    Bought a YZ450 2015 and this thing is a powerhouse, for a 450. 1000hours on it. Nothing major, the OEM chain and rear sprocket lasted 2 months and went through the chain sliders, really apart from oil and filter changes, for the beating I give it, i'm impressed.

    • @xAnimeID
      @xAnimeID Před 8 lety

      +TheGraneable 2015 and 1000hours o.o what the fuck, did you buy it with 1000 hours ?

    • @TheGraneable
      @TheGraneable Před 8 lety +1

      HardStyle I bought it the day the 2015 model was available, around March 2014 I think, then I literally slept on it. 8-12 hours rides every time.

    • @xAnimeID
      @xAnimeID Před 8 lety

      8-12 hours per ride..... how is that possible, my max is like 30 minutes flat out on a motocross track for maybe 4-5 sessions, air filter change every 2 hours ride and oil change every 4 hours ride, how many times you done engine/pistons and clutch ?

    • @TheGraneable
      @TheGraneable Před 8 lety +3

      Yes YZ450F. Yeah, I do them when I can. I'm not even doing the right intervals and this thing is still running great. I dont do motocross tracks, I do Aventure style. I go out with a fuel cell and a sleeping bag I stop when it's dark

  • @westbrick930
    @westbrick930 Před 6 lety

    I’ve come off a 2015 350 exc 6 days and bought a 18 wr450f. The wr new was $12,400 while the new 2019 350 exc 6 days was almost $17000.
    I couldn’t justify the extra 5k at my age and style of riding. I will say that the wr450 is a tank in soft tight trails. It’s a real handful.

    Great comparison, thanks.. have a soft spot for Yamaha's and agree they are more reliable. With KTM the main issue is there builds are cutting edge when it comes to performance and technology, and by that very nature are going to end up with more issues than something that has been tested to death like other manufacturers setups.

    Why are so many people asking "should I get a 450 after a 250?" Unless you weigh over 100Kg or are an exceptionally talented rider, nobody needs a 450. 90% of the time a 250 is just as fast, unless you are a shit rider. On technical tracks a 250 is faster.

      +JUICY If you are new to riding, don't even consider anything above a 250F. Keep in mind that a expert rider on a 250F will DESTROY 99% of 450F riders. More power doesn't make you a good rider.

      I just got a wr and was worried about the maintenance having never done my own oil changes or services. I've done two oil changes and it's so easy, I wouldn't even consider that as a factor when buying a bike like this...it's one bolt to let the oil out and then you just fill it up with the bolt back in. I now do all the oil, filters and work plug stuff myself, easy to learn

    • @brandon6712
      @brandon6712 Před 6 lety

      10 minutes is what it took me on my first oil change. 2018 WR450F, literally the first bike I ever changed the oil on. And it takes only about 3/4 of a quart. Simple & easy.
