- Full Day of eating at some common fast food restaurants near me. This was a fun experiment to hit some good nutrition numbers. High protein can be tough when eating fast food for bodybuilding purposes. Perhaps some easy meal ordering options will help your next visit.
The Day Started with McDonalds
Taco Bell was meal 2
Final Meal was from Tijuana Flats
My goal right now is to stay lean, continue to add muscle and feel great. This was an interesting experiment and it opened my eyes.
Creating a menu for bodybuilding at fast food restaurants can be a challenge but some places make it much easier!
Which Restaurants Should I Try Next?
Chipotle
Any of the big name pizza places
I'm 11 weeks out and ate Pizza Hut yesterday. Macros fit fine. Just did an extra cheese thin crust and had 3 slices - loaded up on protein the rest of the day. You can make anything work on a flexible diet.
@@S_W1 Yes that's happening for sure!
@@rodneyfentress8888 deal for sure!
Would love it if you could do normal full day of eating videos every few weeks as it’s so motivating! Love the channel by the way!
I went to Taco Bell for lunch today for the 1st time in years. I ordered 3 Cantina chicken soft tacos with extra chicken no cheese after watching this video. Absolutely delicious!!
That is awesome!
Paul your content is TOP NOTCH bro!
I hope this turns into a whole series and shows people that you really can get a meal with decent macros from just about any fast food place if you order carefully/strategically. I've been taking this approach for years because I don't like meal prepping. Subway, Chick Fil A, Taco Bell, Sardi's, Nando's, Chipotle, Cava, Mezeh, ect. All it takes is a little bit of thought. Once you start looking at food strictly on a macronutrient level it becomes way easier to make good choices.
The 90's is back baby
I wish the prices were lol
My go to when doing road trips - Starbucks Turkey Bacon, Cheddar & Egg White Sandwich 17P 28C 5F 225 cals / Filet O Fish no tartar sauce - 15P 38C 9 F 290 cals. Two of each when on the go to prevent the temptation when on vacation
oh that's a good call!
Thanks for the video Paul. My go to Protein bomb is Chipotle burrito bowl - white rice, chicken, black beans, veggie, pico and medium sauce, add corn and lettuce only. It’s 50g of P and around 70g of C.if you wanna decrease carbs just skip the corn or don’t eat all the rice. Delicious and healthy.
Great vid idea Paul. I would like to see more of these and food prep idea vids
yeah that's going to happen!
Great post. As an outside sales rep this is often the situation I find myself in. No matter the choice, it's a fabulous reminder to be accountable.
The Taco Bell order is genius! 😊
Great video. Please do more of these. Very helpful for people super busy.
Wow, this is pure gold, I'm shocked with the protein values Thx Paul!
Been watching you a long time mate. Loved this video, great to mix it up, keep them coming
Please make this a series!!! This helps busy nurses like myself so much!!🙏🏼🔥 love your videos!!
That's the plan!
Love these vids. My job is a lot of driving about, and if I’m with a co-worker I’m often stuck going to a fast food place I wouldn’t go to by myself for lunch. I’m definitely interested in what I can grab at various places… McDonalds, Subway, Burger King, Wendy’s… all of those places.
For those who have a Sheetz nearby, the Protein Showdown breakfast sandwich is my go to. 20g P, 27g C, 12g F, 300 calories each one.
This is the video I have been waiting for!!!! Thank you
Hope you like it!
Such practical info. I don't eat fast food, but it's good to know (just in case I ever have to resort to FF), and I can share the info/video with those who do.
Great content and looking for some more! I think the most important thing you did is showing how to make the items less calories even if they don't have much to offer in regards to "healthy" food. Things like removing the cheese, not eating size like french fries or chips, adding more proteins, even possibly asking for more fillers like lettuce and tomato that are lower in calories. That Taco Bell app was also a shocker to me! 😮
Great video! Chipotle is always a good go to quick stop restaurant with some quality options!
Yes for sure it's one of my go to places!
Thank you for sharing Paul 🎉👏👏 I really enjoyed this video
Glad you enjoyed it
Great video again. Been watching you for 2 years now 👌
I appreciate that!
