(EastEnders) Melanie Owen || Knockin' on Heaven's Door

Here is a tribute video I made for the iconic Melanie Owen of EastEnders. After 21 years, Tamzin Outhwaite has finally bowed out of the show, and Mel's character will certainly go down in soap history. I actually loved what they did with Mel's character upon her 2018 return: she had developed into a cold, manipulative mirror of Steve but remained a doting mother to Hunter. Her story was so unfortunate - she got caught up in revenge on Ray, which led to his death and Hunter's imprisonment, which I think just broke her. The siege episode was brilliant; definitely the best of 2019. Mel's descent into madness after Hunter's death was done beautifully and her blackmail of Sharon was riveting. Such a shame her character had to go, but what an exit!
