In this clip, Khujo Goodie detailed Goodie Mob's third album 'World Party' and lackluster reception the project received. Khujo talked about not having Organized Noize steward the project but did get a track produced by Kanye West who was a little-known producer at the time.
Later, Khujo discussed Goodie Mob getting dropped from Laface and eventually breaking up. He specifically talked about Cee-Lo deciding to go solo and how upset he was by the decision. - Zábava
Khujo should narrate books on tape his voice has a authenticity that’s rich in southern integrity
So should beanies siegle
Real shit
Him and tmoei think thats his name
Thanks that's a good idea!!
No better way to put.
"People don't dance no mo" still on my play list in 2020
Mine too
The world wasnt ready for them to come out of that real life struggle mentality
True 💯
If they had a couple of party records on dat album, prolly would been straight, but more than 2 was a problem. I dug world party!! Bump The Dip earlier today, but it was basic'ly a 360 from the first two albums in regards to the feelin' of the album.
I definitely git wut Khujo was sayin' tho as to why they went the route they did wit World Party!
See Biggie came out wit street & party/club records dat is wut Puffy got across to Big.
It's kinda like seein' Chuck(Allen Iverson) change up all of a sudden dressed in suits to change up his image. Not right or wrong I guess, but fans loved Chuck because he stuck to wut he was.
Fuck the dumb Ass world! Fans think they own your fucking mind. Rap fans and wrestling fans can be some damn babies yell
I wasn't either to be honest.
I never thought about it like that but ur so right. It reminds me of when Mary J first tried to make more happy love songs. Her core audience still wanted hear about her pain.
But it makes sense. It's like how nobody would want to hear a revolutionary reggae artist sing about living the good life (Sizzla, Bob Marley, Capleton).
Khujo’s verse on fly away is easily a top 5 hip hop verse of all time.
I was about to leave a similar comment .. that verse was prophetic and hits totally different now ..
For me it was Cell therapy
Lol man, stop!
World Party wasn't as bad mfs make it. Even "One Monkey Don't Stop No Show" had some jointz on it. I used to luv Khujo album "The Man Not The Dog".
World party was pretty good.
The first two are solid. Even got classics. But they went left. Get rich to this? Weak sauce. And then turned into some haters. I was done.
I actually meet Khujo when that cd came out when he was doing some promo stuff for the cd and bought it straight from his hand at Southlake Mall in the parking lot.
World Party was bad........
That album was good too.. I can see it being a hit with a few singles but not being big.. But it was good
Off the subject. Big Gipp solo album is slept on. Mutant Mindframe is a solid album
My fav on the album is Boogie Man.
History Mystery sick and tired, trying to find the truth and who lied. Mutant mind frame classic!
Big facts! Very dope album!
Jason Stewart man I was just listening to “We Servin’” a couple days ago. Brought back memories in my box Chevy with the 3 15” Kicker Solo Barics beatin’.
@@CFBMcKinn4475 Mine too, that shit is a CLASSIC
Vlad tryin his best to get a reaction by saying cee-lo was bigger than the group and khujo kept that hat brim low and wasnt givin it to him lol
Please believe it kinfolk, good observation!!
Donovan Brown cede-lo was much bigger then the group
Facts! I'm glad he didn't feed into it or fall into da trap Vlad was tryna set! Smdh if he admire Ceelo so much he should've jus interviewed him

And CeeLo didn't do a damn thing when he left ..only white folks was fucking with him .blacks folks wasn't buying that bullshit he was putting out

