Dang, I've been really into these voice-over vids. You come across way more relaxed and there seems to be a shit ton less of anxiety for you this way. Too bad I can't do my work week as a voice over to have less sighing myself😂😂

I predict that Glam is going to be back in this year. In a softer, more sophisticated way. It’s been about TEN years since Glam makeup exploded in social media ( can you believe it?) , so, the way trend cycles go around, it’s time for Glam to make a comeback . Besides, the “clean girl” aesthetic has kind of run its course. Besides , Glam never really dies. And I’m into it. 🎉

My 15 year old loves makeup! Sadly, at 39, the most makeup I have ever used is some powder and mascara. I knew/know NOTHING about makeup. I started researching and when I came across "contouring" I almost gave up. THEN I came across one of your videos. Not only are they so informative, but the vibe is so natural. I saw a 90s grunge kind of look that was so pretty, the khol kind of reminded me of that. I cant do stuff like that though because i have hooded eyes and most of the color is on the lid 😭
You can still get the vibe. Alex has a few different videos where she explains how to adapt looks for hooded eyes. Just search her name and "hooded eyes".
I also have hooded eyes, the only time I do makeup is to make it look grunge/rock inspired. Be bold!

To me it's such a natural thing to celebrate beauty wherever I see that I always feel a little badly for people who make assumptions because I worry they're not truly appreciating the beauty all around them. This is one of my favorite looks to date Alex has done. Ever since her videos turned me on to Lisa Eldridge's Seamless Glide Eye Pencil, I've been doing a lot of looks similar to this. I love to smudge. Like I'm kind of obsessed. The beauty community here may have to stage an intervention.

I am also a straight white woman who never hesitates to tell a woman that she is beautiful, but I have people think that I am a lesbian, too.. I wouldn't have a problem with that either, but it's sad because it's that you can't celebrate beauty without getting labeled that bothers me. I see beauty in each and every woman. ❤

of all the years of watching makeup tutorials/etc on youtube, I don't think I've ever seen someone use eye primer on their lower lash line... but it feels like such a "duh!" moment!

commenting hoping alex or someone sees this: affordable and/or drugstore waterproof/longlasting eyeliner pencils that would work for a look like this?
i find the ones i’ve tried fade almost immediately, aren’t opaque enough, may not smudge easily even when doing one eye at a time, etc.
the closest i got was the pink skinny pencil from maybelline but it’s not my fav bc it’s such messy packaging 😭

Can you recommend a drugstore eyeliner and/or eye shadow formula that will stay put? My eyes are quickly a mess 😩 and waterproof doesn’t help so much when you’re oily…it breaks products down so fast.

This is a great look! I'm thinking of trying a version of this myself. (Since I don't have a lot of lid space, I'm looking at the possibility of a single-shadow look or something like it. Similarly with tightlining: My eyes are so sensitive that even sticking to the upper waterline causes irritation and involuntary watering, so I'd have to skip it altogether.)
