Rob Parsons has built a 600 horsepower Nissan 180sx drift car that he drifts without using his legs! Rob was paralyzed in a dirt bike crash over 3 years ago. Never giving up on his passion for drifting - Rob used his skills as a fabricator to build the drift car of his dreams in his own garage. Now Rob wants to share his proprietary hand controlled car with others who have don't have the use of their legs and show them how to be chairslayers too!

On top of being such an uplifting story about moving forward no matter what...dude is killing it with how that car looks. Chrome Works or highlighter yellow Volks...loving it!!

Yesterday at the AZ drift N drag event, not only did I meet Rob but I also created a friendship and helped him out quite a bit when he needed it! He is such a great guy!

i am working on a set up for sim racers that can't use their legs . i was unaware of the issue and found out one of my sim racing friends was someone that can't use his legs . so i am making a matching set up with flight controls as they can mimic this type of movement. you are an all star to me man, still better drifter them most of us . keep shredding Rob !!

What an awesome video! about 5 years ago I had a guy bring a Honda element into the shop I was working at and it had hand controls and I just had to try them out holy shit was it difficult and I was just in a parking lot

Very impressive to see him pressing through major difficulties and achieving his goals. It seems he is not using special adapted tools or a special work space, dude just welding on the floor while sitting in his chair, that seems difficult just as a position to work in.
I wonder if using a 6 axis joystick, not PS4 but real joystick like in a helicopter, would be easier to use. Brake, Gas, handbrake. But often simplicity trumps "optimal" design ideas.
I use hand controls on the right side of the steering wheel, but I couldn't operate the hand brake as well. I wonder how he maintains the speed in the drift.
