    What if the power is out for good? How long will this method work for?

    • @promek17
      @promek17 Před 4 lety +3

      All the time...the newer stoves like kitchenaid disable the gas valve so it cant be lit if you lose power. I have a GE stove and im able to use it this way during an outtage.

      as long as you have gas, it will work forever. once it's started, it won't go out unless you close the stove, then you have to light it again

    Is it required to unplug the stove first? I noticed you unplugged it in the video but didn't mention it as a step

    I understand that new models wont let light the burners without power only old models .

    I have a Kenmore and it looks like they totally shut it off during power outages. I’ll never buy that brand again!

      @@avocadomegs4189 That’s a good idea. HaHa. I forgot someone called me a Karen for saying I will never buy a Kenmore again because of that reason. We get hurricanes a lot here in Louisiana and sometimes end up with no power for over a week. It would be great to have an option to use the stove during those times.

      @@dreamdisturber haha definitely! We had no idea until we recently lost power and was in the middle of cooking. I just assumed since it’s a gas stove it would work when power goes out like my grandmas did and was pretty annoyed myself and this was the last straw with Samsung so I’m writing them off lol

    Just did this in a power outage cold day , had a pot full of water boiling for about an hour then all my smoke detectors went off in my apartment!!!! Why? And no the pot wasn’t empty. I don’t even want to do it again smh

    • @rantingsfromateenagerspers499
      @rantingsfromateenagerspers499 Před 3 lety +8

      Wtf you letting water boiling for an hour. That’s not the stove fault, you most likely just burned your pot.