The video we’ve all been waiting for!!!
Really! Good to know.
Great video thanks Paul and I like the way you lowered the fat and kept the protein and carbs appropriate. Maybe you could do a vlog on your fav breakfast? Thanks
Yes for sure!
Hell no do not stop, this vid was great!
I had no idea about the Taco Bell calculator 😮
I only go out once a week for a junk meal.
95% of my whole food meals are done at home.
Love the idea of this. We all know how busy we can be.
I would like to see what you can do with places like Popeyes and KFC. Also Wendy’s and BK
Loved this video Paul 💪🏻😍thank you !!!
You're so welcome!
Great video! I like your approach. You did the best you could and just moved on with your day
I appreciate that!
Loved this, so helpful!
Appreciate it!
Thank you Paul
Another banger from Paul 🔥
Chipotle bowls double protein, no rice, all veggies , salsa, beans, lettuce….yessss please!! Gotta have your quick go to’s! Love this content!
Right!!
In and Out .. Thanks Paul!
we don't have them here in Florida, but I love it when I travel to the west coast.
I loved this. I am often on the run with the family and we stop at fast food and I don't eat because it seems too destructive to my goals. I would have eaten some of the meals you got.
yeah it's easy to just say F it.
Great content as usual, thank you Paul.
I am still hesitated to ask my question and describe my situation, because you almost covered it recently..
i appreciate your thoughtfullness!
You’re the man love you Paul!!
Well thank you, i appreciate the support!
Very cool video. 👍🏻 Love Tijuana Flats.
yeah i go once a week most weeks!
Freaking awesome vid!!! Real life ..real situations…shows you can live and be fit without living the “ bodybuilder bro” never leave your house crap
Awesome video! Suggested fastfood places for next video: Chik Fil A, Chipotle, KFC, Subway...
Sounds good!
Chipotle please! Great video Paul! Thank you ❤😊
Coming soon!
Great idea for a video. Real world eating
Glad you liked it!!
Thanks for this! Chipotle and Starbucks please!
Great video. Thanks.
Glad you liked it!
Thanks Paul...if you have it in your state try Panera
Yes i have one very close!
Off the top of my head Moe's, Chipotle, Tazikis, Dickey's BBQ all have nutrition calculators. I'm sure there are quite a few more.
If you’re ever in Atlanta, let’s play some tennis bro. You’re one of my fave fitness CZcamsrs
Wow, thank you! Please add Chipotle and Panera Bread to the list.
You got it!
Enjoyed this good job👌🏻
Glad you enjoyed
This Taco Bell meal intrigues me. I also despise cheese. Frankly my dislike of cheese may be one of the big reasons I’m still as lean as I was in college (I’m 41). That and my penchant for not drinking any juices or liquid calories. Just simple black coffee and water day in and day out.
Very cool, I can occasionally eat like a normal mortal again. 🤠
Yeah I was surprised at Taco Bell especially!
Chick-fil-a has a great breakfast sandwich. Grilled chicken and egg white on an English muffin. They also have fruit or a kale salad that are low calorie side options. Add a black ice or hot coffee.
Yes that's on the list.
Thanks for sharing 👊🏼
No problem 👍
Only fast food I’ve eaten in forever is CFA so head there next.
Hey Paul. Great find, and very educational because like you we don't eat that stuff. But sometimes, it's a must. Although lately, I have been pulling over at grocery stores to buy raw pastoralized egg whites and drink that with zero guilt. We have found a hack by buying the Margarita pizza when it is pizza night (usually unplanned but necessary). So, if you HAD to buy pizza, what would you order?
sometimes i eat it just because I want it, i get mcdonalds fries from time to time just because I love them! For me I get a pizza with extra meal, no cheese. I will do this next video!
@@PaulRevelia Interesting. We go the other way, with veggies and no meat with minimal cheese, but ALL meat with no cheese might be a cool hack. Maybe shout out to my wife Linda Sanchez who needs the inspiration to keep pushing. Thank you Sir.
