Also understand how much time running takes up if you're a busy bee. I ended up trying to condese high weekly mileage too close together in weekends and suffered over use injuries. Running also takes time in your schedule.
Watching your videos has given me motivation to get back into running. I stopped a year and a half ago because of school and issues with my health, but I’m excited to run again! Thanks for reminding me of the joy of running!
ye just steadily increase your long run, mines was over a 3 month period where i hit 40 miles each week ended up running a 1:37:20 which isn’t bad in my eyes
My trainers are: Pegasus 39’s and Hoka Moch 5. Would highly suggest any of these if you’re looking to train high mileages and want a comfortable, long lasting shoe.
I always see people mentioning those, why nobody talks about the Nimbus? 😅 Also can't stand the ultra boosts at all, they feel "flat" like they have no cushion at all to me
Currently starting from zero. I’m hating the shoe thing because I have SUPER WIDE FEET and all that I have found to work for me are Barefoot shoes (wearing them and strengthening my feet took away my plantar fasciitis 💪). But I’m struggling to consistently run on roads in those things. It’s hard to find anything that works for me, but I’ll get there eventually 🤷🏼♀️
I would argue it's better to consider how long you run vs how much mileage you run per week as a beginner. Because your pace might be inconsistent when starting. But this can make it a little hard when planning at first, as you don't know how that matches a mileage-based plan. If we assume 13 or 15min/mile for a beginner, then you can calculate it out pretty easily. There are also a lot of time-based plans targeted at beginners out there. Lastly, walking and/or run-walk are 100% fine, don't beat yourself up about that. Run-walk is actually great when starting out. Run 10min walk 1min and repeat for the entire run that day. Can adjust the time of course.
I just ran a half marathon, and I loved it, but I was wondering how you don't get tired. I hit a wall at 12 miles even though I had been training for months. Thanks 😊
@footballandsoccerhq I took one bathroom break at the halfway point. The race was in Florida, and I live in New York, so maybe the heat was part of the problem ?
Im somewhere around 13 and just ran a 10k today for a fundraiser. I still managed to do sub 55 minutes even if i dont run at all. I might start running 10ks and go for sub 50 and run a semi marathon next year
I've said it before but screw it I'm training to run 24 miles in August time I run quite alot of times I'm now away with the army in Germany but I've got a good plan on how to keep up consistency wish me luck tho.😊
I’m not even gon cap my first marathon was easy except for my knee injury I had to run through but guarantee if I didn’t have that I would have gotten a much better time
Definitely do not wear a new pair of shoes on race day. I’m not sure if that’s what you suggested here? It’s always advised to NOT change anything on your race day! That’s what all those practices runs are for… experiment during your training runs, not on race day!!!
You do not simulate race day on your long run. You long run is meant to be an easy pace long run. All the speed work is done on your interval and tempo days.
Uhhh… im gonna need a lot longer than 4-6months🥹 But fr I’ve been training for a few months now amd ive made so much progress but rn my fastest ever mile is still over 8 minutes and my longest ever run is 4 miles… (love ur tips tho)
I love how dumb ways to die is playing in the background
Yeah fr almost like he’s saying don’t try it
Tip no 4: SLEEP!!!
i’m excited to see how much you can do you’re potential is off the charts

So far I only got the "eat a lot of food" down. The good news is that I only have 2 other steps missing.
Most important thing after weekly mileage is learning how to run 80% of your miles easy

You forget to mention runners knees 😭😮💨
Hopefully going to complete one of these this year🙏🏾
I’m running my first half marathon in November and I am really excited! New sub here!!
My trainers are: Pegasus 39’s and Hoka Moch 5. Would highly suggest any of these if you’re looking to train high mileages and want a comfortable, long lasting shoe.
originally i started with ultra boosts but found that i enjoy the pegasus 39’s more and they’re half the price. great shoes
Nice, i just found them

Perfect song for the video
“Consistently hit your weekly mileage”
Prime example of when the most simple thing- is the right thing.
Something I wish i had considered as well 😂
If having my diet on point means eating Chinese food after every long run, then im nailing it
Watched that movie a year ago by accident it's one of the best i have ever seen criminally underrated.a masterpiece by stiller

Likely down to ur pacing
@@joshrawlins21 Yes I totally agree
DId you give yourself too many breaks or too ltitle breaks? Try a treadmill program, then run outside.

@@monicapohl7109 Ok, well I was suggesting about ways to not get flat out at 12 miles for months, as you said? Not to sound snooty here.

How many miles would you recommend per week for a half marathon?
Thank you so much

Bgm goes crazy
But what should your weekly mileage be though??

How do you cope with injury?
You should come to Prescott and run some real trails
Is this in AZ?

@@xDraagn 3 hours is very very hard and prob won’t get it on first marathon if your only running 5 miles
@@xDraagn to get a 3 hour marathon you have to run under a 7 min pace for the whole time nonstop

And trained for a week and a half like 3 km and was like 40 at the time so it's diferent for everyone
you claim to be a guy who’s only ran a few races. If that’s truly the case take the alphaflys off.
Dumb ways to die! So many dumb ways to die!
Every video he’s just selling shoes. How many more of these running influencers do I have to block
