As they're both being incinerated, seemingly reduced to bare instinct, the mother vainly tries to cover the baby with herself as she falls to the ground. That animation doesn't blink or look away from the horror.
They take the approach of « if it we can’t just set off a bunch of explosives in front of a camera, we’ll put some creative artistry into it » that’s why most modern CG explosion suck and all look the same.