World Party was a tight album. I think people was on Jay Z, Ruff Ryders, and Cash Money so much they over looked it, but if you go back and listen to it know I guarantee you'll like it.
Good point
Big FACT'S..
I agree
Simon Says nah I was a big Goodie fan and didn’t like World Party, had nothing to do with no other music
Shit was trash bro
Wasn't a bad album. Definitely different than the first two. I got my money's worth no doubt.
Shit was wild weak.
Soul Food & World Play & Still Standing Is Best Album till this day But One Monkey idk what they doing when did that one was wack af
I bought that Album and actually loved it. The change in sound and party vibe get Rich to this bumped heavy in the car.
I definitely bought world party as well
I bought it cause it was Goodie Mob. It was different but after cycling through for about 4-5 times I started to like it and noticed it had the dna of the first two albums
"Rebuilding" is one of my favorite Goodie Mob jams!!! loved that record
World Party was dope!
The first 3 Goodie albums were equally brilliant
I agree 💯
Goodie fit into the 90s period of hardcore rap and the new hardcore South rap real good. I don't think they should of tried to be light and fun on that 3rd one. But really a lot of bigger rap crews and their waves rose up in the 2000s. They still sounded good on Outkast stuff. I just think they had their time and it was done.
Immortal Richard Dragon world party wasn’t lite and fun. The singles they released were up tempo. But the meat of the album was classic Goodie
I loved World Party also, “What it ain’t” ft. TLC was my jam, R.I.P. Left Eye
SHIIIIIT! I totally acknowledge TO THIS DAY- the World Party album..beginning to end! Love you Khujo! F.I.L.A.💜
2020. World party had some bangers.
Yes it did, “Get Rich To This” and “What it ain’t(Ghetto Enuff)”ft. TLC were my jam R.I.P Left Eye
We definitely need a new Goodie Mob album....
Khujo was always my favorite out the group!
I still reflect on them lyrics to this day
Kanye was producing a lot in New York in the late 90's but D-dot was putting his name on it. I think the first album that had Kanye's name in the credits was Mase's group Harlem World.
Simon Says what if I told u I still listen to that song “u made me ft nas” from that album lol
@John Peaches Yea it was one of those corny type feel good songs..Dressing up like ol Otis from Martin in the video lol
John Peaches lol no judgement I like the song wit jermaine dupri 😂
I think Kanye first real credit was on Jermaine Dupri “1472” - “Turn it out”
@@MinnesotaEverything did it say kanye or d dot?
I love all of Goodie mob's music
Sunday morning, makes me feel..
Yeah Cee-Lo left & went to be a major success but at the same time his "New Fans" didn't take him serious as a Lyricist & didn't care or know about his Goodie Mob run.... Now in today's era of Hip-Hop his Goodie Mob run & Lyrical Content is overshadowed by him dressing like an Oscar & wearing dresses. He's still a legend to us who really was out here in these Atlanta streets but at the same time you Can't abandon the MOB for as long as he did like that💯
@CALICOTV301 Andre 3000 made a bold & Fruitful move Cee-Lo on the other hand Compromised his dignity with a wedding dress & that 20 Million you mentioned.
@CALICOTV301 I get the line but I don't think Big L would want his bar to be used in this context😆 Big L wouldn't sell out for no Money like that.
@@BlackJohnnyCage Andre wore dresses too. And CeeLo put out BOLD album before Andre... Give the legend his respect and don't diminish
@@khaledabdulaleem5620 I acknowledged him as a Legend & Andre 3000 wore a Scottish kilt not a wedding dress. They from my hood so I will always have love for them all but it had to be said.
@@BlackJohnnyCageCee lo wore a dress and people thought he was crazy Andre wore very feminine clothing starting in 96. People questioned if he way gay. He even mentioned it in a song. Nothing wrong with being gay, but CeeLo sexuality wasn't questioned like Andre. Both Legends, but you're undermining one of them...
World Party had some bangers! People snoozed on it.
I know right!!! Thanks for your input!!
Rap fans have the hardest time growing and evolving. World Party was heavy!
U right.
"Just do it " still one of my favorite Goodie MOB tracks. World party was different but still banging
Thats why mixtapes blew up. You could experiment and have fun on your mixtape, then give the people what they want on the album. Somewhere along the line it flipped. The mixtape would be fire, then the album would be all formula (girl song, club song, street song, mama song, the single, the filler, the intro, the outro).
Real shit!
Nowadays ppl got original songs on mixtapes, they don’t freestyle over beats no more
50 Cent and Lil Wayne changed the mixtape game... they started making 🔥 songs over original beats on mixtapes around the late '90s/early '00s when everyone was still doing those recycled verses over everybody else's beats.
EliteBlackSash 😂😂😂💯💯💯💯 G Shit
@@KtotheGgotta throw Jeezy in there
Actually, that album was hard. I was in college when I bought it. I supported the album. At that time Conscious rap and Neo-Soul was big at the time. I think that the album was perfect for the climate of music around that time.
Damn I miss that era. They killed no soul off. I want that back
@@demetriusgreen4174 Exactly, the white executives didn't want that in the music industry. The rather us rap about sipping lean, selling dope, and pussy.