Chick-fil-A,
1- 12 pc grilled nuggets
1- small mac n cheese
1-spicy Sriracha sauce
Bomb ! 52 g protein
550 cal
Paul's lactose intolerant, so the Mac and cheese is a no-go for him.
Love that Third Eye Blind song!
my favorite band of all time!
Nice! The #6 2 Chalupa meal is my go to at Taco Bell, but I could switch it up
just some optoins!
@@PaulRevelia to be fair, that was pre summer challenge. Need to eat cleaner now anyways
I have one for ya. Universal Studio FL. I’m going in July, I pack my own meals from Chicago to FL, but if you know some tricks, share! Maybe the company will pay for the fam vacay for the good of the show. 🤣🙌🏼
McAlisters Deli, Taziki’s, and like regular sit down Mexican restaurants.
another good one is panda express. get the bowl, get super greens and main protein just teriyaki chicken
Thanks for the tips!
Chic Fil A breakfast! Get the bowl w/ no hashbrowns and grilled chicken instead of fried. You can add more chicken, egg or egg whites! Fruit cup side! Delicious!
Informative. TY
Glad it was helpful!
Taco Bell hired a nutritionist and has upped their game lots in the past few years.
A few suggestions: Wendy’s, Popeye’s, KFC, Checkers, Sonic, Shake Shack, Bonchon, Panda Express, Starbucks (for those of us who don’t drink coffee too please - sometimes a Starbucks is the only nearby option)
Needed this, today! 👍🏾Week 1 in the books. How about Wendy’s?
That is the closest to my house so that's gonna happen!
Egg McMuffins rock, Paul...not quite as good as your Candy Corn, though, Bro! LOL
Really nice video! I like cheese on my foods but it’s not a dealbreaker to take it off in the name of the #gains
Yeah, honestly my allergy to cheese has helped make macro tracking and hitting. My number is much easier. It has a lot of fat in it.
This is a great video, thanks.
Let’s be honest, the “count your macros, eat a gram of protein per pound of body weight and meal prep your chicken and veg” is just not realistic or sustainable for a lot of people when they’re busy. And when people drop off that, it’s all too easy to just totally give up.
Having more content around “ok, you didn’t quite nail it, but do this which is a bit more sustainable, so that you don’t completely spiral down to fries and milkshakes” would be such a big value add to a lot of people - myself included.
Well this is certainly that type of content and it's how i live my life. I only track perfectly when I have a goal like competing. Tracking has given me much for freedom and control from the knowledge I gained.
There's also butter on the Egg McMuffin. I ask them to leave that off, and I add an additional egg.
Yeah is a terrible idea to eat that 😂 I eat the grilled chicken sandwich from Jack in the Box no dressing and if you need more protein just stop to seven eleven get a protein 40grs no sugar and I ain't no trainer 🤦
Hi Paul,
As always great vid, thanks.
Having said that, fast foods are easy, all chains in UK have everything listed. What I struggle with is eating when I travel for business. Company puts me in various hotels where the food is provided. How to deal with it, breakfasts etc. Even things like yogurts, you look at them at the supermarket and they can vary sooo widely that there's no way to get the numbers without knowing which product they use.
How to estimate your macros and calories where there's no info online or labels on the products. Any ideas there?
i try to stick to predictable foods.
O yes yes yes thanks for THIS one here as a dad of 3 it can get interesting 😂😂😂
i have 3 as well!
I do chick fil A a lot. Do chipotle or Jimmy John’s
Chipotle is great too! They have a nutrition calculator
Yes this is happening!
Hi Paul. Big fan. Top tip: there is no lactose in cheese!
Different types of cheese have different levels of lactose, and some are almost zero, but not all.
Can you also show what it cost to eat out? At end of day ?
Bless you for highlighting Taco Bell
Why is that, do you eat there frequently?
@@PaulRevelia very infrequently, but I've always kinda loved it, so nice to see some better options are available. Appreciate all your work and content!
I wouldn't feed my dog McDonald's 😅 fun video Paul thanks for your content!
oh man i love it from time to time, especially the fries!
