual.

    Really nice tut... Just one thing,, I notice that at the end of the TUT the green stripe on your T shirt is not green. Anyway of fixing that?

    • @BorisFXco
      @BorisFXco  Před 2 lety

      Yes, that's easy to fix. In the Inside Mask setting, you can have the mask apply to Opacity only or Opacity & Spill. If it's set to Opacity & Spill, it stops the spill remover from eating the green in areas you want to keep, eg the T shirt.

    I have a question. I do the elementary keying steps in this video and it works great. However, I am sitting in a brown office chair in front of my green screen and I would like to take the chair out of the clip as well. How do I accomplish that?
    I tried using background cleaning, but it picks me up as well when I try to select the chair while sampling. How can I take the chair out and leave myself in? There isn't a whole lot of motion going on, I'm just sitting there talking. Thanks in advance!

    • @BorisFXco
      @BorisFXco  Před 2 lety

      Unless the chair is a very different color than what you're wearing, there isn't a high chance that this will work without a lot of effort. The best way to check is to add another instance of Primatte over the top and see if you can use the Manual Background Color sampler to pick the chair as your starting point. It's rare that this will work correctly without using a lot of mattes though. In instances like this, it is better to just reshoot than spend hours trying to fix it in the computer.

    So it's like the old BCC Matte Choker and Edge lighting all in one?

    • @BorisFXco
      @BorisFXco  Před 7 měsíci

      Yes. There's some of the separate effects that have been rolled into one Uberkeyer plugin as optional modules. It makes the workflow clearer and cleaner.

    Awesome. Does Mocha Mask come with Primatte or is it a separate purchase?

    • @BorisFXco
      @BorisFXco  Před rokem

      It comes as part of Primatte Studio. You can use Mocha to do garbage masks to keep things out and as hold-in masks to keep things in.

    This does not appear to be added to the trial. I'm using the trial just for this plugin. I'll probably upgrade anyway. This seems useful.

      Sorry, I don't know what the licensing is like for the VEGAS Pro trials. You could see how it works by downloading the Continuum trial and using that in your VEGAS trial :D Here's a link : borisfx.com/downloads/?product=continuum&host=vegas

      @@BorisFXco I just checked and it appears that if I buy Sony Vegas Pro that it comes with Advanced chroma keying
      with Boris FX Primatte Studio. The trial does not appear to have this feature so I can't test it first.

    • @BorisFXco
      @BorisFXco  Před 2 lety

      If the trial version of VEGAS lets you install OFX plugins, install our trial software and you can test it like that. borisfx.com/products/continuum/?collection=continuum&product=continuum

    How can we pull a nice keying with multiple frontground video sources? I want to make a video where I appear 4 different times over the background (I'll film myself 4 different times). Do I have to fully do one, render, then do the second, render, etc? Do I lose quality with each rendering, if that's the solution? Thanks!

    • @BorisFXco
      @BorisFXco  Před 2 lety +1

      You can just layer them up in the same timeline. Don't render in between. If you are filming everything with the same greenscreen/lighting, it's even easier because you can just copy/paste Primatte Studio from one clip to the others.
