Um. You are not allowed to lose your patience for blending! It’s what makes you you! I’ve worked with a lot of makeup artists in my life-some excellent-but I have never seen anyone with as much attention to blending and light layers as you. It takes you from great to the best ❤ you have upped my blending game so much-still a lot of work to do but really slowing it down.

I’d love to see a close up with some bright green. I love a green look with a pop of like acid green and I’m sure it’s not very flattering on my yellowy olive skin but I sure love it.

About the sponge thing: sponges are meant to be replaced every 3/4 months, I buy a pack of 4 on any given sale and it lasts me a bit over a year.
It’s not worth risking it, if you notice it’s getting mouldy or too grubby/stained, even if it’s before the recommended time, just replace them.
Make sure they are left drying in a well ventilated area, especially if your house is more humid, and get a base with holes in it so that the air can circulate and minimise any moisture patches.
Real techniques had a case with openings, and I use just one of the halves as a stand to let the sponge dry on.
Don’t skimp on properly washing them every time you use them, instead of just getting them wet with leftover product on.
Gorgeous look as always Alex! To the sponge question lady - maybe give them a quick blast with your hairdryer after washing them, and save the little silicone packs when you get clothes/shoes/bags and pop them in the container where you store your sponges.

I use Dawn and cleaning vinegar to clean my sponges. And yes after that I rinse them lots and squeeze the moisture out and let them dry.

For Ruby, if you live in a high humidity area you may have to dry your sponge rather than letting it air dry

Just a thought for those who struggle with mold growth on sponges... the sponges aren't drying out completely. Have a rotation...Rotate daily, meaning let them dry out completely in a room other than the bathroom/shower room. Also after squeezing excess water with hand, you can squeeze excess water with towel.
For cleaning, Dawn cuts oil, but bleach solution kills mold and discoloration.
The end segment should be called “ask Alex”😊
I wash the sponge before every use and squeeze it out as much as I can wrapped in a clean towl. Then leave it out on the table after use.

Hi. Had the same problem with mould spots on make up sponges. I couldn’t imagine what I was doing wrong. Washed it with soap, rinsed for AGES, used paper towels to squeeze excess water out then left on a clean towel to air dry. Was so freaked out I stopped using them altogether. I now only use brushes. Maybe I will try the rubbing alcohol trick & give them another try. Thanks for the tip Alex. Beautiful lilac & silver eye look. Giving off Tinkerbell vibes ❤

I would love to see you do a green ish eye (maybe with some blues or even yellow) eye but for mature women (I know you're young I just mean like with tips for mature women). I'm 49 and my eyes are in good shape and not saggy or anything, just inherited 'bags' underneath but no crows feet or anything yet. But I want to do color without looking crazy. If you can do a colorful look that is also age appropriate using tips for older women I would love that!

Beautiful! I need a look for round/bulging hooded eyes w/ extreme dark circles. It’s health related so I always feel super self conscious about it. I struggle to find the right ways to make it look more elongated without being bulky or ways to decrease the bulge look. ❤xoxo