@PaulRevelia haha so does my mother in law! I'm on that next level of organic whole foods and natural foods, too many Bobby Parrish videos I suppose! Haha I figured it could only help, I will say I've remained injury free, and when I do go back to including "crappy normal foods" in my diet I end up throwing my back out and back to chiropractor for adjustments, just a pattern I noticed since switching to eating as healthy as possible 😅
Try there bagel breakfast sandwiches. They are actually pretty decent.
@KingShadows23 I'm on the cooking myself kick pretty hard, organic and healthy, I actually enjoy it and eating the same meals on time every day doesn't bother me, I'm a weirdo I guess haha I bet I haven't ate at a McDonald's in over 5 years I definitely avoid fast food restaurants 😅
@zacharymartin5198 yeah I feel ya there, it's best to avoid these fast food places but man sometimes after work I'm too beat to cook lol.
I was hoping Coach Paul was gonna stop at Hooters
Panera bread would be nice. Thank you!
Coming soon!
What would you choose on the Chili’s Pick 3 Menu?
I think they have potbelly sandwich shops down there in Tampa that could be a good choice
I will check it out!
Could you please recommend how to modify your recommendations for a 133 lb woman (who would like to get back to 128 lbs) who can’t take in as many calories as you do but still aims to get 30g protein/meal?
My lunch almost every day is two grilled chicken breast from Carl's Jr and four sides of pickles. Immediately followed by a run to Wendy's for a plain baked potato. 😂😂
they still have those, i didn't know.
Also what’s great about Taco Bell they have a few diet Mountain Dew options!
Yes that made me smile
Do you have an NTRP or UTR for tennis? When in Denver lmk and let's play! I can have you as a guest for both tennis and the gym facilities at Lifetime Fitness.
Awesome video that i'll be using! But the sodium the next day would make me hold like 5 pounds of water 😅 I know it's temporary, but still
I did feel a bit fuller today, sodium did me well!
@PaulRevelia yes, I love the extra pumped lift the day after! Thanks for all your tips, as always. Helped me get down to 200 from 220 at 6ft tall in 3 months. 20 more pounds to go
It's not fast food, but check out the spicy poblano omelet at IHOP. Eggs, peppers, avocado and beef - a TON of protein. Get it with the fresh fruit instead of hash browns.
yes I eat at IHOP a lot when I travel for sure, egg white omelets are a great macro meal.
Long Horn Steakhouse, Outback Steakhouse, Red Lobster.
I love all of those!
Popeyes, PDQ, Church’s, KFC 😂
Popeyes is insane
Do a tropical smoothie. For the wraps.
i will look to see if we have one!
Good to know about Taco Bell 😮
I go there once every 12-15mon and can’t imagine not adding sour cream and shredded cheese 😂
Maybe I will test my willpower
yeah i can't eat that so helps with the calories.
Hey Paul what's your thoughts on bread, bagels etc? Is it ok to add to a clean diet, I'm trying to add more calories to my diet..Thanks buddy
I don’t believe in clean, I focus on macros and as you frwquire less calories your diet will naturally get cleaner and more nutrient dense. You can eat anyting and reach Weight loss goals, once you understand macros
@@PaulRevelia great thanks for reply Paul, just lately I've found myself eating sourdough bread and bagels, bagel with four scrambled eggs in the morning,my lunch protein carb and veg, then repeat lunch for dinner, but before bed Couple of hours before I will have a bagel or slice of sourdough bread I find the carbs before bed help me sleep better
@@PaulRevelia forgot to say I have fruit as well, bananas or papaya or pineapple...Thanks buddy
I really love a chines takeaway if there was something u could suggest
I am not a Chinese guy, but I imagine its a lot of rice so no issues.
How do you go about sushi train/restaurants?
i have never worried about tracking sushi but it's worth trying, i usually just eat that post show.
What is the name of the App where you track your macros?
Nutrition ix
How many calories was it for the whole day? Seemed on the low side for a 220lb guy.
PATTIES! Many fast food places sell beef/chicken patties.
good call!
Jersey Mike please 🙏🏼!
I eat there all the time!
😊😊😊