Those first 2 GM albums go haaard!
The 3rd ones good too.
Straight A-Town Classics!!! (Soul Food/Still Standing) #WEDF #DUNGEONFAMILY
World Party is really underrated.... But what do you expect from ppl who always undermine Southern lyricists. I bet you that album does great streams. Khujo voice and cadence is so original and unique...he's one of the most BELIEVABLE rappers ever
I Still Bump “Get Rich To This” HEAVY💪🏾
World party was Good it's just when like when people didn't wanna hear Mary J Blige make feel good songs at first
They wanted the struggle pain and drama music only from her.

“Chain swang” is fuckin’ sick😍😍😍. My favourite track on that album.
Goodie Mob along with Outkast , Coolbreeze Witchdoctor and Slim Calhoun were like the southern Wu Tang.
TRUE!!!
That line khujo dropped on cell therapy was the truth bout shit that’s happening right now💯🎶
Khujo one of them real down south dudes, too real to be fake. Met Goodie Mob at a one of their first concerts in Orlando, they good people.
For the record khujo I brought the cd world party when it came out and loved it
In due time that song is a classic it touch the soul ya know
that's one of our favorite albums ever, Jo!
that album was fire though🔥🔥🔥
World party wasn't a bad album but it didn't feel like a true Goodie album. I think the people still wanted that same Soul Food sound.
Still Standing is my absolute favorite.
Goodie Mobb is best rap group of all time! I remember when they came to Tampa and they put on a dam good show.
"REBUILDING" was made by Kanye West ??? Damn !!!..it was definitely a good track although at that time I didn't even know Kanye West existed...
If you have never heard that track please look it up...It is definitely one of the best songs on that album.... It's almost like a positive version of cell therapy.....

I loved that album!
My father put me on to the first two albums in elementary school. Once I became a teenager I bought world party for myself and that is my favorite Goodie Mob album
Sounds like you have one solid pop for trying to feed your mind with that knowledge 👍🏾
Got Damn It or Damn Is Required N Southern Dialogue🤣🤣
Khujo barz always been ridiculous....as far as energy...I relate Khujo to Bustah Rhymes.....jus hyper good energy.
The First Album 👊🏼Soul Food👊🏼 was Raw Politically, Spiritually and Faith driven Masterpiece!! The last two felt watered down! Soul Food placed Goodie up on the frontline with Artist like 2Pac, NWA, Public Enemy & KRS-1 EVEN!!! I've heard rumors they were pacified along with other socially driven artist of that era!!! We fell to mention how major endorsement deals can castrate too
I liked that world party album. I use to bump that album everyday
Damn Just listended to this album today its got some good songs.
The beautiful thing about the name Cujo is that it's a version of the Ghanaian name Kojo. So there's African culture all up in it .
I think people hated on World Party because the single that they dropped for the album was too different than what people expected of them. The whole album got type-casted from that one track, which is what listeners do all the time. Unfortunately, unless you are a big fan of the group, the single is the only thing that will make people dig deeper. There were some heaters on that record though: Chain Swang, All A's, Rebuilding, and Street Corner is one of the dopest tracks they ever made.
I still jam Cee Lo 1st cd faithfully!!! Closet Freak is still the jam!!!
Chain Swang 🔥🔥🔥
Dang Khujo country ass hell!!S.W.A.T up in here😆
