How to freely Move Objects in The Sims 4 | Tutorial | The Sims 4 PC & XBOX/PS

- Some quick tips to make your houses way cooler than they used to be! If you ever wondered how to resize items or move them freely around the lot this quick tutorial is just what you are looking for. I have placed the controls for both XBOX One and PlayStation 4 on the screen so console players can follow along too!

I missed my cheats and learned a lot of them but I couldn’t never figure out the equivalent to 9 and 0 being moving object up and down. SO THANK YOU!!!! MYS SIMS KITCHENS THANK YOU!!!! I have all sims packs on my PC and loads of custom content/mods and maybe only about a half the packs on xbox one and I still so much prefer playing on Xbox 😂

Make sure to hold the buttons simuntaneously and drag the direction you want it to go.
Random fact: I am a Xbox person and when I was rotating an object freely I had no idea how to do it or that it existed so I kinda just did it sometimes and yeah lol
same lol I'm a ps person and I one accidentally resized an object without any knowledge of how to do that and then I was like "wait how did I do that I wanna do it again"
This video is amazing but I need some help on my ps4 when I move the object it is always red when it's hovering it won't let me place it when it's on nothing
What are you trying to place? There are some items that need a certain kind of surface to be placed on, such as coffee makers and computers.
I use the alt with the move objects on and my itens do not rotate freely. I never understood why. I move then out of grid fine, but the rotation never work.
Make sure you hold the keys and then drag (all while holding all keys). Hope that helps! Otherwise I am not sure what is causing your issue
Does the tv and anything else thats intractable still work if you use the cheat on it?
Yes as long as there is a pathway for your Sim to interact with the object it should be fine. You could lift up a bed in the air if you want to. :) Pay attention to what "square" of the building-grid the Sim uses while interacting with the object, that really helps.
Example, when you have a bed, your Sim needs the middle square next to it to get in the bed. So that's why you can put a nightstand next to it and perhaps an object near the end of the bed. As long as the middle square is free your Sim will be able to calculate the path it needs to interact with the bed.

i can do it with thing on the floor but not with objects like microwaves what do i do
microwaves need a special surface to stand on in order to work. These unfortunately won't work even with these cheats.
Is there a way you could do this for a mac?
It should work the same as PC, apart from the ctrl button being replaced with command. I am not familiar with MAC, but do let me know if this worked. I can always look into it for you!
everything works for me except raising up and down on xbox I've tried everything possible I cant seem to get it up and down

How do you size it and rotate the items/objects????????
To size it you'll need the [ and ] buttons. Also, the rotation where you place things vertically or diagnol as you might see people do is only available with a Mod. The normal rotation is shown in the video.

Isn't there a command (CMD) key instead of control? I think they work the same :)
I don’t understand how to move the objects freely on a counter, like, I’m trying to move a coffee maker onto a counter but I don’t want it to be in the middle of the counter,
You will have to place it on the counter first, like you usually would. Then pick up the entire counter and place it elsewhere temporarely. Because of this, your object is placed on the right height for the counter, this also works for salon tables etc.
Then after you move your counter, pick up the item from it, and place it 'floating' on the place where you want it to actually be. The counter should still be out of place while doing this. Because it's not there at this time, the item will no longer snap to a grid, so you can place it anywhere you want, freely. BUT now it's still in the air.
Place back your counter where you originally wanted it. The object will **look** as if it's placed on the counter, while technically for the game it's not.

Sorry to hear. Try placing the object first, than grab it again and use 9 & 0. Sometimes that helps

Sadly there is a bug in the game for Xbox currently. Fingers crossed it gets fixed soon!

I'm sorry to hear! Unfortunately EA broke some controls for the console version of the game so it might be because of that.

In case anyone comes looking in the comments for why free rotate isn't working: you need to have Sims 3 camera enabled.

Resizing Windows, the glass stays small and the window will not go down far enough
Same goes for mirrors and doors. This is because it will take away part of the normal vision like the wall, so the frame is programmed like that unfortunately.

@@hails1218 Could be, but how is that my fault that the video you decided to watch is outdated from your current update? That's like blaming someone for information they had when the game came out, like when bb.moveobjects didn't even exsist yet, just to name an example. Also, it works fine for me, so I am not sure what update/version you are talking about, but again... that's not my fault, so no need to have an attitude from minute 1. Jeez..

It confused me for a while too, but I just recently found out how to do it by watching lilsimsie.
There's a camera button in the upper right corner. While in build mode, click that icon and select the camera on the right (next to the default camera that you already have selected.)
It should be labeled "Sims 3 Camera" if you hover your mouse over it.
Once you select that, you'll be able to rotate freely by holding down "Alt" and also holding down the left mouse button.
It is not working
None of them worked for ps4 :( none
