How to Make Edible Glitter
1. Sugar
Ingredients:
• 1/4 cup cane sugar
• gel paste (amzn.to/2dbCRuB)
Procedure:
1. Place sugar into a ziplock bag and drop 1-2 drops of gel paste into the bag. Seal the bag and mix the color into the sugar until the sugar is completely coloured.
2. Dump sugar onto a piece of parchment paper lining a baking tray and spread out flat. Place into a preheated oven (350F) and bake for 7-9 minutes.
3. Allow sugar to cool completely before crumbling up any chunks and place into a seal-able container for storage.
2. Gum-Tex
Ingredients:
• 1 tsp gum tex (amzn.to/2cmPrkG)
• 4 tablespoons boiling water
• luster dust (amzn.to/2cutnYP)
Procedure:
1. Combine gum tex, luster dust and boiling water in a small bowl. Stir until mixture becomes paste like (there will likely still be lumps).
2. Spread mixture onto a silicone mat on a baking tray and baking in a 275F oven for around 30 minutes, or until the mixture is completely dry.
3. Break or cut mixture up into small pieces and grind with a spice or coffee grinder.
4. Store in a sealed container for later use.
3. Gelatin
Ingredients:
• 10g gelatin
• 3 tablespoons water
• luster dust (amzn.to/2cutnYP)
• gel paste (amzn.to/2dbCRuB)
• pearl airbrush
Procedure:
1. Combine gelatin, luster dust, gel paste, airbrush color and water in a small bowl. Stir until mixture is combined.
2. Spread mixture onto a piece of acetate and allow to dry overnight or until the mixture is completely dry.
3. Break or cut mixture up into small pieces and grind with a spice or coffee grinder.
4. Store in a sealed container for later use. - Jak na to + styl
I think I would prefer the sugar one because it seems like the easiest one to make. 😍
I agree!
I hate sugar glitter it makes the cake have a very unpleasant crunch
Same haha
.....
Is it
Oh my God. Love these ideas for glitter. Buying the edible kind for my business is so expensive and this is a cheaper way and more economical. Thank you for this. You have a follower for life😍
This is seriously awesome... Saved me some time from finding edible glitters and this is cheaper to make than buying it in the store... Thanks for this...
Subscribing to your videos really helped me.. =D
+Karl Kenneth Meneses So happy to hear you say that! This is exactly why I made the video.
Me too
Wow!!
Thank you for the video.
I appreciate that you showed us a few ways rather then just one 😊
I love the differences between all of them so you have options on different effects.
The gum tex one seems to be my favourite as the fine glitter is what appeals to me the most, thank you for all your tips
Not sure if you know this, but you can put the first one in your coffee grinder and make your own luster dust. Will come out very light.
Wow, I want to try them all. I have to agree with you the gelatin on looks the best and uses less energy to accomplish. Thank you so much for sharing. God bless!
Thank you for being so honest in your videos that's one reason I subscribe. I've made the 1st one before but I do like the 3rd way. Smashin coffee grinder you have.
I agree with you. I think I will try the gelatin version. Thanks for sharing!
This helps tremendously! Going to try to make the sugar one. Thanks so much!!
EXCELLENT tutorial! Thank you so much for showing us how to make safe, edible glitter. There are many glitters being sold for cake decorating that are not actually considered edible, although most won’t harm you.
These are really good ideas! Makes it so much easier to customize
I think the gelatin looked the most like glitter. They all look great, depending on the effect you're going for. Thanks for this video!
I love this. you have saved me because It's so hard to find edible glitter in the store. I cant wait to look at your other videos thank you 😊
Such a well presented video. Thank you for sharing your skills on edible glitter. Since you asked me, my favorite would be the last version. Have a beautiful day.
Awesome stuff! Thank you for sharing. I will be trying these soon.
Wow! Great video again! Good job! You are sooooo close to 2 million! Amazing! I'm speechless!
OMG!!! This works so well!!! Thank you so much for sharing this with us all!!!🤗❤️ I made sliver glitter using the gelatin method! Instead of acetate I used impression mats( I got that idea from another CZcams video by sweet wise) Thank you again!
Did she give the amount of gelatin used?

I love the gelatin one ❤️ very shiny and pretty. Thank you for sharing
omg thanks so much this helped a lot I won't be the work cake decorator in my family any more
Seaweed can make a good glitter as well, if it's small enough the taste and smell isn't very strong, definitely best in non-sweet treats though. Really good for bath bombs and savory foods though!
And cats love it lol
I would love to make seaweed glitter but cannot find a recipe anywhere do you know how to make it? thanks
superb method of making glitter Ma'am thanks for sharing
This is such a great idea! I love glitter on cake knowing that it's edible!
Seeing edible glitter was all I needed to know to subscribe!

Except its not edible. Luster Dust is plastic Glitter. Inedible.
I love you so much!!! I had a dream that I met you, and it actually felt so real. But I woke up and it wasn't. But maybe one day!!! Lots of love from Ireland. Yasemin. xxx❤️
I like the gelatin version as well! Thank you so much for the tutorial!!!
New subscriber to your channel, my 5 year old daughter and I watch your videos all the time. Sending many thanks from London for your tutorials!
Great video! Just curious, for the third one can you use carrageenan or agar agar instead? I really hate the taste of regular gelatin.
I've seen agar agar used in a bath bomb for glitter but I am not sure if it is treated the same way as gelatin.
this video looks awesome, i can't wait to see it
Thanks! Enjoy!

This gave me the idea to add this to lip gloss XD
how is it? is it lookin good on lip gloss? im bout to do mine also
Excellent review! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much for sharing. I look fwd to make a few.
After you color the raw sugar could you put it in the grinder to make them smaller if you wanted smaller pieces or even grind down to dust?
The smaller the piece of sugar is, the less shiny it is which is why I'm using a large granule.
Do you think it would work to mix one of the colored gels and the pearling gels in with the sugar to make it shimmer more? I was thinking the same thing as the OP regarding grinding the sugar down to make it a bit finer. It seems like it was the easiest, quickest method at least!

BAAAAAGH THIS IS SO COOL!
For the gelatin one can you swap out luster dust for powdered food color so you're not defeating the purpose of making your own glitter using glitter?
I like the gelatin version the best...I'm glad I watched ur video...I'm a beginner treat maker n I've only learned how to use the sugar method.
I had an ad about glitter before this video and it was about when u play with glitter it gets everywhere 😂
I make coloured sugar for my cotton candy machine :) now I know what to do with the stuff I don't use in it :D
This is a great use for that Patti!! Great idea
+Cookies Cupcakes and Cardio did you know that you can use paper punches on the gelatin kind after its all dry (probably could with the tylose kind as well). You can do all sorts of shapes and sizes. I like using a small round punch to make edible sequins they look amazing! I just put them onto the cake or whatnot with some piping gel.
Stephndipity ! Neat!
That made me picture a dragon cake where its covered in tiny shiny scales all over.
I remember when you were like 200k
Where is this time going?
Thanks so much for being along with me on this journey! You're one of the original CCC!!!
omg ikr

I love it!! I've been looking something like this for a long! Thanks!
I love love love this baking hack. Would love to see pure white versions of these. Wondering if the method would be the same. I'm not familiar with luster dust but will have to find it now.
4:11 it made me remind of slime
The bowl she had the finished gum-Tex glitter in had a spout she could've poured it through there 😂😂😜

Thank you for those recepies 👍
5 years from now I can finally make this.
One year to go buddy
For the second one can you use liquid or jell food coloring?
Isabella Project all three use gel coloring. liquid can off balance the recipe or give an off color.
Thanks for this! This was so helpful!!
Thanks a lot. I think I will try the sugar in the raw since i have that on hand and will try it for mothers day. Can't wait to try it.

luster dust is meant for a shimmer effect rather than glittery :)
